February 2018 – Read Aloud

ANNOUNCEMENT

We have justly recently been made aware that some individuals are using Microsoft’s Narrator, Read Aloud program.  It has become another tool for readers to expand their own ministries through this program. This is another outreach to individuals who are elderly, or have hearing or reading difficulties such as dyslexia. If you want to use this tool to help in your own outreach (even if the person you are helping cannot function well with a computer) all you have to do is simply  set up your lap top, or your ipad, or iPhone to any of our articles, right click on the article, and when a small panel drops down select the phrase ‘Read Aloud.’ You can adjust the volume, and the speed of the reader. It is another excellent tool for your outreach. If you run into any problems with my directions, simply go to Windows Read Aloud and learn more about this program.

Since this is computer generated voice, please remember that many biblical names are not pronounced correctly, and sometimes even little words (as ‘ye’) are not correct, however, a little grace and understanding will go a long way. Also, in order to aid those who use  ‘Read Aloud’ we may sometimes change the method we employ in posting, sometimes we may place scripture references together, or we may place the reference before the verse. All that we do in posting will be to aid those who need to hear the article, those who can actually see and read will still be able to move through the articles with comprehension.

I know from experience that there are those in nursing homes, or in their own homes without the ability to interact with Christians that would enjoy listening to some of our articles. Take advantage of this outreach of not only reading, but actually hearing the words that we have written. Also you are free not only to use the Read Aloud program, but you may also copy the voice reading on disk, you may use any sound devices that you are comfortable with.
