Within The Veil – Hebrews 6:19- 20 –

Within the Veil

Hebrews 6:19 – 20

Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; (Hebrews 6:19)

Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. (Hebrews 6:20)

And thou shalt make a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen of cunning work: with cherubims shall it be made: And thou shalt hang it upon four pillars of shittim wood overlaid with gold: their hooks shall be of gold, upon the four sockets of silver. And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy. (Exodus 26:31-33)

The Veil of Division

The veil was a division between the holy place and the holy of holies. In the word of God, God calls this special place ‘the most holy,’ truly a reference to heaven above, and the mysteries of the holy. And thou shalt put the mercy seat upon the ark of the testimony in the most holy place. (Exodus 26:34) The veil separated the ark of the covenant and the mercy seat from the world, and also from the nation of Israel. As the Cherubims protected the tree of life in Genesis 3:24, their image of warning and testimony was woven into the veil. This was a testimony to their unseen presence which also speaks of their ministering care, and protection of the Son of God when He was manifested in the flesh to take away the sin of the world; for great is the mystery of godliness. The veil separated God from mankind. So, in the righteous position that the Lord Jesus holds, although manifested in the flesh, He was always separated from mankind. But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man. (John 2:24, 25)

The veil in the tabernacle separated God from man as heaven separates the world from the righteousness of God. Only God could bridge this great gulf between sinful man and His righteousness. As the cherubims protected the holy of holies from any spirit of unrighteousness or evil of man, as in Nadab and Abihu (they perished because of their invasion of God’s righteousness). God could not stand their evil in His presence, so they were consumed with fire. The very transgression that Nadab and Abihu committed using strange fire, God in His holiness sent fire from above to consume them in their own sin, for our God is a consuming fire. (Hebrews 12:29) Although God wants to show His mercy and grace, He knows that man cannot be trusted, and that is why we have the Spirit of God to lead us into all truth because Nadab and Abihu and the children of men cannot be trusted; evil is in their hearts continually. We also find the cherubims over the mercy seat. Their wings stretched out as a protecting shadow and as a proclamation of their devotion to the Almighty God. They were there to protect the mercy seat as they looked on in wonder.

Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven, which things the angels desire to look into.

And the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubims be. And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee. And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel. (Exodus 25:20-22)

There were two Cherubims, of course the number two is the number of witnesses, the angels of God have been a witness to the Almighty God and for the Almighty God to mankind throughout the history of man beginning at the garden when they barred the path to the tree of life. The cherubims over the mercy seat were a testimony to God’s eternal redemption of man. This place was so holy that the appointed high priest, Aaron, could only enter once a year on the day of atonement. With his entrance Aaron carried the blood of atonement: the sins of Israel and his own sins were to be atoned for by the blood of the covenant. Any defilement whatsoever, anything out of God’s order meant certain death for Aaron. Therefore, let us compare this with the requirements that God laid out for His beloved Son, that a body was prepared for Him to atone for the sin of the whole world on God’s grand day of atonement when the sin of the whole world was laid upon the Son of His love. Then, as approved of God, He went into the heavens and entered into the veil and laid the blood of atonement upon the mercy seat for all mankind. This was the justification of God Almighty. The doctrine of justification has been misused for centuries. God was justified in the Spirit, not man. Man can only be justified when He is within Christ because Christ took man within the veil, so that they who believed on Jesus Christ have entered in with the sacrifice, with the High Priest, with the blood of atonement, and have been atoned by the blood of the mercy seat. There is no justification IN man, God justified Himself so that He could be merciful to man, for His righteousness was a great gulf between God and mankind that could not be breached unless God was justified.

