My Story on Psalm 117

My Story on Psalm 117

O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people. (Psalm 117:1)

For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth  for ever. Praise ye the LORD. (Psalm 117:2)

What is it, O my soul, what would thou have, what would be thy delight to hear all nations proclaim praise to the name of Jesus Christ? Birds would sing heavenly anthems to the lamb once slain. Eagles would fly higher, the lions would roar louder, all creation would join in if they saw the sons of men praise God. If all the nations with one note, one anthem would sing the praises of the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me. The air would carry the sweet fragrance of spices and flowers. The earth would no longer groan, but would be glad and satisfied. The seas would sing with its surf, and the fishes would walk and dance on the waters if all men would praise the Lord. We have a merciful Creator. He is a God of kindness, and He has proclaimed from His holy throne that His mercy endureth for ever. Can you not wait to hear the voices of the angels as they would join in, if only the nations and the people would praise the Lord. Praise the truth of the Lord for His truth endureth forever. Praise the love of God for His love endureth forever. Praise the grace of God for the grace of God endureth forever. Praise His divine faith for His faith endureth forever. And praise the truth of salvation through Jesus Christ for His truth endureth forever. For the truth is in Jesus. O, to hear all men everywhere praise my Savior, my heart would burst from the fullness of Christ.
