The Call of Abraham – Part 1 – Hebrews 11:8 – The God of Glory Appeared –

The Call of Abraham
(Hebrews 11:8)

Part 1

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. (Hebrews 11:8)

And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran, (Acts 7:2)

The GOD of GLORY
APPEARED

Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: (Genesis 12:1)

And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: (Genesis 12:2)

And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. (Genesis 12:3)

The Holy Spirit of God discloses the very first call from the LORD to a man of the earth documented in the Old Testament in Genesis 12:1. (Many times when preaching on our spiritual father Abraham (in the line of faith), I would remind everyone that Abraham was not looking for God that day, but the God of glory was looking for Abraham.) Genesis 12:1 reads . . . Now the LORD had said unto Abram.. . . it is the LORD. In Acts 7:2, the LORD is called the God of glory. As the God of glory appeared to Abraham in Ur of Chaldees, the brightness of God’s glory was also SEEN by Stephen in Acts 7. This same God of glory was SEEN by Peter, James and John while on the mount of transfiguration IN the Lord Jesus Christ.

And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. (Matthew 17:2)
And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering. (Luke 9:29)
And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them. (Mark 9:2)

Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; (Hebrews 1:3)
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (John 1:14) The apostle John reminds all that they had beheld His glory. When did they behold His glory? Of course, it had to be on the mount of transfiguration.

The GOD of GLORY
CALLED

The CALL of the God of glory was first documented to Abram in the Old Testament, and His CALL to those of His choosing continued into the New Testament in Saul. Saul was not looking for Christ that day for he was a persecutor of the church when the God of glory appeared to him on the Damascus Road.

And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, (Acts 9:1)
And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. (Acts 9:2)
And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: (Acts 9:3)
And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? (Acts 9:4)
And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. (Acts 9:5)
And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. (Acts 9:6)

The KING of GLORY
is the LORD of hosts

Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. (Psalm 24:7)
Who [is] this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. (Psalm 24:8)
Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift [them] up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. (Psalm 24:9)
Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he [is] the King of glory. Selah. (Psalm 24:10)

The word GLORY appears five times in reference to the KING of glory. Three times we see the word LORD tied to the King of glory. There can only be ONE King of glory, and there can ONLY be ONE God of glory, and there can ONLY be One LORD. Hebrews 1:3 connects ALL to the brightness of God’s glory IN the Lord Jesus Christ. Also, in Revelation 19:16 we have the King of Kings which connects back to Psalm 24 as the King of glory. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. However, because of the Adamic nature of man, it is difficult for man to accept the knowledge of the invisible. Who [is] this King of glory? ONLY the King of glory Himself can answer that question in the heart of man by the King’s divine knowledge and truth.

The GOD of GLORY – the KING of GLORY
the LORD of Hosts and FAITH
● By FAITH Abraham

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. (Hebrews 11:8)

Abram did not first act before he was called. He was called and then he acted on the call through the GIFT of FAITH. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: (Ephesians 2:8) In Ephesians 2:8 it is through FAITH and the gift of FAITH that we receive the unlimited grace of God through the King of glory, the God of glory and the LORD of hosts. FAITH is the gift that encompasses the grace of God, for without FAITH it is impossible to please God.

We bow at the feet of the God of glory in His unspeakable gift of that holy thing sent down from heaven, the Son of His love, the Lord Jesus Christ. And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. (Luke 1:35)

—– A Brief History of a World without FAITH —–

The land of Mesopotamia and the entire known world was steeped in idolatry when the God of glory appeared and called Abram and said, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: (Genesis 12:1) The history and background of Mesopotamia began when Satan raised up a man by the name of Nimrod.

That was Satan’s first attempt AFTER the flood to place a man of sin upon his own throne, so that this man of sin could have world dominance through a One World Government. This global unification dominance was maintained for a short period of time.
Satan, through Nimrod, had united the world together through a universal language, and one worship center (against God their Creator) known as the tower of Babel. And for a period of time, Satan had brought about a One World Government, a government of global strength until God stepped in and confounded their language and divided the world through languages and nations. When the God of glory CALLED Abram, it was the CALL of FAITH because FAITH had ceased to exist, and ALL of mankind had become idolaters.
Before November 5th, 2024, we were on the verge of moving into a One World Global Government, and if that had succeeded, the people of the world would have been persuaded that worship could only exist through government approved and sanctioned venues. The One World Global Government enforced by Davos (WEF) have for decades been feverishly redefining man, society and the environment. For instance: they have officially stated that trees and plant life are living beings with rights beyond the rights of mankind. Besides their goal to enslave man under their control, they totally deny the God of glory, the Creator of all things. In their refusal to accept the Bible as words from God, their hardened hearts do not recognize Genesis 1:1 because there is NO light in them. They are stumbling in the darkness of their own sins in a world of sin. These are the cream of Satan’s children attacking the God of creation in any way possible. Hebrews 11:3, Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
In Genesis 1:3, the God of glory created light and divided light from the darkness. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. God revealed the first spiritual division of two elements: light and darkness. Light according to John 1:4 gives man LIFE, and we are talking about the spiritual light that is in Jesus Christ. Darkness is the realm of sin and death, and because man, in Adam, is a product of sin and death, man HATES the light. Now the sun and the moon were not yet made, but light came first to show a spiritual application of overcoming the darkness in a Supernatural way.