The Veil: A Holy Separation

The most holy place was the most holy separation. No one could enter except by the blood of atonement; even then, all the defilement of the earth had to be washed away. This typified what separates heaven from earth. Remember the parable of the rich man and Lazarus. There is a great gulf fixed between God, between heaven, and between the eternal that separates mankind because of sin from the Almighty God. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. (Luke 16:26) In the case of Lazarus only the angels, the angels of witness, could span this great gulf, and take Lazarus to Abraham’s bosom (which symbolizes heaven above). This is the great separation that Adam brought into the world. Sin is the strongest most powerful element and restraining condition for it separates mankind from His very Creator. Adam brought sin into the world, and Adam would be forever separated from God. This great gulf of sin was fixed, meaning that it was anchored and could not be removed. Sin was such a great enemy of all mankind that it brought forth their very death and continues to bring forth death today. Man (in all his intelligence) has never realized the total depth of the mire of his sin. Today you hear people use the name of God when in fact they are still separated from God by the great gulf of sin. Only Christ could bridge that gulf, and only Christ could open a way for the redeemed through the veil. Adam continues to wallow in his sin. In the days of Noah, mankind was at the verge of destroying all men in the flesh in his lust for his own sin. Mankind will not give up his sin, it has to be taken away by God. If you feel that you have cast your sin at the feet of the Almighty God, then you are wrong. Redemption can only come from what has been taken away, and He (the Lord Jesus) bore our sin on the tree. HE took it away. This is where faith comes in. Faith comes to the rescue. In the days of Noah: Noah found grace, yes, grace in the sight of God. For the eyes of the Lord go to and fro throughout the whole earth. For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars. (2 Chronicles 16:9) Noah found grace in God’s sight. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.(Genesis 6:8)

God Gave Them Up – God Gave Them Over

The world that was known by God in the days of Noah, was walking in every sin imaginable, thus, God had to give them up.

Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: (Romans 1:24)

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: (Romans 1:26)

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; (Romans 1:28)

The wonder of these three verses is that God gave them up and gave them over, He would have nothing to do with them except His wrath and judgment against them. Read these verses carefully for we think that we live in an age that God does not see this defilement of man, and yet, we live in the days of Noah, and God Almighty’s sword of judgment is about to fall. As the angel of judgment cast his image over Jerusalem in the days of David because of sin, so too, the sword of judgment is drawn from its sheath and lurks over the whole world. God sees all, and all is evaluated by His truth, and His righteousness. In the days of Noah, they (all the worldlings) had cast off God (according to Romans Chapter 1). Mankind lived in the ultimate world of idolatry, they worshiped everything except the Almighty God; and their hearts were filled with the hatred of Cain for the Almighty God. They had defiled themselves in lust, they took part of all imaginable sins of the flesh. This is a result of sin coming into the world, and mankind having no restraint within his own being.

The Battle of Self: Within and Without

In the garden, when Adam sinned, the battle began between flesh and spirit. When Adam brought sin into the world, and he (himself) became sin and the father of sin, he (in his heart) was left with enmity against God. In the New Testament we have a witness of the continual battle between the flesh and the spirit that sin had caused. But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. (Galatians 4:29) We witness this battle in Ishmael and Isaac, but they were not the first to battle between flesh and spirit: for what was the transgression of Cain that he killed the man of the spirit, Abel. (Hebrews 11) It was the work of Cain’s flesh that killed his brother Abel. In that moment of time the great gulf got deeper and wider. For this was the first time that the complete enmity of man’s heart was exercised against God and against his brother. Man (in Cain) destroyed man (Abel) in the spirit; and for this wickedness Cain was driven out into the wilderness: more separation from God. He was driven out to the land of Nod; Nod means ‘the land of exile’ and/or ‘vagabond’ (endless wandering), the land of separation, for God no longer wanted the seed of Cain to be mingled with the seed of God. God gave this division to separate Cain from the seed of Seth. Even though Seth was not yet born, God in His determinate counsel and foreknowledge knew what He must do in giving another seed to Eve to call upon His name. In the day of Noah, the line of Cain spread out from the land of Nod and had mingled with the sons of God. The sons of God had taken the daughters of the children of men (Cain), and they had defiled themselves with the lusts of Cain. They had abandoned the natural use of women, they had defiled themselves with each other: women with women, men with men. (Romans 1) God was not in all their thoughts. A small point, but very important: when Cain was driven out, he did not accept his judgment or his punishment. And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear. (Genesis 4:13) He considered God’s judgment too much, as he thought that he was more an authority of judgment than God. Cain’s wicked heart was seen, by God, in the children that walked on this earth in the days of Noah. Now God was not in all their thoughts. Consequently, God sent the great universal flood and washed them all away. Only 8 souls were left on the planet, and they not only survived, but safely overcame while in the ark of refuge. Through the storm, through the great winds, through the fountains of the deep breaking up, through the tsunami waves these 8 souls found refuge in the ark that God had provided. These 8 souls were: Noah, and his wife, his three sons, (Shem, Ham and Japheth) and their wives. God declared that Noah was perfect in his generations, God, however, did not declare that same perfection in Shem, Ham, and Japheth or in their wives.

