Come and See

Chapter 10 of the Gospel of John

Verily, Verily

Part ix

Master and Lord

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.  (John 10:1)

♦

Come and see the works of God: he is terrible in his doing toward the children of men. (Psalm 66:5)

For I [know] their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come and see my glory. (Isaiah 66:18)

♦

He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about tenth hour. (John 1:39)

And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see. (John 1:46)

And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see. (John 11:34)

♦

Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; (Philippians 1:27)

♦

And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see. (Revelation 6:1)

And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. (Revelation 6:3)

And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. (Revelation 6:5)

And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. (Revelation 6:7)

Introduction to Verily, Verily

—— ♦——

Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death. (John 8:51)

In our study of John 10:1, I mentioned, Verily, verily, or truly, truly, or Amen and Amen, and I am moved to return to this important point. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. (John 10:1) In the racing world, it would be known as a pit stop to prepare our car for what is ahead, to open up our chances to see the invisible. So, I am moved to return to this point of importance not only for the value of Verily, verily, but how the Spirit of Christ uses this combination throughout the gospel of John, and ONLY IN the gospel of John. It is evident that the three gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke are predominately of the earth. However, John by the Spirit of God takes us into the unseen world, into the mind of Christ, and into the revelation of God. We pass from the temporal world to the spiritual world in the first three gospels in that we can see the horizon of the earth: Matthew is the gospel of the king, Mark reveals God’s faithful servant in every way, and Luke unfolds the Son of man in a divine form as the Man from heaven. However, in John, we have heavenly things such as the eternal Word being made flesh and being God.  Angels ascend and descend upon the Son of man as the Spirit of God looks down from above wherein the three preceding gospels it is the world looking up. In the gospel according to John, it is the Spirit of Christ opening to us spiritual truths found nowhere else in the Scriptures. This reveals the very importance of Verily, verily in the gospel of John. Before we begin, I will list all the verses that have the words Verily, verily.

1. And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man. (John 1:51)

2. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (John 3:3)

3. Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. (John 3:5)

4. Verily, verily, I say  unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. (John 3:11)

5. Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. (John 5:19)

6. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (John 5:24)

7.  Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. (John 5:25)

8. Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. (John 6:26)

9.Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. (John 6:32)

10.Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. (John 6:47)

11.Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. (John 6:53)

12. Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. (John 8:34)

13. Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death. (John 8:51)

14. Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. (John 8:58)

15. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. (John 10:1)

16.Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. (John 10:7)

17. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. (John 12:24)

18.Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. (John 13:16)

20. When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. (John 13:21)

21. Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice. (John 13:38)

22.Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater [works] than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. (John 14:12)

23.Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. (John 16:20)

24. And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give [it] you. (John 16:23)

25. Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry [thee] whither thou wouldest not. (John 21:18)

The different subject matter found with each Verily, verily is extremely important. The Spirit of God emphasizes these verses so that we might know and understand the mind of the Spirit of Christ. Let’s take each Verily, verily together, and open the mind of the Spirit so that we might understand and receive of the glories of Christ. This will take some time, but I believe that this will be our only opportunity to see these truths within the veil. I suggest that you read the previous articles on Verily, verily.

Master and Lord

 —— ♦——

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. (John 13:16)

To go where man, in Adam, is not allowed is one of the privileges of the child of God in discerning and dissecting the word of God. Have you ever considered how wonderful your new birth is? Look what God has showed you in His word, giving you the mind of Christ. The world cannot talk to God as a child of the most high God. A man of the world cannot claim sonship in the kingdom of God’s dear Son. And the wonder and privileges of every child from the moment of their new birth they are servants of their Creator with no exceptions. Every child of God is enrolled in the school of God by the atoning blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. And happy are ye if you know these things and do them. If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them. (John 13:17)

This is the quest set before us. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. (James 1:25) So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. (James 2:12) The world gets so caught up in the religious notion of the commands and ordinances that were given to Israel as law and commandments for them to follow, and by following they would receive the blessings of God. We know that they failed for it is recorded in God’s word the failure of Israel from the very beginning of the wanderings in the wilderness. However, there are many laws of God that man do not acknowledge, we have the Law of Sin and Death, and we have the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus, we have the Law of Faith, and we have the Law of Liberty. The Law of Liberty sets us free from the Law of Sin and Death. It also gives us the ability to serve God and abide within Him in this perfect Law of Liberty. The Law of Liberty controls the servant’s desires. He desires to be faithful to the God who has called him out of darkness and into His marvelous light. He is happy to acknowledge as Paul that he is a bond servant of Christ. And he acknowledges from his heart that Christ is his Lord and Master. Our quest is set before us to KNOW the word of God without and within. To carry the word of God in mind heart, spirit and soul. And mediate therein day and night. Always sharpening the sword of the spirit which is the word of God so that the child of God may give an answer to every man for his faith in his Lord and Master Jesus Christ. The footprints of faith to faith is very important for each step that the servant takes in faith is multiplied by faith in ones heart. The servant becomes more aware of his worthlessness, and more aware of the strength of Christ within. As he serves his Master, he is brought to an awareness of his dependence upon the Son of God and only the true servant can relate to his true Master. The world has all kinds of ploys and traps, and our Master and Lord has been watching the children of men for a long long time. Therefore, He is able to diagnose our weaknesses and supply the word of faith through the word of His power. It is His Spirit within who has anointed our minds and hearts with the word of God. We become accustomed to that still small voice within. For both guidance and for correction. In our new birth we have been translated into the kingdom of God’s dear Son. And from this kingdom, we have been sent into the world by our Master and Lord. If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet. (John 13:14)

We are placed in a position of servitude in the vineyard of God’s dear Son to serve Him gladly and happily as the sons of God, and our deportment and actions are very important to Him. When we need correction, He is there to instruct us, once again we hear that still small voice, and if need be, He will chasten His own.