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. (John 3:19) For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. (John 3:20) But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. (John 3:21)

—– A FAITHLESS World—–

In the days of Abraham, all men were idolaters, including Abraham. Idolatry had become a continuous thread of evil dating back to Cain and the works of his own hands. Even after the flood, it did not take mankind long to descend back into the world of idolatry. They raised up gods of wood and stone and worshiped the man of renown, Nimrod, who had united them together in a One World Global Government and added to that a One World Religion System of darkness.
Abraham was IN the land of Mesopotamia which is also the land of Shinar, and Ur of Chaldees. This is where we find the first Babylon the great. Their place of worship had been constructed with brick and slime: brick for stone, and slime for mortar as their artificial imaginations imagined that man could build a tower to reach the throne of God. We need to be reminded that after the flood, as God looked upon Noah and his family, God proclaimed of those eight souls that the heart of man was CONTINUALLY EVIL.

Before the Flood – And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (Genesis 6:5)
After the Flood – And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. (Genesis 8:21)

We see in Genesis Chapter 8 that even after the flood the hearts of man were still connected to evil, and the seed of Adam proved the principle that fruit brings forth fruit of its own kind.

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (Romans 5:12)
For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. (Romans 5:19)

By one man, sin entered into the world, and death by sin, so that all have sinned, and all will suffer death. The evil seed is in ALL of mankind and it produces evil fruit for Satan.

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (John 8:44)

—– The CALL of FAITH to a FAITHLESS World —–

The good seed of God THROUGH FAITH produces the righteousness of God through FAITH as we see in Noah in Hebrews 11:7, By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. There must be belief in the God of glory, the Lord Jesus Christ Hebrews 11:6, But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Man cannot divide the GODHEAD. In Colossians 2:8, the Spirit of God reminds us by the words, Beware lest any man spoil you. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. This is the removing of the Holy, and ALL holiness is met in Jesus Christ in the fullness of the Godhead bodily. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. (Colossians 2:9) According to Hebrews 10:5 the Body of the manifest image of CHRIST was to reveal the invisible God to man and was PREPARED for Him by Him to be manifested as the COMPLETE manifestation of God.

Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: (Hebrews 10:5)
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; (Hebrews 1:3)
Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: (Colossians 1:15)
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: (Colossians 1:16)
And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. (Colossians 1:17)
And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. (Colossians 1:18)
For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; (Colossians 1:19)

I mentioned the holiness of God because Christ is called THAT HOLY THING in Luke 1:35, And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. The Lord Jesus Christ is the COMPLETE HOLINESS of God. It WAS and IS impossible for the Lord Jesus Christ to sin in His manifestation or in His position at the right hand of God now. He is the COMPLETE HOLINESS of God and that holiness could neither be divided, nor broken. You say that He was tempted of Satan, and Hebrews Chapter 4, verse 15 informs that He was tempted in all parts as we are tempted, BUT do not forget the words, yet without sin. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
His temptation in Matthew Chapter 4 and in Luke Chapter 4 was simply to show the devil that IN HIM WAS NO SIN because there was nothing of Adam in Him. You say. . . BUT . . . He was called the Son of man, YES. . . and that is because we needed a NEW MAN, One from heaven to take away our sin and the sin of the whole world. He was the COMPLETE MANIFESTATION of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. It is Christ who declared of Himself in Revelation 3:14 that HE is the BEGINNING of the creation of God. Christ testified in His manifestation that He was IN the Father, and the Father was IN Him and the works that He did were given to Him BY the Father to declare the righteousness of God. The Lord Jesus testified that the words that He spoke were SPIRIT and LIFE, thus, signifying that the full presence of God the Holy Spirit was within Him. It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. (John 6:63)
To all of mankind: the world, the flesh, and the devil, those who make up Colossians 2:8 (Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ) and since the very beginning of the Church, man has attacked the FULL DEITY of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was not made as just another man in Adam. He was not a child of Adam, but the Son of the Living God. In His manifestation, He had ALL the attributes of God, and none of the attributes of Adam. Christ was not under the Law of Sin and Death because He was ABOVE the Law in His Spirit of life. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. (Romans 8:2)
Christ was the full manifestation of God in both the Old Testament and the New Testament. He was here to manifest God to man as the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost in ONE GLORIOUS manifestation of the GODHEAD. This was the SAME God of glory that appeared to Abraham in Genesis Chapters 11 and 12. Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: (Genesis 12:1)
Stephen in Acts 7:2 revealed this divine truth in the very beginning of his discourse to the Jews who had rejected the God of glory IN Jesus Christ our Lord. (Hebrews 1:3) At the end of Stephen’s message, as they picked up rocks to stone him, Christ revealed Himself to Stephen so that he would not feel the pains of death. When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth. (Acts 7:54) But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, (Acts 7:55) And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. (Acts 7:56)
Stephen saw the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. (2nd Corinthians 4:6) As you consider the message of Stephen, you see the fervent power of the Spirit of God increasing as Stephen preached. Not only did he have a knowledge of Scripture, but the Spirit of God DIRECTLY enlightened him. Stephen’s message was sent down from heaven with so much power that it cut to the hearts of the Jews. When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth. (Acts 7:54) Their own hearts betrayed them, and their hatred for the Light was exposed. . . such is mankind in Adam. Such is man without faith and such is a world without faith.