Noah (being chosen of God and brought through the flood) was the last viable seed of God left in the world. This fully explains the purpose of God and the new order; for as man had mixed with the line of Cain, and the daughters of men, most likely Shem, Ham and Japheth may have taken the daughters of Cain. This would be verified in God’s calling of Abraham out of the midst of the corrupt world of idolatry that had been continued by the descendants of Ham through Nimrod. This community organizer and tyrant (Nimrod) had brought idolatry in a short period of time into the whole world. God would have to enforce His doctrine of separation once again in confounding the language and driving them out (like Cain) into the world.

Another Division: A New Supernatural Seed

God appeared to Abraham to create a new seed within the loins of Abraham (who was Isaac) to continue the divine seed until the holy seed be revealed in Christ Jesus. The existence of the true seed before the flood perished in the death of Noah, but God is not slack. He will fulfill His promise, and He would send a holy seed made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem us to God, and that was His Son, Jesus Christ.

God called Abraham out of wickedness (to establish a new seed) as He did with Seth after the death of Abel. Remember: God gave Eve another seed, and this would end at the death of Noah. God promised and gave a seed to Abraham. Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. (Galatians 3:16)

It is very important to understand Chapter 10 of Genesis. In the genealogy and descendants of the three sons of Noah, there is no mention of an altar or sacrifice given to God. In fact, Noah was the only one, that God recorded, who built an altar after the flood.

And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. (Genesis 8:20-22)

Let us now examine Chapter 10 of the book of Genesis briefly. There is no mention of the children of Noah, nor their descendants crying out to God, in fact, we have a progression of sin and idolatry that reaches its peak in Nimrod. Which leads to the judgment of God on a sinful world by the confounding of languages and driving them out into the world in a state of exile. This continues the doctrine of God’s separation and judgment. For He confounded their language which separated them intellectually and drove them out into the world which separated them physically. This gave God another opportunity to reveal His supernatural power. He would call a man out of the midst of this idolatry and sin by the name of Abraham, and from Ur of Chaldees, the very center of idolatry. In this man God would raise up a seed in Isaac, which would lead to the manifestation of the divine seed, the seed of redemption, the Lord Jesus Christ.

The words ‘in Isaac shall thy seed by called’ is the supernatural voice of the Spirit. For God would work supernaturally to preserve a seed till the highest Himself was manifest among men to rent the veil of sin and fulfill the mystery of godliness. And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.(1 Timothy 3:16)

When God told Abraham to walk before me, and be thou perfect, it was for faith to prevail over sin, the sin of the whole world. And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I [am] the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. (Genesis 17:1) God was now establishing a path to the Redeemer of men, Jesus Christ. We are reminded of the seed of grace by this statement, ‘in Isaac shall thy seed be called.’ (Hebrews 11:18)

And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called. (Genesis 21:12)

Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. (Romans 9:7,8)

The Seed: Holy-Harmless-Undefiled-Separate from Sinners-Eternal

The word ‘seed is never plural when referring to man, it is always singular. (When occasionally referring to plant life you will see the plural form of the word seed.) We should remember in a supernatural way it was the Spirit of God who came upon Mary. It was the divine seed of holiness that was placed within her womb, this very seed had a righteous origin.

For this holy seed in its smallest state was the divine Creator of all things.

How can we, as mere men, understand these things. Through Scripture the walk of faith has been the path to the grace of God. Hebrews Chapter 11 gives us this path, but what is ignored by many is that this Chapter is also the voice of the Spirit of God revealing to us that Christ is the object of faith, and that Christ is the author of all faith.