And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: (Hebrews 12:5)

For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. (Hebrews 12:6)

If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? (Hebrews 12:7)

But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. (Hebrews 12:8)

Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? (Hebrews 12:9)

For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. (Hebrews 12:10)

Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. (Hebrews 12:11)

If we know these things, and receive them into our hearts, souls and spirit. Then we are happy in the Lord. Although the storm may be boisterous, the waves may be strong, the winds may be fierce, but that still small voice simply proclaims, Peace, be still, and then there is a great calm in the soul. And within, we say to ourselves, What manner of man is this that speaks from heaven in a still small voice. He is that same Jesus who loved His own to the end. Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end. (John 13:1) In the divine words, It is finished, words from the lips of the Creator of all things, He concluded and finished the grand work of redemption in the love that is within the Sovereign of all things, the Master and Lord.

Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for [so] I am. (John 13:13)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. (John 13:16)

Righteousness Through the Sacrifice of the Master and Lord

—— ♦——

Those words go in two directions, they go back to the very beginning of faith in Abel. By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. In Hebrews 11:4, we see the excellent sacrifice that Abel offered to God. The first born lamb, a male, with no outward or inward blemishes, and cared for by Abel’s own hand. It is by faith that Abel offered this sacrifice unto God knowing that there was redemption and righteousness to be had in his obedience to God, and to offer what God proclaimed would be accepted. Abel knew that the excellent sacrifice was a future sacrifice of God for the sin of man. Therefore, Abel could only obtain righteousness through the Lord Jesus Christ in the fullness of time.

Faith also was available in the present for the Lord had already declared to the dying thief, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. (Luke 23;43) Then we have the future of faith which embraced all the apostles and those who would walk by faith till this very moment in time, and into the future, when Christ sits on His millennial throne. Faith includes believing in a new heaven and a new earth wherein righteousness shall dwell, and the center of this righteousness will be, and is, the Lord and Master, Jesus Christ. So He loves us who have not seen His face; yet, believe by faith, and He has called us from above. We have answered this faith with our heart, soul and spirit to the Lord and Master, the Man Jesus Christ. It is with the heart that man believes.

But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; (Romans 10:8)

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Romans 10:9)

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:10)

Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for [so] I am. (John 13:13)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. (John 13:16)

Eternal Life Through the Master and Lord

—— ♦——

We also have the words from the very lips of the Lord Jesus in John Chapter 11, when He was speaking to Martha, He declared that belief in Him would fulfill His power of resurrection, He also declared that those who believed in Him would NEVER die and that they would be recipients of His eternal life. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: (John 11:25) And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? (John 11:26) We see that the Lord requires belief in Him, there is neither salvation, nor the work of redemption in any other. It is Christ who is the Center of God’s plan of redemption concerning the children of Adam. The Lord was quite precise when He said he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. These were the words of eternal life. In verse 25 and 26 of John Chapter 11, the Lord of glory makes Himself the Center object of salvation, and resurrection. And no one reaches the Father but by Him. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6) This leaves all other ways, all other names, all other beliefs that they are all the evil works of man’s mind, the mind of enmity against God.

And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled (Colossians 1:21) In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: (Colossians 1:22)

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;  (Ephesians 2:1)

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: (Ephesians 2:2)

Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. (Ephesians 2:3)

But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, (Ephesians 2:4)

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved; )  (Ephesians 2:5)

And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: (Ephesians 2:6)

because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. (Romans 8:7)

As we examine where we have come from, we rejoice in where we are in Christ Jesus in heavenly places. The word of God has no praise for Adam or for his children. The Spirit of God, through divine revelation, has shown us our state in Adam when we came into this world. We were part of the curse of this world under the curse of the Law of Sin and Death, and the Law of Sin and Death has kept us bound in shackles fulfilling the lust of the flesh, this is ALL mankind without Christ. As the Scripture declares, man in Adam walks to the beat of the prince of the power of the air. It is he, the devil, who directs man into the depths of the devil’s evil pit of sin. Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: (Ephesians 2:2) It is the devil’s spirit that works in the children of disobedience. This, of course, was the disobedient sin of Adam. Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (Romans 5:12) In Ephesians 2:3, we are gathered as the children of God who were in times PAST children of disobedience, even as others. Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. (Ephesians 2:3) This puts all of Adam under sin and the prince of the power of the air showing us our PAST fallen state in Adam till we trusted in Christ, and have been divinely changed in a new creation, and NOW we are the children of God through the miracle and the mystery of our own supernatural birth in Christ, the Master and Lord.

Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. (John 13:13)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. (John 13:16)

The Creator is Master and Lord

—— ♦——

To His disciples He acknowledged their respect for the holy, for they called Him Master and Lord as we see in verse 13. To His disciples this put Him above ALL others, and He replied to them, confirming these titles of Master and Lord, for so I am. Of course, this is one more identification with the great I AM of Exodus Chapter 3. This element of respect and reverence is missing today. Man would like the benefits of a loving Creator and Redeemer but will not surrender heart, soul, and spirit to the Master and Lord of all things. For they love this present evil world, and NOT the Master and Lord of all things. This is why we see in the world church the name of Jesus is used WITHOUT the title of Lord or of Master. For He, the Lord of glory, has no place in their hearts. Their lips betray them when they speak without reverence for the Creator of all things. And if you give them enough time, and listen closely, they will talk themselves out of heaven for the things of the earth. It is sad to say that the masses, those in the valley of decision, know not the Lord Jesus Christ as Master and Lord. When we acknowledge the Lord Jesus as Emmanuel, we have the Scripture interpretation and the mind of the Spirit of God to clarify that the manifest image that was presented to man was God Himself. If we put Matthew 1:23 together with Colossians 1:15, we have the mind of the Spirit of God telling us and the world this was NOT a Man like any other man.

