Psalm 119 – The Road Map of Life

Psalm 119

The Road Map of Life

ALEPH

Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD. (Psalm 119:1)

As I passed from Psalm 19 to Psalm 119, I pondered my last statement in and about Psalm 19, that Psalm 19 leads us to the path of God in Psalm 119, and as man would put off his duty, I said that someday the Spirit would lead. Well then, in reading the last phrase that I had written about Psalm 19, I was jolted in my soul by the Spirit of God. He brought me to the phrase that I had just penned, ‘time will be no longer.’ This phrase woke me up to the reality of my own time and sojourn on planet Earth. Therefore, by the wisdom and the knowledge of the Spirit of God, here goes . . . Psalm 119 . . .

Psalm 119

The overview of this Psalm is tremendous. We see a great temple of truth for the complete superstructure is built by God Himself. The superstructure is supported by each pillar or verse. Each pillar has God’s engraving upon it, and each pillar stands by itself in the power of God. These pillars support the whole in this glorious temple. This temple is also divided into rooms. These rooms are the divisions or letters of the Hebrew alphabet. And each division leads into an inner chamber, the holy of holies. The Hebrew alphabet was not given by man, it was given by God, and this is verified in Psalm 119. For who but God could take an alphabetical structure and declare a path of righteousness for mankind to follow. Because the Hebrew alphabet is so remarkable I have not the knowledge or skill to do it justice. So, I will stay on the spiritual side of things, for in my lack of ability I have a great Mentor and Tutor, the Spirit of God.

ALEPH

The first thought that is brought before me is ALEPH. In the Greek language it would be Alpha. These both take me to the beginning of things. The first man, Adam, walked with God no doubt there were many conversations, but none of these conversations were recorded in the Word. Adam knew God, he knew the God of righteousness. He personally walked with his own Creator. Adam knew the power of his God and the works of the Almighty completely surrounded him. The whole of creation was a witness to Adam of his Creator. And God, as only God could do, gave to Adam intelligence. Adam was a being of intelligence, so that Adam could reason, and therefore, Psalm 119 brings us to the beginning.

Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.

Adam begins the long history of man. He begins with a walk, and this walk is with his Creator, and all that God had communed with him for Adam followed the steps of that communion. In Psalm 119 it is a blessing for the undefiled in the way to walk in the law of God. Even though the law of Moses had not yet been given, there were restrictions placed on mankind. We know that Adam (man) could not partake of the tree of good and evil, for it would bring forth his death. This was a law unto itself. A law was given and the failure to obey this law was death. We have no record of how soon this law was given to Adam and Eve, or the distance or time that passed, before the fall, however, we do know that Adam’s walk apart from God brought sin into the world. Before the fall, when he walked in the presence of God, he was truly blessed. He was an example of the man of Psalm 119, however, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil destroyed Adam’s chance to know all the glories that would be given in Psalm 119.

Blessed

The first word of Psalm 119 is ever present with the child of God. Each time we consider the word ‘blessed,’ it takes us to the sermon on the mount. Nine (9) times the Lord Jesus used the word ‘blessed.’

And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: (Matthew 5:1)

And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, (Matthew 5:2)

Blessed [are] the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:3)

Blessed [are] they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. (Matthew 5:4)

Blessed [are] the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. (Matthew 5:5)

Blessed [are] they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. (Matthew 5:6)

Blessed [are] the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. (Matthew 5:7)

Blessed [are] the pure in heart: for they shall see God. (Matthew 5:8)

Blessed [are] the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.(Matthew 5:9

Blessed [are] they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:10)

Blessed are ye, when [men] shall revile you, and persecute [you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. (Matthew 5:11)

The Spirit of God recorded all of this and notice how He begins. The Spirit of God said of the Lord Jesus Christ, He opened His mouth and taught. God had come in the flesh to walk with man, and to teach man, and on this occasion the Lord Jesus began with the word ‘blessed.’ Nine times He gave the spiritual interpretation of the word ‘blessed.’ This would be the finality of this interpretation, for it came from God the Son. The number 9 is the last single digit, it speaks of finality, and so, we see the finality (or the completeness) of those who are blessed of the Almighty God in Jesus Christ. The book of Psalms begins with the word ‘blessed,’ and the word ‘blessed’ is used in forty-seven (47) verses.