—– The God of Glory ——
Calls Abram to Separate by FAITH

Now when the glory of God appeared to Abram, the Lord declared His first precept of separation as He had first separated the light from the darkness in Genesis 1:3 and 4. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

The first command of separation to Abram was Get thee out of thy country and the second command was and from thy kindred and the third command of separation was and from thy father’s house. The command and action were to separate from the things that we love . . . TO LOVE GOD MORE than country, kindred and father’s house. This can be a very difficult separation.

◆ Side Note: Personal experience of separation from kindred and from my father’s house. Many years have passed since my separation from my kindred and from my father’s house, but although decades have passed, memories of that separation have remained seared into my heart. At an invitation from my parents, my wife and I attended a party of family and friends at their home. It was there among all of my family and among scores of friends and acquaintances that my father asked me ‘Do you love God more than you love me?‘ Face to face with my father, I replied with words that I will NEVER forget, ‘ I love you Dad, as a son to a father, but I love God more.’ That evening became an evening of unimaginable anger and hatred from family and friends. Running to our car as fists rained down on my head, we managed to escape with only a few bruises. But that was just the first spiritual AND physical assault that night. Little did we know that our night of conflict had not ended because later on while driving (in silence) on an interstate highway to a place of rest, evil followed from behind. But that particular experience is neither for this article nor for this time.
Years passed, yet, that question and my reply caused a bitter separation which never healed on my father’s part. Although we spoke with each other as time passed, he never recovered and even at the time of his death there was a deep embittered separation which never was resolved. So family, friends and acquaintances also made a choice that evening and that was around the spiritual question, Who do you love more? I leave you, reader, to understand what SEPARATION from family and from a father’s house entails with these words, LOVEST THOU ME MORE THAN THESE? One day or maybe one night of relaxation and enjoyment may suddenly turn into a time of great spiritual confrontation through one question asked of you, Who do YOU love, God or me? LOVEST THOU ME MORE THAN THESE?
So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, [son] of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.(John 21:15)
He saith to him again the second time, Simon, [son] of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. (John 21:16)
He saith unto him the third time, Simon, [son] of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep. (John 21:17)
He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. (Matthew 10:3) End of Side Note: Personal experience of separation from kindred and from my father’s house. ◆

These things are completely necessary. God wants us to understand the word ‘love,’ which is very misunderstood in our world society today. Man (in Adam) has so many loves that it is almost impossible to count them, and because of this, man has lost the inward possession of love. The Lord Jesus said, herein is love that a man lay down his life for a friend. In this act of love: God interprets His love when our Lord was crucified for our sin, for my sin, for the sin of the whole world. He sacrificed His own soul so that we might be brought into the love of God. This makes us a stranger to this world because we are born of the Spirit of God and have the mindset of the Lord Jesus. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 2:5) Since Christ was a stranger TO the world, and had NO PLACE in the world, where do you think that leaves you? And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air [have] nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay [his] head. (Matthew 8:20) And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air [have] nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay [his] head. (Luke 9:58)

When we were born of the Spirit of God in our new birth, we can never return to our old man for we took on a NEW PERSON within our hearts, and that is the Spirit of Christ. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. (Galatians 4:6) God our Father knew our position in this world as pilgrims, and knew that we needed MORE than the gift of FAITH to overcome this world, so He gave us the Spirit of His Son in our hearts that we might understand the glories of the inheritance of the saints in light, and that we might have the presence of Christ to guide us from within. This marvelous glorious Being that fills eternity has taken up residence in our hearts to enlighten us to the FULL knowledge of the truth in Jesus Christ.
John in his gospel, by the Spirit, wrote grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. For the law was given by Moses, [but] grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. (John 1:17) Every aspect of divine truth and deity can be seen in Christ as the purist of diamonds. No matter how long you look at grace and truth, you will see a different facet and a different ray of light as the brightness defused in a stone of glory which is only a shadow of the true tried Stone of glory. The longer that you look at Christ, He gets brighter in the heart.
As the God of glory appeared to Abram in Mesopotamia in Genesis Chapters 11 and 12, we see Abram traveling with Terah. The Holy Ghost points out that it was Terah who took Abram, Sarai, and Lot to Haran, not Abram who took his family. It was Terah leading his family, not Abram leading his family. And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram’s wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there. (Genesis 11:31) The Holy Spirit also introduces a place called Haran. (Haran means ‘mountaineer,’ or ‘their mountain,’ and/or ‘their burning.’ Terah’s youngest son (Haran, although dead) became the family’s burning mountain of death that Abram could neither conquer nor overcome as long as Terah lived. And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees. (Genesis 11:28) The land that Terah named after his dead son stopped Abram from continuing into the land of Canaan. The Holy Spirit is reminding us of DEATH. We do not have the full connection to Haran, but it was truly out of the way of God’s will. Many times outside influences pull at the heart of God’s redeemed.
Bunyan in Pilgrim’s Progress wrote of a place called ‘By-Path Meadow.’ It is there that the saint rests and builds his estate, or turns to other distractions, but there in ‘By-Path Meadow’ there is nothing that builds for God. Abram left his country but was not able to leave his father Terah. When we see Haran as the place of death, we understand why Terah had to return to dust and death because death not only separated Terah from Abram, but more importantly, death (Haran) separated Abram from the will of God. Then Abram took Sarai and Lot and left the place of death and ‘By-Path Meadow’ would be forgotten for a while. Abram left to be about the things of God: to see the country, and the land that he knew not of. We do not know how many years Abram stayed in Haran or ‘By-Path Meadow.’ But as one who has experienced ‘By-Path Meadow,’ I relate to the days and years wasted and those days and years can never be recovered.
When we enter into the Lord’s covenant of God’s love in Jesus Christ, we have all the articles of the world still around us. We must be diligent in the study of God’s word and allow the Spirit of grace to give us strength to love God MORE than all the articles of the world, materially and through relationships with Adamkind. Christ told us in John’s gospel that His Spirit would lead us into all truth. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. (John 16:13) There will be times when the old serpent will tempt and try us. He will even use the word of God to try to deceive as he did with our glorious Lord in Chapters 4 of the gospel of Matthew and the in the gospel of Luke.