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. (Matthew 1:23)

Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: (Colossians 1:15)

Christ came to dwell among men not to befriend the world, but to expose the children of Adam to the depth of sin and to the depths of their own sins, and show them (by divine revelation) the need of their own souls.

This was the Holy and Righteous God of creation. Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; (Hebrews 1:2) This is the One who embraces all of eternity. He came down to dwell among men not to befriend the world, but to expose the children of Adam to the depth of sin and to the depths of their own sins, and show them (by divine revelation) the need of their own souls. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? (Mark 8:36) As the children of God we marvel, our hearts speak out with these words, Who is like unto thee? Thy righteousness also, O God, [is] very high, who hast done great things: O God, who [is] like unto thee! (Psalm 71:19) The Master of all things, and the Lord of all things embraces and encompasses eternity, yet, through His example, He walked in pure holiness, and in pure righteousness among men.

Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. (John 13:13)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.(John 13:16)

Kiss the Son, Master and Lord

—— ♦——

To His disciples, and to us, He taught by example, and by word throughout the gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. He continually reminded His disciples to follow the words that He spoke and to walk in the example that He Himself showed them. These words and examples of His life were left for all the children of God in all ages, to follow their Master and Lord, the Creator of all things. The Bible proclaims that man should call on the name of the Lord, and His name is The Lord Jesus Christ. There is holiness, righteousness, and perfection associated with and beheld by the Lord Jesus Christ, the Man in heaven for us. We should give Him more reverence for He has completed the work of redemption in the fullness of time, and He now sits upon the throne of righteousness with all power in heaven and earth given unto Him. You don’t have to kiss His ring, but the Bible states, Kiss the Son. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him. (Psalm 2:12)

Do you think that this position has changed? If you do, you do not understand the holiness, and righteousness of the One who has finished the work of redemption on the cross of Calvary, and now sits on the throne of all righteousness. (Hebrews 1:8) When the disciples were gathered together as documented in Chapter 13, there was a foreign spirit among them, it was the spirit of the prince of the power of the air, in the man called Judas, the Lord Jesus knew His betrayer from the beginning. Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil? (John 6:70) In Chapter 13, the pretender is exposed, and the very cup of redemption is offered; however, Judas was consumed of the devil. Satan entered into him because Judas was always one of his children. It was Judas who carried ‘the bag’ that held the money for all the disciples. Judas loved money more than his Creator. When Mary anointed the Lord for His death, Judas rebuked her because of his fixation on the worth of the ointment; he could not see the worth of the One who was being anointed. Judas was not satisfied with the value that Mary placed on Christ, however, he was satisfied with thirty pieces of silver for betraying the Lord and Master of all creation. This anointing by Mary was a specific work of the Spirit of God in Mary’s heart. I am sure with her love for the Savior, if it were possible, she would have given the whole world, if it had been in her power. She took the one thing that God had given to her, and the only thing that assured her future security and used it to anoint the Lord with the oil of gladness above His fellows. This oil was a symbol of her own personal wealth; thus, revealing that Mary understood the full compass of what she was doing; she was performing a death ceremony prior to the Lord’s crucifixion. This was not a celebration of joy, but it was the gloomy forecast of the Lord’s death. Christ acknowledged, to His disciples that this oil was the anointing of His own death. We should realize that this came after He had raised Lazarus from the tomb and out of the grasp of death. Mary was not only showing her love, but also her understanding that her heart and soul would be wrenched at the Savior’s death. Jesus wept. (John 11:35) Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him! (John 11:36) In John Chapter 11, the Jews recognized the Savior’s love for Lazarus, and we see that love in the tear on the Lord’s cheek for Lazarus, and the Holy Spirit makes sure we will not forget the love of the Lord Jesus and the love of Mary with her tears.

Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment. (John 12:3)

But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. (Luke 10:42)

Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. (John 13:13)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.(John 13:16)

The Great Love of the Master and Lord

—— ♦——

Even today it is this affection and love that He is seeking among the multitudes who speak of Him with unclean lips having connected their faith and redemption with the prosperity and laud of the world and know not the Master and Lord in heaven, the Man and Lord, Jesus Christ. The words that He spoke while on earth are recorded by the Holy Spirit of God in the word of God with the same power and purpose as the very moment that He spoke them. And in the same power of His word today, He speaks from heaven through His Spirit and reaffirms to those who love Him, I will come unto you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. (John 14:18) And I will speak from heaven. See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: (Hebrews 12:25)

This particular Verily, verily in verse 16 comes after the Lord had washed the feet of the disciples showing them an example of how He loved them, as we have seen in verse 16 of Chapter 13. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. This was an example that they were to carry into the world after the Lord’s resurrection and ascension that they, one by one, would walk in His steps and carry His cross proclaiming the words that He spoke from above. They would travel through the world weeping over precious souls. The Lord was quite explicit in His words, As I have loved you, so love one another. A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. (John 13:34) Do you see the force in the word ‘commandment’? This was not a light thing. The love where with He was giving His own life was to be IN them for each other, and for others. How many times, have you heard the words, ‘I love you brother’, or ‘sister’ with no meaning behind those words. It is a shallow phrase of the world of the religious man, and not the love of Christ. This was a commandment given to the Lord’s disciples. Just as effective as the commandments given to Moses. He gave them this commandment while He was with them as the example of His own love by washing their feet. If we examine this verse (34) the Savior refers to His own love for them, as I have loved you. With that same depth of love they were to love one another, as I have loved you. Peter was so vocal that his feet were not to be washed, after the Lord kindly corrected Peter in love, do you think that the mind of Peter would go back to the waves and wind on the sea of Galilee? When not only Peter, but ALL the disciples proclaimed, What manner of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obeyed Him; truly, He is not like any other man for He sits upon the throne of righteousness in heaven for us.