The Blessings Are Ours

This should give us a spiritual starting point in considering our own blessing in the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed are we, the people of God. We have been created in Jesus Christ with the power of an endless life. We are blessed with the Spirit of Christ within us, for Christ liveth in me. We are rich in our new beings, and all the treasure of heaven and earth belongs to our heavenly Master, the Lord Jesus Christ. And we are a spiritual people who have been called out of the earth for heaven. We are not of the earth, for we are joint heirs with the Man in heaven Jesus Christ. This alone is an untold blessing.

He Is Our Blessing

In the very word ‘blessed’ we see the blessed One, the Omnipotent One, the Lord Jesus Christ. We are blessed with the heavenly city of our God. The heavenly Jerusalem is the mother of us all. We are strangers upon this earth, and yet, we are blessed to be ambassadors for Christ. Our lives are spent praising God, and telling others of His glory, His grace, and His salvation. We serve Him as those who have been freed, and yet, we are bond servants to Him. We are no longer slaves to sin, but we stand in complete liberty as the sons of God. He has sent a great Teacher and Tutor in the Spirit of God. We are blessed now for we are no longer blind, but have eyes to see His glory. For our eyes have been opened. We have ears to hear His voice, for our ears have been unstopped. We have manna from heaven, for He is the bread of our life. He feeds us, and leads us with His eternal Word. This is the Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Each one of us who have been born of the Spirit of God has been given a mission to fulfill our lives for the glory of Christ. Our life is directed from heaven, and not from the earth. It is the GodMan in heaven who is the Captain of our salvation. He is the Captain of the Lord’s host. And as a new creature in Christ, we are part of that hope. Is this a new thought for you?

Another Creation by God

The reality is that the born again Christian is a new being created for heaven, and not for the earth. Our total being is unique for we have become a person within a person. We have a spirit and soul and heart that is heavenly, and we are encumbered by the flesh that is earthly. This makes us a two-part being. The proof of this is the flesh will stay behind, yet, we have a body that is not seen.

His New Body

When our Savior revealed Himself to His disciples, He had a new body, a glorified body, a magnificent body. This was to show us our real being as new creatures. Let’s listen to our Savior’s exact words.

And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? (Luke 24:38)

Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. (Luke 24:39)

And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet. (Luke 24:40)

And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? (Luke 24:41)

And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. (Luke 24:42)

And he took it, and did eat before them. (Luke 24:43)

And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. (Luke 24:44)

Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,(Luke 24:45)

And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: (Luke 24:46)

And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. (Luke 24:47)

And ye are witnesses of these things. (Luke 24:48)

And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. (Luke 24:49)

And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them. (Luke 24:50)

And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven. (Luke 24:51)

And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy: (Luke 24:52)

And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen. (Luke 24:53)

This is a wonderful thing. We have a confirmation of our new being for we shall be changed, and John in his 1st epistle tells us ‘we shall be like him.’ Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.(1 John 3:2) John confirmed our new likeness, for we shall be glorified with Him in His glory, and in His likeness. He presented to His disciples a body of flesh and bone, this is His glorified body. And this same Jesus will come again in His glorified body. This same Jesus with flesh and bone is now in heaven for us. He is the divine Man, and He has created each saint in His image. John reminds us of our present state, it does not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that we will be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ. This is one of God’s mysteries that He wants each and every one of us to hold it as a present reality for we walk not by sight but by faith. And in this new position we are surrounded by God’s grace. We are a new race of people, a people of divine beings called the sons of God.Have you had enough blessings yet?