—– The God of Glory ——
Appeared to Stephen

Whether you can accept this or not the God of glory appeared Abram. Abram was on his own mount of transfiguration. Two things we need to see: it was the God of glory, and it was the brightness of His glory. When we follow the message of Stephen in Acts 7, the Spirit of God revels the God of glory in two distinct different surroundings. First, it was the God of glory who appeared to Abram in the very beginning of the message of Stephen. At the end of Stephen’s message, we see the glory of God IN Jesus Christ.
Stephen’s message was so accurate that every word was precisely placed in the hearts of the Jews from the heart of God. Stephen was not an antagonist. He addressed himself to men and brethren in a compassionate tone because of their condition before a righteous God and because they were lost souls who needed the love of salvation through Jesus Christ.
As the Spirit of God worked in Stephen’s heart, the world seems to pass in the distance, and heaven seems to draw closer. However, the message sent down to Stephen by the Holy Spirit of God only brought forth anger from the listening Jews. There is no separation here. There is no priesthood, or Pharisees, or Sadducees, or Herodians, God circles them, for a reason, simply by the title ‘Jews,’ because the entire nation (as a nation united) took the responsibility upon themselves that the blood of Christ would be on THEM and ON THEIR CHILDREN. And as Stephen preached, they could not turn back from their own words that they had uttered before the cross at Pilate’s judgment seat. Let his blood by on us and on our children has continuously echoed throughout the history of the Jews since they uttered those horrible words while the King of righteousness stood before them.

Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified. (Matthew 27:22)
And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified. (Matthew 27:23)
When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it. (Matthew 27:24)
Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children. (Matthew 27:25)

Instead of repenting in their wickedness while Stephen preached, remember the words of Pilate at the trial of Christ. I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it. Then never forget the words of all the people. Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.

Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: (Isaiah 59:1)
But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. (Isaiah 59:2)
For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness. (Isaiah 59:3)
None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity. (Isaiah 59:4)

As the blood of the Jews at the trial of Jesus Christ boiled within, so also did the blood of those listening to Stephen boiled within, and in a state of sinful frenzy they added blood to blood; thus, in the realm of man with his evil heart and his enmity toward God, blood touched blood from the blood of Abel forward, And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground. (Genesis 4:10) There is a phenomenon among Adamkind: they can have the greatest memory, but when it comes to their sin, their memories suddenly are shortened and disappear. So, it was with these Jews who stood before Stephen. They had the same mind-set as the Jews in Acts 5:28.

Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people. (Acts 5:25)
Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned. (Acts 5:26)
And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them, (Acts 5:27)
Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us. (Acts 5:28)
Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. (Acts 5:29)
The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. (Acts 5:30)

The Jews proclaimed that the preachers of Jesus were bringing the blood of Christ upon them. How soon man forgets his own words. But God reminded the Jews, through the continuous sorrow that they have endured since they proclaimed, His blood be on us, and on our children. As Abel’s blood, Stephen’s blood was mingled with all the martyrs, and Stephen’s blood would also speak from the ground, and as Abel being dead yet speaketh, so the words of Stephen are recorded in Acts 7 to remind the Jews and the world of the travesty of man’s evil heart in crucifying the Prince of Life and the God of glory. The words of Stephen still loudly speak to Jewish and Gentile hearts alike for how much despite has been done to the Spirit of grace by trampling under their feet (both Jew AND Gentile) of the blood of Christ.

How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (Hebrews 9:14)
Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? (Hebrews 10:29)

—– The God of Glory as The King of Glory—–
REJECTED

Not only had the Jews rejected their Messiah, their King, the possessor of life eternal, but they had rejected the Glory of God IN Jesus Christ. As the glory of God appeared to Abram, he stood alone in a world of sin and death. Abram was to be a light in the darkness by his possession of the gift of FAITH. God not only wanted Abram to separate from all that he knew, but God was about to show him great and mighty things that he knew not of. God would take Abram into a land, and had proclaimed, unto a land that I will shew thee.

From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast. (Joshua 1:4)
In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates: (Genesis 15:18) CLICK HERE for more about Israel’s inheritance from the river to the sea.

Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the uttermost sea shall your coast be. (Deuteronomy 11:24) (Ezekiel 47:19) (Genesis 12:7; 13:15; 17:8; 26:4)

God gave Abram and his descendants ALL the land from the river Euphrates to the great river of Egypt, the Nile, to the great sea (the Mediterranean). This shows how ignorant ‘the scholars’ and the politicians and the leaders of this world are concerning the promise of the territory that the God of glory GAVE to Abraham.
In Psalm 24, the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof. It is God who has the RIGHT to divide the world, and the land, and to give it to whomever He wills. Yet, man jealously tightly holds on to the fallacy that he OWNS land, and that it is his right to disperse land as candy to crying babies. It is only in man’s disobedience and hatred against God that he does not acknowledge the FULL breadth, length, depth and height of the land that belongs to the descendants of Abraham.

As Terah returned to the earth, from whence he came as dust from the earth, Abram was seventy-five years old when he began his journey to the land that God had promised. Even in this, the house of Terah was still not yet separated from Abram. Lot (the son of Haran) continued to travel with Abram and would be the last family member to leave in chaos and great conflict. Lot would try the heart, soul and spirit of Abram by the rebellion of Lot’s herdsmen. The final separation came as Abram, a man of FAITH, showed the entire land to Lot and gave Lot the choice to possess any part that he desired. To show the true character of Lot, God watched as Lot made his choice. He did not look to the rugged mountains nor the hills of Jerusalem, but Lot’s eyes spied the well-watered plains of Canaan by the Jordan. These plains were so rich and beautiful that the Spirit of God adds the words that these plains were as the garden of Eden and as the gardens of Egypt.

And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it [was] well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, [even] as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar. (Genesis 13:10) Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other. (Genesis 13:11) CLICK HERE to learn more about the Chapter’s titled as Chapter 13.

Even through Lot’s choice of land, we see Lot’s selfishness. Both Abram and Lot had great herds, and Lot had no thought of Abram’s grazing herds. Lot’s only concern was his own possessions. The difference between Abram and Lot was that Abram had seen the God of glory, and his heart was SEALED in the promises of God. The end of the story of Lot discloses that all he possessed ceased to exist — all was gone, no cattle, and no well-watered plains. Lot ended as a cave dweller hiding in the mountains. Read how Lot’s fear of God’s judgment and his unbelief in God’s word drove him through his faithless flight from Zoar to a cave in a mountain.

And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed. (Genesis 19:17)
And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my Lord: (Genesis 19:18)
Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die: (Genesis 19:19)
Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live. (Genesis 19:20)
And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which thou hast spoken. (Genesis 19:21)
Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do any thing till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar. (Genesis 19:22)
The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar. (Genesis 19:23)
And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters. (Genesis 19:30)

This is a great lesson for selfish people. For the eyes of the Lord go to and fro throughout the whole earth. When God is IN the land, the land is different. When our Lord Jesus Christ walked IN the land of Canaan, it was a different land because God was there. He had come to be their King and to fulfill His promises that He had made to Abraham, but the Jews had already given up their inheritance through the depth of their sin. In heart they were alienated from God because of their enmity against God, and their idolatrous imaginations of their evil hearts. God was there, their King had come, the Lord identified Himself with all of them wanting to bless them, but they would not receive His blessings. In all the miracles that He performed showing the Jews and proving to the Jews through ALL His attributes as the GOD of glory that refused Him and rejected HIM. Therefore, He ended His walk not as the King, but as the Man of Sorrows. (Isaiah 53) Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the LORD hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger. (Lamentations 1:12) Only the God of glory could take on such sorrow and such grief. From the garden of Eden throughout the entire span of history of mankind, He took on ALL the sorrow and ALL the grief and ALL the SIN of man.

—– The God of Glory ——
FAITHFUL to the FAITHFUL
and FAITHFUL to the FAITHLESS
through His PROMISES of I WILL

Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: (Genesis 12:1)

And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: (Genesis 12:2)

And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. (Genesis 12:3)

God opened the eyes of Abraham to see the land of His promises. God is true to every word. I will shew thee . . . I will make of thee a great nation . . . I will bless thee . . . I will bless them that bless thee. His I WILLs come from none greater in all the history of the world than from the mouth of the King of glory. There is not one person who can match the I WILLs of the Lord. Even when the Lord Jesus walked through the land of Israel, when He healed the leper, He used the words I WILL, thus signifying that there was none greater, and then came the words, Be thou clean.

And Jesus put forth [his] hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. (Matthew 8:3)
And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth [his] hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean. (Mark 1:41)
And he put forth [his] hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him. Luke 5:13)

This phrase, I WILL; be thou clean, only appears THREE times in all of Scripture and ALL three references are directly applied to the leper for it is their will, the will of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, that YOU be clean. Sin is complete corruption of man worse then leprosy, for without being cleansed by the Lord Jesus Christ, there in only eternal damnation left, and no one can escape the fires of judgment unless they are cleansed by the blood of Christ. The Lord Jesus says, Now . . . I WILL, be thou clean.

Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker? (Job 4:17)
Who can bring a clean [thing] out of an unclean? not one. (Job 14:4)
What [is] man, that he should be clean? and [he which is] born of a woman, that he should be righteous? (Job 15:14)
How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean [that is] born of a woman? (Job 25:4)
Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin? (Proverbs 20:9)
If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? (Psalm 130:3)

In Matthew 8:3, Mark 1:41 and in Luke 5:13, we see the example that leprosy was the disease of death, and it was understood that hidden sin led to leprosy. Although Israel was given The Law of the Leperthere was NO faithful priest left to enact The Law of the Leper. The TRUE and ONLY FAITHFUL PRIEST (Melchisedec) had come from above in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ. Consider the four I WILLs . . . I will shew thee . . . I will make of thee a great nation . . . I will bless thee . . . I will bless them that bless thee, and as you consider the source of these words, all eternity was before Abram. From this portion of Genesis Chapter 12, the I WILLs of the Lord and His steadfastness of truth and faithfulness expand and grows greater in the life of Abraham.