The Lord Jesus made the claim that He was equal with the Father. He also made the claim that He was sent from heaven to be the obedient Son and servant. The Holy Spirit draws this out in a beautiful portrait of the humility of God’s dear Son, and His effectual work.

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: (Philippians 2:5) Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: (Philippians 2:6) But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: (Philippians 2:7) And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. (Philippians 2:8)

From verses 5 to 8 we have His path on earth as Jehovah’s servant, and God’s faithful Son. The very One who has the power of an endless life went into death, even the death of the cross to show the ultimate love, the love of God in the Man Christ Jesus. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:13)

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: (Philippians 2:9) That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; (Philippians 2:10) And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:11)

Now we have the Man in heaven with that same love for His own. We have a High Priest over the house of God, whose house are we. There is no building, but a Body. There is no flesh, but spirits of just men made perfect. We have such a High Priest, and He is made higher than the heavens. Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. (Hebrews 3:6)

For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; (Hebrews 7:26)

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. (Hebrews 4:15) Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16)

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: (Ephesians 1:17)

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, (Ephesians 1:18)

And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, (Ephesians 1:19)

Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, (Ephesians 1:20)

Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: (Ephesians 1:21)

And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, (Ephesians 1:22)

Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. (Ephesians 1:23)

Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. (John 13:13)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. (John 13:16)

The Master and Lord Judges

—— ♦——

All these verses are of no avail if Christ is not your Master and Lord. We need to peek into the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, in Chapter 4 and 5, and see ALL the saints of God bowing down and worshiping the One who sits upon the throne. This is the SAME One who redeemed them, and us, by His blood. There are no questions in their hearts whether He is Master or Lord for they acknowledge Him above all powers, and they attribute to Him, ALL glories that are found in heaven, on earth, and under the earth. The result is this: that in their glorified state they see the One who redeemed them as Master and Lord with NO equal in heaven, on earth, or under the earth. There is no division among the saints, they accept the fact that Christ is both Master and Lord of ALL things in heaven, on earth, and under the earth. So how in the world today can there be these divisions among the children of God? Some claim salvation without lordship. Some want all the benefits of a loving God without that God and Creator having mastery over them. The same power and the same love that endured the cross of shame and gave His life has been exalted by God the Father with a name of reverence and exalted higher then the heavens.

Judas was in the company of the Savior, he saw all the miracles performed by the Lord Jesus, he listened to the words that flowed from the mouth of righteousness, and yet, although he professed discipleship, Christ was NOT his Master and Lord. There are no degrees of salvation, no where in the Scriptures are the children of God divided into sectarian groups. Each and every child of God is called, and is a son. You see there is no Jew, no bond, no male and no female, but all are sons, and each and every son is a servant of his Master and Lord carrying the word of God into a godless world of enmity and darkness against the Almighty God. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:28)

The darkness cannot comprehend the Light; however, the pretenders try to imitate the light. It is God’s word, and God’s word alone that separates the children of God from the children of men. They appease their own consciences, being children of Adam under sin. By the multitude of their religions all is founded, kept and maintained by man and not the Master and Lord of all creation.

It is all power that is given unto Him. And He upholds that power by the Word of His power through the power of His endless life. Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life. (Hebrews 7:16) Who is made NOT. . . after the law of a carnal commandment. What is this law of a carnal commandment? It is the Law that Adam’s Creator gave Adam and Eve to go forth and multiply. This does not apply to the endless life of the Lord Jesus Christ which He possessed before the Body that was prepared for Him in heaven. For God is Spirit, and God existed in Spirit BEFORE any movement of creation. God revealed Himself IN that very same Body that would come forth in the fullness of time in the Lord Jesus Christ. He possessed THAT BODY when He created all things, (Hebrews 1:2) and NOW, He is sat down on the throne of righteousness. (Hebrews 1:8) He is IN that SAME BODY that was risen from the dead and ascended on high.

It is quite evident that the world has rejected God’s Christ. For those who have the Spirit of Christ within, it is evident that the world’s professing church has also rejected God’s Christ. The world is being preparing and groomed for the BIG LIE under the man of sin. We see this every day in the lies propitiated by governments as truths. All across the world nations and peoples are living in a fantasy of lies. This is nothing new. If you want to take some time and go back to Genesis Chapter 6 and understand that those who existed in that world before the flood lived in a fantasy of lies and deception. Their imagination was not just evil, but it was continually evil, meaning that it multiplied day by day, week by week, month by month, and year by year. Until the Lord looked down from heaven and had enough of their lies and of the evil imaginations.

The one man who found grace in the sight of the Lord was Noah because he had faith in the most high God possessor of heaven and earth. God gave Noah the final call to the earth and its people, and they refused to accept God’s last message to them; thus, God righteously judged them.

Not only do we have the imagination and the lies of government, but we have the lying news grifters who have captured the people with their hallucinatory lies. Truth is not in all their thoughts or their ways, and their vain imagination is continually evil, consequently they are not only facing the judgment of God, but they are deliberately and brazenly taunting God to judge them.

Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: (Isaiah 29:13)

Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid. (Isaiah 29:14)

Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us? (Isaiah 29:15)

Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter’s clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding? (Isaiah 29:16)

Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. (Isaiah 26:20), behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain. (Isaiah 29:21)

because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves: (Isaiah 28:15)

Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have despised the law of the LORD, and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them to err, after the which their fathers have walked: (Amos 2:4)

O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit. (Jeremiah 16:19) Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods? (Jeremiah 16:20) Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is The LORD. (Jeremiah 16:21)

As Judas, people today, the children of Adam, the children of men, are under the sway and the influence of their father, the devil, the prince of the power of the air.

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (John 8:44)

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: (Ephesians 2:2)

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; (1st Timothy 4:1) Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; (1st Timothy 4:2)

These children of Adam denounce everything that is of the truth. As they are under the spell of their father, the devil. They continually lie as a political arm of the devil through all principalities and powers. They carry these lies through all the media, written, broadcasting in radio, television, and yes, especially over the internet. As the gold miner pans for gold, and discounts all except that one precious nugget so today, one must use the same method when it comes to biblical truth and truth in general.

Every week from the pulpits of the world, the ministers of Satan deny the word of God while congregations sit with smiles on their faces knowing not that their feet are dangling over the deepness of sin, death and hell. In this darkness of mind, which is perpetuated by the pulpits of the world, they sit in darkness having not a clue what is happening in the seen and in the unseen war for their very souls. What Satan will do to deceive is seen in the example of Judas, one of the twelve, one who walked, talked and saw all those miracles that the Lord performed. The modern Judas is the preacher, one preacher, one congregation, one city, one state or principality, one world, all under the judgment of God. Don’t attempt to rationalize your position, for if you know not the Lord Jesus Christ, you’re under the penalty of death.

The last book of the Bible, the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, has gained a large following over the past fifty years. People fantasize about the end of the world and they use this book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ to feed their fantasies. The Revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ was given to Him by God the Father to SHOW unto His servants things which must shortly come to pass. In the beginning of the book, we are introduced to John the apostle on the isle of Patmos where he was banished for the testimony of Jesus Christ and for the Word of God. This gave him a standing before His Master and Lord. When his Master appeared to him, he fell down as though he were dead, and worshiped the Lord of glory. I ask this question, With the knowledge of God and the Word of God, should it be any different on earth today? The Bible says that the Lord’s people have the indwelling Spirit of the Lord Himself. Then why is He not reverenced as Master and Lord in the fields of humanity today? And why do those who profess Christ continually swallow the message of hypocrisy in the church when the Bible specifically tells those of Christ to ‘Come out from among them,’ and turn away from the lies from the pulpits?

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean [thing]; and I will receive you, (2nd Corinthians 6:17)

Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. (Hebrews 13:12) Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. (Hebrews 13:13)

Today the Lord speaks from heaven, He has a voice using the Word of His power, the word of God. The word of God has never been a dormant element in the unseen world. The word of God is a living organism. As the Word of God from before the foundations of the earth, the Body that was prepared for Him, is the holder and the giver of the word of God. The word of God is so important that God has placed a copy of His exact word from beginning to end in heaven above. LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. (Psalm 119:89) Now do you believe the Word that God has sent? The Lord Jesus asked the people if they believed in Him, and believed in the One who had sent Him? The Lord Himself used the word that was settled in heaven by His divine authority. He told them, Search the scriptures. This is not just your favorite book or verse, it is the ENTIRE length, breadth, and depth of ALL Scriptures, for in them is the way of eternal life.

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. (John 5:39)

Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. (Matthew 22:29)

Are you astonished at my faith? It could be you are looking in the wrong direction. Maybe your eyes are fixated on the world and its land and the wealth of the nations and of man. All this requires looking down, not up. If you want to acquire the knowledge of the holy, you must study the holy book that contains the holy word of God, and that leads you to the Holy Man in heaven at the right hand of God, the Master and Lord, the Creator. The Lord Jesus Christ is speaking today from heaven to the darkness of this world. The ploys, the plays, the dramas, the fiction, the lies of Satan, and his darkness has captivated the world. They run to and fro, looking for light and only find darkness, they will believe every lie of deception and deny those who bring forth truth in its purity. How do we know these things? because the word of God and God Himself has declared in His word that men LOVE darkness and literally HATE the truth.

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. (John 3:19) For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. (John 3:20)

For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. (John 3:34) The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. (John 3:35) He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (John 3:36)

These are not my words, these are the words of the Master and Lord Jesus Christ, they have been written and recorded by the Spirit of God in this wonderful gospel of John, and these words are settled in heaven with all the words of God. For man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God, and this word is SETTLED, is PERMANENT, and it ENDURES all of time. It is the power of the very breath of God, and has been given to man so that man may acquire the truth.

In the book “Pilgrims Progress” by John Bunyan, there is a pilgrim traveling through the world, and we see all that befalls him. There is also another character or person that we see all the time in our current world, he is called Pliable. He runs after every fad and follows every wind of false doctrine. He chases after man looking for the truth, and not after the word of God. You see man, in his fallen state, can only carry Pliable further into the darkness of the dreadful flood of despond in the darkness where there is no light for man in Adam desires to have it so. Pliable never realizes that evil walks all around him. He hears what the darkness cries out, ‘Follow me, I have a name, a denomination, a religion, bring your tithes to MY storehouse of darkness, so that our father, Satan, can spread more darkness all over the land.’ This is the world, the multitudes of multitudes in the valley of decision. And the vicar of Satan cries, ‘Follow me to hell. Come to my carnival of will worshipers who worship men and their immorality.’ Take in and digest the false doctrines and idolatry, wave the flags of nations, and embrace their sins, the works of Satan. Praise ideologies, such as democracy or Marxism. Claim that within democracy is freedom while the masses stand on the precipice of hell bound by sin and the chains of death. No one to yell, Stop, stop for Christ will set you free from death, yes, come to the Master and Lord Jesus Christ that went into death to give freedom to those who believe on Him with their hearts, their soul and spirit.

Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. (John 13:13)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. (John 13:16)

The Master and Lord OF Faith

—— ♦——

We also have this wonderful application to the Son of God Himself. Although He was equal with God; in His humility He gave all reverence to the Father. He had been sent from heaven on high, He was not only God’s beloved Son, He was God’s TRUE and holy servant. He came as a servant for there was NO other one in heaven who could fulfill ALL righteousness. There was NO one in heaven who could come and accomplish the work of redemption. And there was NO other sacrifice that could satisfy the righteousness of God in the redemption of man. The Lord Himself proclaimed that the Father was greater than all. And yet, He would use the words that both the Father and Son are ONE. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. (John 10:29) I and my Father are one. (John 10:30)

When we see the truth of the Godhead we can see the fulness of it as the manifest image of God in Jesus Christ. In the Lord Jesus Christ we can see the FULL Light of the God of eternity. Yet, the world with its enmity against God and its hate for the Light continually portray the Lord Jesus as a mere man, and child of Adam. If you have ever listened or watched the History Channel you know exactly what I am talking about. They can’t wait to strip the Lord Jesus of ALL deity and make Him like unto themselves. They have no concept of the words of Master and Lord. For their master and lord is the devil himself. And what about National Geographic they have no trouble deifying man in general, however, when it comes to Christ He was just a mere man. These are all lies portrayed and put forth by the children of their father, the devil. (John 8:44) Oh yes, let me not forget the blasphemies of Public or Government Radio and its sister of leaven, Public or Government Insane-avision. They have taken the minds of children, teens and adults into that realm of Satan’s imaginations and the evil has been perpetuated throughout the entire scheme it is truly a master piece of Satan’s lies. And we can top it with Master Piece Studios. But this is not all, we have our own Babylon the Great . . . . you know the mother of harlots: Hollywood, the movie industry, and its rival, the gaming industry. How far can these evil organizations take the evil imaginations of mankind? We see it all around us, everything that is portrayed is to take the mind away from reality and the truth, and especially to remove the word of God as the only source of truth. They deliberately insert portions of scripture into their blasphemous movies, not to enhance the word of God, but to make it look foolish and unbelievable. Often, misquoting so that they can put forth their own lies. And when it comes to the Lord Jesus Christ or the most high God, they have no problem cursing Him on the big screen so that all may see their hatred for God. But this is not new, since the fall of Adam mankind has had a heart of enmity against the Almighty God. They HATE the Light because they walk in darkness.

In Genesis Chapter 4, we read that man began to call on the name of the Lord. And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD. (Genesis 4:26) This was applied to the line of Seth in his son Enos. Man at that time began to CALL on the name of the LORD. This shows the work of God in sonship for the line of faith was continued through the genealogy of Seth. Satan thought that he had stamped out faith when Cain (moved by the wicked one) slew his brother. Satan was deliberately trying to remove all light so that man would only have darkness to turn to. However, although God resorted faith into the genealogy of Seth, not ALL the children of those who were in that genealogy walked by faith. Satan began his stealth by mingling the daughters of men, the line of Cain, among the genealogy of Seth. Seth was given by God to replace Abel for God gave Eve another seed. This of course was the continuation of the promise given in Genesis Chapter 3 that God would give a seed who would be the Redeemer of man and it would be He who would crush the devil’s head and nullify the works of the devil. Faith cannot be vanquished. It can have no end, for faith is within God Himself. We read in the book of Hebrews that the Lord Jesus Christ is both the Author and Finisher of our faith. For faith is within the Son of God. The same insanity that drives sin today was present when Cain the child of the wicked one slew his brother Abel. Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous. (1st John 3:12)

Behind the scenes in Eden was the attempt of the devil to destroy all faith and righteousness because the devil has a mind of deception. His evils are driven by the darkness of his own heart; therefore, he wants man to be his representative on earth. He wants man to overthrow ALL that is of God. However, faith is within God. Just as God is omnipotent in power, faith is contained within this power and can neither be vanquished nor annulled.

Abel was a man of divine faith because faith was given to Abel BY the Divine God Himself. Abel did not have righteousness within himself, he acquired righteousness THROUGH faith in God for Abel offered a more excellent sacrifice than Cain. Abel had full knowledge of God’s redeeming power and by faith he applied it to his own soul. By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. (Hebrews 11:4)

In the genealogy of Genesis Chapters 4 – 6, not all the children of those who are listed understood or had faith in God. However, the names that are listed are to show us God’s path of faith until we get to Noah. It is Noah who was pure in his generations. During the course of this time, the daughters of men (Cain’s line) intermingled with the line of Seth until we get to Genesis Chapter 6. This is very important because the behind the scenes, in the unseen world, Satan was working once more in his deceptive work to nullify and to abolish all faith. In Satan’s realm of darkness he is methodical and precise. He works with a spirit of patience. He has a plan, and this plan is to destroy faith, and once more, we see the result of his plan in Genesis Chapter 6. Notice in Genesis Chapter 6 one of the tools of Satan is man’s own imagination. Mankind, in the grips of sin, has an evil imagination. This is quite evident in the imaginative insanity of today. Satan is gearing the world in preparation for his last assault on faith. He has intermingled his children once again AMONG the sons of God to destroy faith, and to silence the word of God in the world. Again, Satan works with an imperfect mind, an imperfect heart, and an imperfect soul due to his own sin against the most high God. Look what has taken place in the last two years, the government of the United States has overthrown the rights of the people. All voting rights has been nullified all voting and replaced with the lies and deception of evil men. In two short years men and women have been locked up in prison because they expressed their right under the Constitution to disagree with their own government that has thrown out ALL Constitutional rule and now rules by tyranny as despots. Both political parties are equally joined in this tyranny to overthrow the will of the people, and to imprison those who disagree. (This is why these political parties are no longer called Democrat or Republican, but they are now known as The Uniparty.) They embody the Cain Syndrome to stamp out that which is of faith and that which portrays God’s righteousness. The devil is still methodically and patiently working in the children of men to overthrow the things of God.