The Undefiled in the Way – A New Body

We are blessed for we have been changed from the unclean thing to the clean thing, from the defiled to the undefiled, and we are in the way, the way of Christ. The Spirit of God built this temple of truth in Psalm 119 to show all generations the way that is everlasting. The Spirit of God knew by His own unction, and would give that precept of life everlasting through the everlasting Word of the Almighty God. The Spirit of God presents the way to eternal life. Even Job could say, when my change come, referring to a new body, and everlasting life in the Almighty God. If a man die, shall he live [again]? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come. (Job 14:14)

When we stand back and view this temple of truth (Psalm 119), it is so majestic that the very truths that it holds is the glory of the whole. If we were to stand on mount Pisgah (Numbers 23:14; Deuteronomy 3:27; 34:1) in our spiritual path, we would see Moses and the prophets, and we would behold the wonder of the Psalms. As we would see through the Spirit’s eyes, it would lead us to the New Testament and we would see the grand dome of the revelation of Jesus Christ. It is the Son of God’s love that must come forth to our hearts from the Word of God. We are blessed to have the abiding Spirit of Christ within us. This is blessed, blessed, blessed, blessed be the name of the Lord. And blessed are the undefiled in Christ. They are in the way. Blessed are the undefiled in the way. (Verse 1)

God knew that we would be able to see from a spiritual Pisgah, that we would be able to see the tangible promises of God through faith. That we would be able to see the wonders of heaven through His Word directed by the Spirit of God. That as man brought sin into the world, so the GodMan, Jesus Christ, took sin out of the world. This is the world of the redeemed. This world exists in spirit and truth. It is the way everlasting. It is the way of the undefiled. We have been set free by a glorified Man in heaven of flesh and bone. He possesses true matter in His own spiritual presence. He is a glorified Man of heaven, yet, He projects His presence on earth today in every true believer. Truly blessed are the undefiled in the way, the way everlasting. Blessed are the undefiled in the way. (Verse 1)

The closing verse of Hebrews 11 gives us great light here in Psalm 119:1. God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect. (Hebrews 11:40) For they (the undefiled in the way) without us should not be made perfect. This brings us to the end of the age. The last days, or the night is far spent and the day is at hand. So, therefore, let us walk in the day in the light of His grace. For we have been given a glorious window of truth in the very Person of our Savior and God Jesus Christ.

The Living Word and The Written Word United

The Living Word as the giver of His written Word is continually united with His own Word. It is designated in Hebrews Chapter 1:3 as the word of His power. We must remember that Christ declared to His disciples that all power in heaven and earth was given unto Him. In Hebrews, Chapter 7, the Lord Jesus has the power of an endless life. Now, with all this power could not the God of heaven and earth preserve and keep His written word undefiled in the way? The purity of the Word of God does not depend on man in any way. The Word of God is just as much a part of the divine Being as His flesh and bone. He passes His written Word from one soul to another by the Spirit of God and this He has done through the whole course of the time of man. All power means ALL power, this includes preserving His Word. He upholds ALL things by the Word of His power. Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;(Hebrews 1:3)

Now, I walk in the way for Christ claimed and proved that He was the way. So, I walk in Him, and He walks in me. He also declared that He was the truth, and this by the Spirit of God would be revealed to all those who believe in Him, from all ages, past, present and future. His power is not restricted to the church age. He is the Creator and He loves to create, and each and every day He is busy creating life in the souls of man. If the truth shall set you free, and the truth is in Jesus, then He and He alone is the source of all our liberty. And He is the life, and because He is the life, He has given me life, therefore, I walk in the way, I love the truth, and I am given life, all in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I love the true law of God for it shows me the way in which I should walk. It is based on the righteousness and truth of God. And it is based on the power of an endless life in Jesus Christ. So now are we blessed?

We are blessed in the way for all has become new. The old way is gone, and the way is clear that leads to the hope of glory. The Spirit is the present reality of our salvation. Faith is the anchor of grace in Jesus Christ for the blood of Christ cleanseth from ALL sin. We walk in the way with the divine Law Giver. When He spoke with Moses face to face, every word was given through His own divine righteousness. This righteousness has not changed, therefore, when He speaks to each child of God, it is based on His righteousness, and His law.It is from within the heart, and the soul, and the spirit that God creates a holy place where all is new and undefiled. And God’s Spirit teaches me to love the law of God, and to walk in it. There is a big difference between being under the law, and being justified by the Law Giver. Truly the things I do cannot always agree with the law of God, and without justification in Jesus Christ I would be under the penalty of the law. There is, therefore, a spiritual law within me, and this is the law of grace and truth in Jesus Christ. The Lord proclaimed, If a man love me he will keep my commandments.