The Window of Witness

We, as the children of God, are not above the trials of life. Abraham was not protected from all the woes of life. He also suffered trials, one of the trials was to take his son Isaac, his only son, to one of the mountains of Moriah. And there God told Abraham to offer his son, his only son, here we have a window of witness. This is the first witness of resurrection to Abraham. The sacrifice is to be his son, yet God told Abraham that He was/and is able to raise Isaac from the dead. The Holy Spirit of God also witnesses of this in Abel in Hebrews Chapter 11, verse 4, By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. This is a witness of the Spirit of God, it is a witness of the immortality of the redeemed, the children of God. This witness of resurrection would be completely fulfilled by God Himself in the resurrection of our Lord and our Savior, Jesus Christ. For it is He who has gone within the veil for us. The divine eternal seed placed His blood on the mercy seat that was not made with hands. Remember that Moses was told to make all the things that he had seen after the very pattern that was shown to him in the mount. Each and every pattern, each and every object speaks of Christ and His dominion and His righteous and holy Person. For it is Christ who bridged that great gulf, It is Christ who entered into heaven itself for us. It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: (Hebrews 9:23-24) Christ has gone into the most holy place. He entered within the veil, and now, the way is made for us in the mystery of godliness.

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) (Hebrews 10:19-23)

Inside The Veil: The Veil of His Flesh

The children of God have entered in through the veil, the veil of His flesh. For Christ was manifested in the flesh to take away sin, to establish the eternal Spirit within us who believe in Him. For if ye be in Christ, then ye are Abraham’s seed. This is the finality and the completeness of all the promises of God met together in the divine seed Jesus Christ. God’s promise is that He will not leave man on this earth without a Savior. For it was the God of glory who appeared to Abraham and called him out of Ur of Chaldees. Abraham saw the Lord’s Day of redemption on the cross and rejoiced in it. (John 8:56) Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.  The seed that would be the fulfillment of the promise would be Jesus Christ, for He has entered within the veil for us.

Inside the Holy of Holies: Brought in Through and By His Blood

In Him we are brought within the holy of holies. Why? because God has justified himself. He has made the unclean thing clean. He has given us the garments of priesthood in Himself. He has taken us with the blood of the covenant into the most holy place. Do we truly lay hold of this wonderful truth: that we have a Man in heaven, a great High Priest after the order of Melchisedec who is there to minister in the holy of holies for us. Mankind, through his religion of works and humanism, wants to keep us away from the place of glory and holiness. For in this place only the glories of Christ can be known. His glory stands out by His own words, And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. (John 17:5) In this glory how can we, redeemed sinners, enter into the holy of holies with Christ? We have been created in Christ. We are new creatures IN Christ. Our old man has been sent to the heaps to be destroyed. We have been given a divine nature, and the glory that Christ holds is concluded in the glory in Hebrews Chapter 10, verses 20 – 21: By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of God.

We speak of the oneness of the children of God with Christ; we must behold it to understand it. We have been placed in the body of Christ. We have been called by the Spirit of grace. We have been established by the faith of Christ Himself. We are one with Him, and in Him. And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them. (John 17:10) John, the apostle, held a special place of endearment to the Savior. It was John, through the Spirit of God, who gave us the exact words of the Living Word in John Chapter 17. John Chapter 17 establishes the doctrine of the eternal Priesthood of the Lord Jesus Christ after the order and oath of Melchisedec. We have the doctrine of God’s oneness: bringing in the Godhead, and the full unity of God. But we cannot end here, for in this unity the Lord of glory includes US. How wonderful. And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. (John 17:11) This is the great truth of our redemption: we are JOINED to Christ by HIS immortal power. We are IN Christ by His divine creation of us. We are NEVER to be separated from the One in whom we dwell, and who dwells within us. God’s almighty power has entered within us as Christ fulfilled the work of