The first I WILL concerning the land, unto a land that I will shew thee . . . is disclosed to Abraham later in his life, and the next I WILL divulges a great nation to come through the nation Israel. Through the Old Testament, we see the highs and the lows of this nation. We see the power and the weakness of this nation. We see the pinnacle of the mountain as glorious and the pitiful low valleys as corruption and abominations. There are times of obedience and there are many more times of disobedience. The history of the nation of Israel and of the Jews of that nation is one of many sorrows and few joys through a long genealogy of grief, distress and shame; which one day will be carried away by the Sun of righteousness with healing in his wings. But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. (Malachi 4:2)

We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: (2nd Peter 1:19)
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (Genesis 1:1) And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (Genesis 1:2)
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. (Genesis 1:3)
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. (2nd Corinthians 4:6)

As He was the Angel of the Lord in the Old Testament to fight for Abraham’s seed, as He was the Captain of the Lord’s host in the battles of Joshua in the land of Canaan, He will one day fight for Abraham’s seed and give them peace beyond all understanding. He will be a KING of righteousness to bind up all the sorrows of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He will present to them a land, at peace by His own conquest over the evils of the world. Once more in the presence of the seed of Abraham and the redeemed of the Lord through FAITH, the God of glory will appear and He will fulfill His promise, His words, I will make of thee a great nation. In Genesis Chapter 12 not only will He make a great nation of Abraham, but God goes on to say, and I will bless thee. This is the 3rd I WILL. In those blessings it encompasses God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost. The full number of the GODHEAD will bless Abraham’s seed. Abraham will SEE the FULL blessing and the fulfillment of those words that ALL the sons of Jacob WILL be blessed in the I WILL of Genesis 12 as the number three is the number of the Godhead. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily (Colossians 2:9). As the fullness of the Godhead bodily, Christ on the cross at Calvary concluded the past, annealed the present, and fulfilled the future in the words, It is finished.
As He promised Abraham, the Lord Jesus Christ declared in the gospel of John 14:3, And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also. This is the GREAT hope of Israel, and the GREAT hope of all the redeemed who walk by FAITH. This is the hope of His calling . . . I will come again. When He comes, the mighty throng, the great host of eternity will all be blessed in Abraham. And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: (Genesis 12:2) And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. (Genesis 12:3)

—– The God of Glory ——
Reestablished FAITH to a FAITHLESS world to Abraham
through The SEED of FAITH, Jesus Christ

Can you see beyond the stars? Are the eyes of your understanding and your heart before the throne of God? I challenge you to read Revelation Chapters 4 and 5, read them ten times, and then ask within your heart, ‘are you the same? What did you see? Hopefully you saw the panorama of glory opened by the Holy Ghost to you in the Person who sits upon the throne: the magnificent glory of God in Jesus Christ. I WILL BLESS THEE and all who call upon His name. I WILL make thy name great from Abram to Abraham. (Abram is mentioned 54 times in 46 verses, the first mention is in Genesis 11:26, the last mention is in Nehemiah 9:7. Abraham is mentioned 231 times in 216 verses, the first mention is in Genesis 17:5, the last mention is in 1st Peter 3:6. In the New Testament, Abraham’s name is recorded 69 times in 66 verses throughout eleven books. The first mention of Abraham in the New Testament is Matthew 1:1.) In John 8:6, the Lord proclaimed that Abraham SAW into the future and that he SAW the day of redemption and was glad. Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. Couple this with the revelation in the same Chapter of John in verse 58, Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Before Abraham was, Christ said I AM. THE GREAT I AM who fills all eternity, the fullness of all in all, the manifest image of the invisible God was revealed in the face of Jesus Christ. At this revelation, the Jews understood that He, the Lord Jesus, proclaimed that the manifest image before them was THE GOD OF GLORY. Instead of accepting this revelation, the Jews took up stones to kill Him. So, being the GOD OF GLORY, He cloaked Himself and walked through the midst of them AND being UNSEEN He so passed by. Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by. (John 8:59) The visible became invisible.

Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: (Colossians 1:15)
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (2nd Corinthians 4:4)
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; (Hebrews 1:3)
And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; (Revelation 3:14)

Who is like unto Thee, O Lord? And now Abram, I WILL make thy name great, and thy seed shall possess the land.

And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him. (Genesis 12:7)
For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. (Genesis 13:15)
In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates: (Genesis 15:18)
And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. (Genesis 17:8)

From the book of Genesis, we move into the New Testament and in Galatians 3:16 we see a great mystery. Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. In the two names that were given to Abraham: Abram AND Abraham, as his name is two, so is the seed: the natural seed which we see in Genesis 12, and the Supernatural Seed which we see in Christ in Galatians 3:16. Notice the designation is NOT Abraham’ s seed BUT THY SEED, speaking of the Godhead . . . thy seed, which is Christ. We have the natural blessing and the Supernatural blessing, the millennial kingdom will be the natural blessing IN Christ Jesus BY His presence in the nation of Israel as BOTH KING and HIGH PRIEST. Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both. (Zechariah 6:13)
The eternal state will be the Supernatural blessing for ALL the redeemed who have walked by FAITH will be part of this blessing. BY FAITH Abel . . . BY FAITH Enoch . . . BY FAITH Noah . . . BY FAITH Abraham . . . and on and on throughout history. These are the spirits of just men MADE perfect in Christ Jesus our Lord. To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect. (Hebrews 12:23) As Christians, we possess the Spirit of Christ. In this possession we have an inheritance WITH Christ as the sons of God.