If ye love me, keep my commandments. (John 14:15)

This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.(John 15:12)

He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. (John 14:21)

Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. (John 14:23)

Blessed by God’s Law and God’s Grace

The law of God has not changed for it is holy and true. Christ did not come to change the law, but to uphold it and to magnify it. He magnified it to show us the value of His grace, and to show us how blessed we are for we are free from the penalty of our crimes against the law. We are free in Christ because it is His work upon the cross bearing our judgment that sets us free. Your crimes against the law were all satisfied in the death and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. If we stand back and look in awe, we will see a great massive mountain that was unclimbable. This is the law of God. It is unclimbable for the flesh, and brings the flesh under its judgment. However, now enters the Spirit of grace, grace freed me, but does not give me license to break the law. This takes us all the way back to Psalm 19, verses 12 and 13, and the words of Paul in Romans Chapter 7, verse 14 through 25

Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. (Psalm 19:12 – 13)

For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. (Romans 7:14)

For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. (Romans 7:15)

If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.(Romans 7:16)

Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. (Romans 7:17)

For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. (Romans 7:18)

For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.(Romans 7:19)

Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. (Romans 7:20)

I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. (Romans 7:21)

For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: (Romans 7:22)

But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. (Romans 7:23)

O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? (Romans 7:24)

I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. (Romans 7:25)

Don’t stumble here! This goes back to the two bodies. One body is the dreaded flesh, and the other is the spiritual body. So that Paul would declare in Romans Chapter 7, verse 22, that he delights in the law of God in the inward man. However, there is another law, and this law is the law of sin and death. This brought Paul to state this: Oh, wretched man that I am. He had, however, been delivered from this body of death by the Lord Jesus Christ. And at this point, the Spirit of God presents to us the flood of grace and Spirit in Romans Chapter 8. This flood of grace is greater than the flood of judgment in the day of Noah. Noah’s flood gave death under the law of sin and death but the flood of grace gives life everlasting to all who will believe in Jesus Christ.

In our pilgrimage below we are not alone. We are spiritual beings in the Spirit of Christ. We are not alone for we have a company, and innumerable company of angels. Do you believe the Word of God? Consider Hebrews 1:13 and 14. But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? (Hebrews 1:13 – 14) These verses in Hebrews are ignored by many in the church, however, the angels have a voice to us today. These verses are just as much Spirit as they are, and they speak to our spirits. They can hear us, and they can know our thoughts, for they are united as well with the Spirit of Christ. They speak from spirit to spirit. There is a presence that we may not perceive, yet, this presence is real, for it is their ministry, the ministry of angels. (Hebrews 1:14) This ministry is to the redeemed, the heirs of salvation, the joint heirs with Jesus Christ: which makes us, as the children of God, the sons of God. Children have you any meat?

Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD. (Psalm 119:1)

Now are we blessed in the way. We love the law of God, yet, we are blessed to be free from it for we stand under a higher mountain than the mountain of the law. It is the mountain of grace, however, the mountain of grace embraces us (we don’t have to climb it like the law). Grace embraces us with the love of God in Christ Jesus. We have been brought into the bosom of the Father in Christ. (John1:18) No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. Now, you may have not seen this, but the bosom contains the heart, and the heart is the seat of God’s love for He loved me and gave Himself for me. (Galatians 2:20) This is too wonderful for pen, ink and paper (or even for a computer keyboard). Only the Spirit of God can show us the real beauties of Christ. They are everlasting beauties and far beyond our comprehension of the Son of His love. Yet, God who perfects in us the Person of His Son brings us into the subjection of Christ. This is the working of the very mind of Christ within us to perfect us to His image. It is quite evident that the spiritual being within wars against the flesh, or our outward being. This we can understand from apostle Paul as well as our own convictions. In my flesh is no good thing. So it is the spiritual being that serves Christ, and in that service for Christ he must battle his own flesh, and in many cases, he battles the flesh of others as well. For the flesh around us wants to bring us into the same bondage that they are in. They cannot understand the liberty which is in the children of God. That if the Son shall set you free, you shall be free indeed. It is the Spirit of Christ within me that rejects the world around me, therefore, it is His Spirit within me that serves Christ, and not the flesh (my own flesh or even others). This is why we have the Spirit’s writing through the apostle Paul to reveal the immensity of this conflict between the world, the flesh, and the devil. This is why the Spirit of God takes us to Pisgah and lets us look back at Psalm 119. It becomes a window of this inner and outer battle.