God could not be stopped by the world, the flesh or the devil. We, as children, have entered into that finished work, never to be separated from our most glorious Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. This is too wonderful for the mind of this writer. I must surrender to the Spirit’s voice and grace for the love of God has overwhelmed me. When Aaron went into the holy of holies, he took all of Israel with him symbolically, however, when Christ through the eternal Spirit offered Himself to God, He took US (the redeemed) with Him within the veil. This was in the reality of the eternal Spirit. Does not John Chapter 3 come to mind? Listen with spiritual ears, as Moses lifted up the serpent. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: (John 3:14) This is the love of God. Christ died for the ungodly, He came to redeem sinners, not saints, yet, God’s love and mercy has saved me, and I have entered within the veil with Him. I have entered in with the highest Himself. Do not merely read words but listen to the words of the Spirit of grace in John 3:16, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Now, in light of this most wonderful truth, weigh your own soul in the balance. If you believe John 3:14, and are convinced of John 3:16, then you must weigh your own soul according to John 3:18-21.

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:18)

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. (John 3:19)

For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. (John 3:20)

But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. (John 3:21)

There is a section of the religious world that loves to proclaim that they have the full gospel. In examining their gospel, we find the absence of the full truth, the absence of full repentance, and the absence of the full witness in their lives. They are full all right, but not of the gospel. They have never been within the veil. This is a wonderful place: within this veil of grace, we have the assurance of our divine creation in Christ. He has witnessed by His Spirit within us and given us a divine nature. In ourselves, we have no right to enter in, yet, through the power of God, and only God, He (the Lord Jesus) has carried us in. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. (John 3:21)

The Seed of Wonder and Wonderful Working Within His Own

This is the wonder of our wonderful Savior working within us. It is no light thing that one of His many names and titles should be ‘Wonderful.’ For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6) The very first name documented is not Savior, nor is it Redeemer, but this name Wonderful takes us back before the world was in the very counsels of God, we see the wonder of the Wonderful, the Lord Jesus Christ. This is the first name in this list of names, yet it overshadows all the others with His own personal wonder. For He has taken us within the veil by the blood of his atonement, is not this wonderful? Let’s connect this Wonderful One to a type of His sacrifice found in the book of Judges.

Depart not hence, I pray thee, until I come unto thee, and bring forth my present, and set it before thee. And he said, I will tarry until thou come again. (Judges 6:18)

And Gideon went in, and made ready a kid, and unleavened cakes of an ephah of flour: the flesh he put in a basket, and he put the broth in a pot, and brought it out unto him under the oak, and presented it. (Judges 6:19)

And the angel of God said unto him, Take the flesh and the unleavened cakes, and lay them upon this rock, and pour out the broth. And he did so. (Judges 6:20)

Then the angel of the LORD put forth the end of the staff that was in his hand, and touched the flesh and the unleavened cakes; and there rose up fire out of the rock, and consumed the flesh and the unleavened cakes. Then the angel of the LORD departed out of his sight. (Judges 6:21)

The angel of the Lord here is the preincarnate Lord, Jesus Christ. He is also symbolized in the rock, and the sacrifice made by fire. And it was presented from under the oak: the tree, symbolically the Cross. Here it is not Gideon making the offering by fire, but God Himself in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ. The fire to consume the sacrifice comes from the end of His staff. The staff itself speaks of mercy, and the fire speaks of judgment. For mercy and truth are met together. Without judgment God could show no mercy. Love had to be stronger than the judgment. This is why He gave the Son of His love because Christ in His love is stronger than all judgment. The fire from the staff consumed the sacrifice. In the sacrifice of Gideon, all the elements of God the Son on the cross were met. The meat offering (or the present) speaks of His sinless flesh. In the word ‘present’ we have the gift of God. The ‘kid’ is a symbol of the youth and vitality of the life of Christ: for in Him was life, and the life was the light of man. (John 1) Also, in the meat offering, it had to be made with oil, this brings us to Hebrews Chapter 1, that Christ was anointed with the oil of gladness above His fellows. The unleavened cakes speak of the absence of leaven, void of sin. In the Lord, in Him was no sin. There was no fleshly or spiritual connection to Adam. He was a separate creation of man, all to Himself. We see this in the fine and pure flour. One thing we should notice: that the place of sacrifice is not spoken of as an altar, it is spoken of as a rock. This is the stone cut out not with hands. It is the rock that followed them through the wilderness, it is the Rock, the place of refuge for the saint. But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge. (Psalm 94:22) All must begin with the Rock, and He is the Rock that is cut out not with hands.

Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. (Daniel 2:34)

Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure. (Daniel 2:45) For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. (2 Corinthians 5:1)

(I am going to interject some Scriptures here for your own personal study. Matthew 21:42; Mark:12:10; Luke 20:17; Acts 4:11; Ephesians 2:20; 1 Peter 2:4, 7.)

Let us now return: as He was the stone cut out without hands, He is also the head stone of Zechariah 4:7: Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it. The headstone here is the Lord Jesus. Notice the crying, Grace, grace. For He is the author and finisher of all grace. This puts Him in the position as the headstone. Compare this with Psalm 118:19-24.

Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD: This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter. I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation. The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the LORD’S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes. This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

The wonder of all this had to come from within the veil. The fulfillment of all God’s counsel could not go forward until Christ entered into the veil above. Also read, 1 Peter 2:4-8:

To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, (1 Peter 2:4)

Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 2:5)

Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. (1 Peter 2:6)

Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, (1 Peter 2:7)

And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. (1 Peter 2:8)

The Rock of Eternity – The Rock of Sacrifice – The Stone of Glory

Read all these Scriptures carefully, the Rock of eternity and His glory is revealed. It is Christ Himself who is the foundation of all truth. It is Christ Himself who is the Rock of sacrifice. It is Christ Himself who is the Stone of glory crying to the world of man, Grace, grace unto it.

The Garments Inside the Veil

We have put away the rags of earthly life. We have begun our eternal life; we are dressed in new garments that the King has provided. We are dressed as a royal priesthood, whereby we can offer praise to our God. We have divine garments of glory; the world cannot see this. However, God sees them, and as priests we enter within the veil with our glorious High Priest, Melchisedec. Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. (Hebrews 6:20) We have washed our garments clean in the blood of the Lamb. And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. (Revelation 7:14) Even though this verse speaks of the tribulation saints, the theme of the spotless garment is one of the most wonderful themes that is found in the book of The Revelation of Jesus Christ. Here are a few references for our thoughts.

I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. (Revelation 3:18)

Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. (Revelation 16:15)

Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. (Revelation 19:7-8)

The garments are a testimony to that which is within the veil. The final presentation of the Lamb (that was slain before the foundation of the world) will be a virgin bride, made ready by the blood of His cross. (Psalm 45:13-17)

The king’s daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold. She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee. With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king’s palace. Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth. I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever.

She is presented to the king as an heir, and heir with him. As we have been made joint heirs with Christ, so we will put on the garments of beauty and holiness. And we will look upon Him as He is displayed with the garments of the great High Priest forever after the order and oath of Melchisedec.

We will ask the counsel of the Spirit as we bring Chapter 6 into Chapter 7. The warning to the Hebrews in Chapter 5, there were those who had become dull of hearing, Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec. Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. (Hebrews 5:10-11) Men have become dull of hearing. The Spirit of God proclaims loud and clear, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Chapter 6 Ends and Chapter 7 Begins

Chapter 6 finishes with the very undefinable name of Him who is higher than the heavens. Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. (Hebrews 6:20) Chapter 7 begins: For this Melchisedec . . .

The Undefinable Name: Wonderful — The Indefinable Name: Melchisedec

For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens. (Hebrews 7:26) The highest Himself bears the name Melchisedec as the eternal Priest. No man on earth could ever be named Melchisedec, only the eternal God as the eternal Priest, the great High Priest of the everlasting covenant could carry this undefinable name. Out of all the names in Scripture, the name Melchisedec remains the mystery of God, and He has entered within the veil for us. Thanks be unto God. Amen.

So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee. As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;(Hebrews 5:5-9)

This is for us, and also for the Israel of God.

(Psalm 47:1-4)

<<To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah.>> O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph. For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth. He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet. He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.