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. (1st John 3:1) Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. (1st John 3:2) And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. (1st John 3:3)

So therefore, now, our eyes of FAITH SEE  . . .  both Jew AND Gentile are blessed in Abraham through Christ the Lord. When we are called, it is God who calls us, and NOT mankind. You might hear a preacher, you may read the word of God, BUT as in Abraham, you cannot approach God UNTIL He calls you. Many saints were not looking for God at the time of their salvation. It was God who was looking for them, and trying them, and witnessing to them, BUT it is GOD who finally gives the seed of FAITH . . . thy seed, which is Christ.
In Galatians 4:28, we are addressed as brethren by the Spirit of God and as Isaac was, we are the children of promise; as Isaac in 4:29 was born after the Spirit, so we also are born of the Spirit. The contrast between Ishmael and Isaac was that Ishamel was of the natural, and Isaac was of the Supernatural. Remember, that when Isaac was given to Abraham by God both Abraham and Sarah were well past the time of childbearing. God GAVE Sarah a Supernatural Seed. This is why in Galatians 4:29 we are informed that Isaac was born after the Spirit. Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. (Galatians 4:28) But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. (Galatians 4:29)
Nothing of the Supernatural can be acted upon without the POWER of Almighty God. HE IS THE SUPERNATURAL. When we are called, it is God who calls us. Although Stephen preached through the power of the Holy Ghost, and among all the Jews who were listening, including Saul of Tarsus, there was NOT ONE CONVERSION. Yet, the message was sent down from heaven in POWER. The Holy Spirit desires that we should see the position of Saul that He held the garments of the men who stoned Stephen. As a Pharisee of the Pharisees, Saul gave his consent to this heinous crime, the murder of God’s servant.
There was NO repentance to the Spirit’s call to all the Jews who were present (as we have seen in Acts Chapter 5) for the blood of the Lord was still fresh on the hands of those who stoned Stephen. They were still set in their hearts to wipe the name of Jesus from the face of the earth. Yet, this act of hatred toward God was impossible to accomplish, for the name of JESUS increases throughout the world to this day. From one generation to the next, THAT name is a reminder of the enmity and hatred of both Jew AND Gentile in both Israel and Rome’s part in the crucifixion of the fullness of the GODHEAD bodily. Even as man uses His name as a swearword and a byword to express disgust, in doing so, it cannot be said of them that they are innocent from their hatred for God and His Christ. Fouled mouth degenerates deliberately spew out the name of the Lord Jesus Christ as a curse word KNOWING that He is the God of glory, KNOWING that what they say will be read out against them at the great white throne. At one time in the past, I thought that these filthy drunken dreamers did not realize what they said, but I now understand that they are not innocent in their understanding of whom they are really cursing.

They that sit in the gate speak against me; and I was the song of the drunkards. (Psalm 69:12)
O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever? (Psalm 74:10)
Remember this, [that] the enemy hath reproached, O LORD, and [that] the foolish people have blasphemed thy name. (Psalm 74:18)
For they speak against thee wickedly, [and] thine enemies take [thy name] in vain. (Psalm 139:20)

Isaiah’s prophecy in verse 6 in the 9th Chapter completes the name of Jesus for His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6 is a tremendous prophecy; however, it was not the first time that the name of the Lord was called Wonderful.

And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, What is thy name, that when thy sayings come to pass we may do thee honour? (Judges 13:17)
And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it is secret? (Judges 13:18)
So Manoah took a kid with a meat offering, and offered it upon a rock unto the LORD: and the angel did wondrously; and Manoah and his wife looked on. (Judges 13:19)
For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on it, and fell on their faces to the ground. (Judges 13:20)
But the angel of the LORD did no more appear to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was an angel of the LORD. (Judges 13:21)
And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God. (Judges 13:22) CLICK HERE for more about the 13th Chapter of the book of Judges.

In verse 18, the Angel of the Lord said Why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it is secret? This is an interesting word because the name of Jesus as the Son of God was NOT yet revealed UNTIL the New Testament. This name, this secret name, was revealed from heaven in Matthew 1:21. The word secret in Judges 13 has also been translated as Wonderful. I think the Holy Spirit has given us two distinct wonders: first, His name at that time was SECRET. The Old Testament saints did not know the name Jesus, the fullness of the GODHEAD bodily, outside of their history in Joshua. Isaiah informs us with his first enlightenment that the name of the Savior would be Wonderful. and his name shall be called Wonderful. Now back to Judges 13:22, Manaoh contemplating all that had just transpired trembled as he said, We shall surely die. WHY? because we have seen God. Here we see another designation of the Spirit of God showing that the Angel of the Lord was in fact GOD, and that His name was secret and also Wonderful. So that Isaiah gives us the fullness of His name, but still, the child that is born is not given the name Jesus UNTIL the heaven’s opened and the angel proclaimed that His name shall be called Jesus.