Psalm 119 draws us into the temple and away from the world. We look at God’s building, God’s truth, God’s righteousness, and then we see the contrast between the evil world and God’s righteousness. Faith is the capability that God gives so that we may be obedient children doing the will of our God. In Christ we are fulfilling the whole law of God, for Christ has fulfilled it for us. Each time the devil brings up sin in me, I point to the cross of Christ, my Redeemer. He is my Daysman, and He stands between my sin and God. For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in judgment. Neither is there any daysman betwixt us, that might lay his hand upon us both. (Job 9:32, 33) For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;(1 Timothy 2:5) He has literally taken my sins out of the way, like the scapegoat in Leviticus, He has sent it (my sin) into the wilderness never to be seen again. This is why Romans, Chapter 8, rings so loud and clear; there is therefore now no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit. Once again, we are faced with this duplex being of flesh and spirit, however, my walk must be after the Spirit. And in the Spirit I walk in the law of God in Christ Jesus for He fulfills all the righteousness of God, therefore, I am made righteousness in Him. One of the wonders of the new birth is that you remember the exact moment, it is not like the natural birth, for the Spirit of God comes as a mighty wind in the heart. It is truly a wonderful work. For in a moment of time, we are born into a whole new spiritual world: a spiritual world filled with the Person of Jesus Christ and His grace.

Blessed

The word ‘blessed’ is a marvelous word. With one voice it proclaims, Blessed is the man (Psalm 1:1). Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. In another voice or tone, the word declares 10 times in the book of Psalms, Blessed be the LORD. (The number 10 ends the order of single digits and begins a new order of double digits, representing the perfection of God’s order in that through God all is completed in perfection). In Psalm 1 it is the walk that brings blessedness to man for walking not with the ungodly, nor standing in the way of sinners, nor partaking of the actions of sinners, nor sitting in the seat of the scornful. For our place is in the throne of grace, and sitting with Christ.

The man without Christ has been blinded by his own sin in the flesh of Adam. It takes the Spirit of God to come over that man and open the eyes of the heart, the soul, and the spirit. With true conviction I moved to true repentance, yes, I am still undone, I am still defiled in the way, I am still guilty by the law, and I am still under the law of sin and death. Woe is me, for I am undone. What a state to be in, I try to take my mind off my sin by playing the games of the world, and I listen to the voices of the adversary of my soul, the devil. The devil tells me there is no hope, now, a power from on high, from the throne of God, from a divine Man calls through His own Spirit, I am the way, this is the way of the cross that leads home. But I have been living with the swine and have been eating their food, yet, He declares to me, I am the bread of life, and only I can give manna from heaven, for I am the truth. He proclaimed to Satan himself that man does not live by bread alone, but my every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Now, faith takes me to the highest Himself, now, faith proclaims God’s grace to me, and God’s grace leads me in the power of an endless life.

Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.(Psalm 119:1)

Now, does this first verse in Psalm 119 have more meaning for you? For it is a blessed verse for the undefiled who are in the way of God, and who walk in the law of the Lord.

Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; (Hebrews 10:15-16)

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. (Hebrews 10:22)

Hebrews Chapter 10 connects us to the words of the psalmist. For Christ is the law of God. He is the righteousness of God, and He through His marvelous grace takes His abode within us, and walks within us by His Spirit. This is why the apostle Paul could write that he delighted in the law of God. And inHebrews we find that in this new creation the law is written on our hearts and in our minds. Everything that we do becomes the personal wishes of the Law Giver Jesus Christ. So that we can say, I delight to do thy will O God. We are in a way that is everlasting. Our walk with Christ will never end, and we are truly blessed by all spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus.