From Seth to Noah there are approximately two millenniums, this would be 2000 years of Satan polluting man, and man polluting the sons of God. What is so amazing is that at the end of that time line there was only ONE righteous MAN, Noah, and he found grace in the sight of God because he was pure in the generations of faith. This is the first time in Scripture that grace is mentioned. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. (Genesis 6:8)These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. (Genesis 6:9)

What do we learn from this section in Scripture? God had His eyes on a man much like Enoch who walked with God, and the first prophet of God recorded in the word of God. Enoch pleased God, and God took him, and he was not. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. (Hebrews 11:5) But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.(Hebrews 11:6)

And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,(Jude 1:14) To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. (Jude 1:15)

Noah was a just man, he was justified before God for faith was his ground of sonship. By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. (Hebrews 11:7) In Hebrews 11:7 we find that there is heirship of righteousness. In Hebrews 1:2 we find that God appointed unto His Son, Divine Heirship, and by His Son, He also made the worlds. It is quite evident that faith is a Divine Seed, and does not follow the ancestral line of descent, it is separate from the line of Adam. Faith is determined by the Seed of faith that is IN the Lord Jesus Christ. In Noah’s day this seed of faith was also applied to Noah who was an heir of righteousness and a preacher of righteousness; he had acquired grace through faith which gave him a position before God as a man justified and righteous in the line of faith whereby he received the grace of God IN Jesus Christ. Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. (Galatians 3:16)

In Galatians 3:16 God separates the seed of man from the Divine Seed of One, and this Seed is Christ Himself. It is Christ who fills all in all. It is within Christ that ALL fullness dwells. It is within Christ that this seed of faith is given to man. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20) I live by the faith OF the Son of God. The Spirit of God reveals to us that ALL faith is WITHIN the Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. Just as His redemptive work pleased the judicial need of the most high to satisfy His judgment for sin against man so faith surrounds the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ so that without faith it is impossible to please God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (Hebrews 11:6) We find all these qualifications within Noah, a preacher of righteousness.

Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. (John 13:13)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. (John 13:16)

The Supernatural Master and Lord

—— ♦——

We find this same work of God through the one seed of faith in the sons of God in the New Testament. Here we see the new birth separating the seed of faith from the children of Adam in a supernatural way. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (John 1:12)Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:13)

The new birth which is related to us in John Chapter 3, is given by God and God alone. It is determined by the divine inheritance given to God’s Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. This was accomplished before the worlds were made according to Hebrews 1:2. In God’s determinate counsels, God determined a divine generation, this would be a divine generation that would span the entire history of mankind. It is the generation of Jesus Christ. It is a supernatural generation determined by faith and the supernatural birth through the Holy Spirit of God. It has no time frame in the history of Adam or of mankind. The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham. (Matthew 1:1) This generation of Jesus Christ is a separate generation of children of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is not part of the genealogy that follows in Matthew Chapter 1. It is a separate generation of those who have been given the seed of faith in the Son of God and by the Son of God.

All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul. (Psalm 22:29) A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation. (Psalm 22:30)They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this. (Psalm 22:31)

And of Zion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and the highest himself shall establish her. (Psalm 87:5) The LORD shall count, when he writeth up the people, that this man was born there. Selah. (Psalm 87:6)

This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.  (Psalm 24:6)

He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. (Isaiah 53:8)

These are a few verses showing the length and breadth of the Lord Jesus Christ. This generation spans time from righteous Abel to the fulfillment of this generation when all the seed of faith enter into the generation of Jesus Christ, the chosen of God.

To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, (1st Peter 2:4)

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: (1st Peter 2:9)Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. (1st Peter 2:10)

Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. (1st Peter 1:2)

Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. (1st Peter 1:5)

Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. (John 13:13)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. (John 13:16)

Master and Lord over ALL power

—— ♦——

As Master, the Lord Jesus is over ALL. For even the creation that is under Adam’s curse bows before the Master and Lord in their travail waiting to wit the adoption of the sons of God, and the fullness of the generation of Jesus Christ.

For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. (Romans 8:18)

For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. (Romans 8:19)

For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, (Romans 8:20)

because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. (Romans 8:21)

For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. (Romans 8:22)

And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. (Romans 8:23)

To be called out of darkness to the Light and Life of Christ is beyond all earthly comprehension for those who walk in darkness. To be of Christ is the greatest blessing that any being can receive. As we have said before, What shall a man, or a nation, gain the whole world if they should lose their own soul. I will bring into remembrance that great city Ninevah. Sin collectively was possessing each and every soul, and the city collectively was under the judgment of God. At the preaching of Jonah, they repented from the highest in the kingdom to the lowest serf, and God spared them and had mercy on them. The soul of a nation is determined by the collective acts of sin of the very people that inhabitant that nation. A nation given over to the sins of this day will only see the judgment of the Almighty God because that nation stands before the Judge of the whole earth, the Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. For ALL power in heaven and in earth is given unto Him. And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. (Matthew 28:18) The Lord Jesus IS the Divine Judge, not only the individual being, but over nations and peoples.