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. (Matthew 1:21)
And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. (Luke 1:31) He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: (Luke 1:32) And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. (Luke 1:33)

What is the importance of the name Jesus? To that name and only to that name shall every knee bow. Here is the travesty of mankind NOT knowing the Scriptures. Each individual who has ever been shall bow their knee to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: (Philippians 2:9) That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; (Philippians 2:10) And that every tongue should confess that Jesus  Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:11)

For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. (Colossians 2:9)

You will either bow your knee in this life to the name of Jesus, or you will bow your knee at the great white throne of judgment. You cannot escape from that act of humbling yourself before the Almighty God as we see in Philippians of things in heaven, things in the earth and those things that have already transpired that are under the earth will ALL BOW to the One whom they rejected, denied, refused, and hated. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.

And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: (Colossians 2:10)

Now as Abraham, you who have been called are COMPLETE in Christ. There is nothing that you can do to change this. COMPLETE . . . you have been finalized. You have been set aside IN Christ Jesus. There is NOTHING left to do, you are COMPLETE in Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. Open your eyes and your heart to these glorious truths, WE ARE COMPLETE IN HIM. Who can add anything to God? For Christ is the COMPLETE manifestation of the invisible God. We have been purified in the blood of Jesus Christ once and for all. How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (Hebrews 9:14)      Colossians 2:10 means that you have been changed from the world of Adam to the glorious eternity of Jesus Christ, therefore, you have the power within to grow in grace and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power. Who for the joy that was set before Him, in the determinate counsels of God, from before the foundations of the earth, Christ endured the cross, despising the shame, and the contradiction of sinners and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2)

Abram saw the Lord’s day as Melchisedec sat with Abraham. Abraham was made aware of the future blood covenant that would be made between God and man, therefore, Melchisedec fulfilling the ordinance of the priesthood brought forth both the bread and the wine. At that point, Abraham rejoiced KNOWING that there was a day of redemption coming that would be SEALED with the blood of God.

Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. (Acts 20:28)
Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. (John 8:56)
How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (Hebrews 9:14)

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. (Romans 1:17) With this enhancement of Abraham’s FAITH . . . from faith to faith . . . when meeting the king of Sodom, Abraham refused to take a thread or a shoe latch because he had lifted up his hand to the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth.

And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself. (Genesis 14:21)And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth, (Genesis 14:22) That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich: (Genesis 14:23) CLICK HERE to read more about the LORD and Abram. CLICK HERE to read about Abraham’s battle against the kings of the world.

From the creation that was documented in Genesis 1:1 we are reminded through Scripture that it is God who possesses both the heavens and the earth. The Psalmist declared this fact in Psalm 24. The planet that we dwell on belongs to God.
Abram proclaimed a great truth: it is that God who is the beginning of creation holds both heaven and earth in His hands. When God spoke WORLDS APPEARED.

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. (Hebrews 11:3)
Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; (Hebrews 1:2)

Please connect the dots . . . . . . the Lord confirmed, after His resurrection, that, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. (Matthew 28:18) In Revelation 3:14, Jesus Christ proclaimed that HE is the beginning of the creation of God. In John 1:1-4, HE IS the beginning, and HE IS the Word that spoke the worlds into existence. For the worlds were framed by the word of His power.

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. (Hebrews 11:3)
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; (Hebrews 1:2)

The Psalmist wrote in Psalm 24, verse 1, The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. God has never surrendered His title deeds to the earth for He possesses BOTH heaven and earth, and one day He will reveal to all of mankind, the ONE who is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; (1st Timothy 6:15) Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen. (1st Timothy 6:16)
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. (Revelation 19:11)
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. (Revelation 19:12)
And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. (Revelation 19:13)
And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. (Revelation 19:14)
And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. (Revelation 19:15)
And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. (Revelation 19:16)
And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; (Revelation 19:17)
That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. (Revelation 19:18)
And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. (Revelation 19:19)
And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. (Revelation 19:20)
And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh. (Revelation 19:21)

Psalm 24 begins with the Lord’s possession of the earth and ends proclaiming that HE IS THE KING of GLORY.

In verse 10, He is the Lord of hosts. You see this host in Revelation 19, the army of the Lord of hosts. Remember, when Abraham lifted up his hand to the most high God, it was AFTER the Lord of life delivered the enemies of Abraham into his hands. And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all. (Genesis 14:20) The four kings of Genesis Chapter 14 represent the armies of the world AND the enemies of the most high God possessor of heaven and earth.  What we also should see in Genesis 14 is Abraham did not partake of the bread and the wine until he proclaimed that IT WAS GOD who gave him the victory, and it was GOD who defeated the armies of the world and of the powers of darkness. It was Melchisedec who brought peace to Abraham’s heart for He revealed to Abraham the very day and power of redemption that He would accomplish on Calvary’s cross.
In Revelation 19, we, as the army of the Lord, will witness the great POWER of the Lord Jesus Christ through the WORD of His power that will go out from His mouth to destroy all of His and our enemies. We will see the defeat of all evil by our great God and Savior. It was the WORD of His power, the WORD of truth, the GOD of GLORY, the King of glory who appeared unto Abraham when he was YET in Mesopotamia. And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran (Acts 7:2).

Amen and Selah.