In Psalm 1, Blessed is the man, what a way for the Holy Spirit of God to begin this marvelous book of blessedness. Blessed is contained in forty-seven verses, and through these verses the Holy Spirit teaches us the true definition of blessed. As the Lord on the sermon on the mount, the Spirit lifts our spirit to the mountain of the Psalms to meditate on every word, as the man who is blessed meditates on the law of the Lord day and night. How can this be? The Lord has said, I will put my law in their hearts and minds. Now, for our assurance, Psalms 2 ends with, Blessed are all they that put their trust in him. The man in Psalm 1 finds trust in the law of the Lord. They of Psalm 2 find trust in the very Person of the Lord. And the Spirit repeats this in Psalm 119, verse 2, We trust and seek him with a whole heart.

This brings us to the root of our salvation which is in Jesus Christ. The world today whether religious or nonreligious preach a partial salvation. And truly, from their actions and their results, one could believe them for their religion is merely man made. For man tells the lost soul that God can save only part of them, and the other part they can keep for themselves. What rubbish is this liberal false gospel, for they have no conception of the age of grace and truth in Jesus Christ. Will a part of them go to heaven? What part? A hand, a foot, this sounds ridiculous, yet, under the guise of truth they preach the lies of Satan. Man believes that he does not have to give up anything for salvation is free. You fool! You have to give up everything! For ye are dead and your life is hid in Christ in God. Did Christgive a part of Himself? No, He gave all for you. Does He want a part of you in return? Does He want only your big toe? Let’s be reasonable. Salvation is all, true salvation, saves all of you. Would a man only want to be conformed to Christ’s big toe? Or only have twenty nine days of eternal life? Which is impossible. What part of heaven would you like? Do you see the pure foolishness in the preaching of a partial salvation? God did not give part, He gave His all. He loved me and gave Himself for me, and on man’s part, He expects all. My life becomes His life, His life becomes my life. For Christ liveth in me. In this partial salvation we see the complete blindness of mankind for man either adds to or takes away from the true gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is with the heart that man believes, and it is with the heart that God reveals Himself. And it is the heart that is redeemed that now has the law of God within it. This is given by the Spirit of the Law Maker Jesus Christ. For grace . . . (wait now) . . . and truth came by Jesus Christ. The Lord never declared that He was the partial way, or that He was the partial truth, or that He was the partial life. It is the whole of Christ or nothing for the lost sinner! With the partial gospel and partial salvation, ye will die in your sins. This is the result of the world’s partial salvation. Men use the name of God, yet, turn away from the name Jesus Christ. It is not the names of Yahweh, or YHWH, or Adonai, or ‘elohiym or Elohiym, or Jehovah that upsets them, it is the name of Jesus Christ that brings misery to their souls and spirits, and they rebel against the very name of the Savior of men: the Son of God’s love, Jesus Christ.Lets return to Psalm 119 verses 1 and 2.

ALEPH. Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.(Psalm 119:1)

Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. (Psalm 119:2)

Blessed are the undefiled who are in God’s way. And that way is in Jesus Christ, so they walk in the law of the Lord. In the Spirit of Christ they keep His testimonies or His truth, and they seek Him with a whole heart, not 1/4 of a heart, not ½ a heart, not 3/4 of a heart, but with a whole heart, 100% heart. Their hearts are tuned by Christ Himself. He gives them the music of their salvation. He gives them the blessing of eternal life. And He gives them the voice of the Spirit within them.

As Psalm 119 begins with ‘blessed’ we have in this one word an overview of the whole psalm. For in this Psalm there are blessings evermore. When I read Psalm 119, almost every verse brings a thought of Jesus Christ. I see Him in the law, I see Him in the walk, I see Him in the way, I see Him in the truth, I see Him in His commandments, and I see Him in the law of the Lord. The next study we will deal with the words ‘blessed by God’, and ‘blessed in God.’ It will cover Psalm 119, verse 1 and verse 2, for the lines have fallen unto me in pleasant places. Amen.