Side Note: This nation which is full of evil pride is under His judgment right now. The people have the evil that they deserve for its multiplicity of sin. The sin of the United States is greater than the city of Sodom and the city of Gomorrah. The cup is FULL of dregs so that this country is destroying itself from within by its sin. On November 3, 2020, our government overthrew itself, as I have written many time before. The very ones who are in power today overthrew their own government that they represent. This was the BIGGEST conspiracy that the world has ever known. Greater then all the conspiracies of Ahab and Jezebel. This massive conspiracy not only was perpetrated against the United States, but it drew in all nations of the world by evil men and women from all walks of life and professions. They all took part in this conspiracy formed by a sub-government of unseen manipulators. It was accomplished in a broad spectrum and activated through organized criminal intent and payola. They all share criminal actions against the elected and they are bold to laugh in the face of the people that they overturned. We are in the process of the ascendancy of the 4th Reich, already there is a list of names to those who will fill the office of what was called in the 3rd Reich, the Gestapo. The progressive leftists has progressed into complete insanity, and they will bear in judgment their evil deeds by the Almighty Judge. As we watch the drama, the play, the great epic unfold we see the sin of Judas has come home not only to the Capitol Building of this nation, but to the capital city itself. The Babel of lies, vanity, pride, guile, pedophilia, deceit and betrayal is an exact description of Washington, D.C. There is no turning back, for God has looked down from heaven, and He has already set the wheels of judgment in motion; consequently, this nation is already destined to be no longer.

• For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; (Romans 1:18)

• because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. (Romans 1:19)

• For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:(Romans 1:20)

• because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. (Romans 1:21)

• Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, (Romans 1:22)

• And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. (Romans 1:23)

• Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: (Romans 1:24)

• For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:(Romans 1:26)

• And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. (Romans 1:27)

• And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; (Romans 1:28)

• Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, (Romans 1:29)

• Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, (Romans 1:30)

• Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: (Romans 1:31)

• Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. (Romans 1:32)

There is no longer a Constitution or a people who will live up to this Constitution. When we examine the history of our nation, we will find that the Constitution was shredded when Lee surrendered to Grant at Appomattox. The will of tyrants oppressed the south before the war, they lost their own representation in Washington because their representatives were removed. After Lee surrendered one of the first actions was to take the guns away from the south leaving them defenseless to the northern murderous marauders and carpetbaggers. Their voices were silenced before the war, and continued to be silenced through the war. There was no true representation for the people in Buchanan or in Lincoln. Don’t destroy your computer when you read this, they were both tyrants and caused the death of more Americans than any other war in percentage of populace. The numbers of the dead were astronomical, for the militaries of the north and south, and the civilian population were brutalized by the war. Civilian men and women on both sides of this conflict were needlessly killed (needless because reason had become political and money moved emotions). Women were raped and tortured, children orphaned regardless of their geographical location, the south took their brutal revenge on the prisoners at Andersonville; while in the north, the southern prisoners froze to death in the northern prison camps. Not one home, not one person was left unscathed by a war that could have been avoided but for politics, and the power of control and money. (There are always those who benefit greatly from war: munition dealers, profiteers, merchandisers, and politicians.) The Constitution was shredded by Buchanan and by Lincoln. The first thing to go was truth, the next thing to go was freedom of speech. Sounds familiar? For even in our age, this freedom has been ripped from the pages of the Constitution. In New York and Wisconsin reporters were jailed for their dissent against the war, and it was ordered directly by Honest Abe. Well there is much more, but I have angered enough readers for one message, I will however, say this, the two most wicked men of the 1800’s both have shrines in Washington D.C.: Honest Abe and President Grant.

Grant added to his history and his evil by trying to eradicate the Indian nations which he almost accomplished from the trail of tears to the northern campaign where the Indian nations were driven into Canada for their own survival. The Indian agents were selected not for the betterment of the Indian nations but to destroy them, and they received their orders from Washington D.C. And now with no shame, as a nation, we have the audacity to carry the motto of, In God We Trust. I’m sure in the evil and scandalous history of this government God cannot trust US. As a people we are no better then all the previous nations of history that were destroyed either from without or from within. There is nothing wrong with stating truth. There is none good, no not one. ♦ End of Side.

Master and Lord Valued as a Servant

—— ♦——

Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. (John 13:13)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. (John 13:16)

Our nation and the world are in the midst of God’s judgment; yet, man in his own self reliance does not see the hand of God calling man to repentance. It might not be the fire from heaven, but man’s own hand will bring him low. Man’s own evil imagination is bringing about his own downfall. There is no excuse for the immorality that is worlds wide today. The nations of the world have shaken their fists in the face of God, and have cast Him out of all their thoughts. Those who have the Spirit of God within see the spiritual and the unseen reality of God in His judgment against evil. Nations decide their own fates by the evil that they commit and the sin that they allow. This can be a burden to the believer in Christ to watch from the side lines and know such truths and yet, when they speak to the world, their words fall on deaf ears as in the days of Noah. The servant is not greater than his Lord, so we must walk the path of the Lord Jesus Christ. He assured His disciples and those who would come after them as the world hated the Son of God so the same world will hate those who followed and believed in Christ.

If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.  (John 15:19) Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. (John 15:20) But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me. (John 15:21)

I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. (John 17:14) I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. (John 17:15) They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. (John 17:16)

Why such hatred? The world is at enmity with God. The world LOVES its own, and its own LOVES its sin, and sin is of the world and they that dwell therein. The child of God is not of the world, and Christ was not of this world. Righteousness can never be gained or possessed by those who are sold in sin and belong to Adam. Adam could never go back to the garden of peace. For there was no peace left within Adam, therefore, Adam and mankind with the works of the devil have set themselves against the most high God possessor of heaven and earth. The peace of God was replaced with sin and the fear and dominion of sin which brings with it the darkness of death. (Romans 5:12) This is why man is fascinated or fixated in his wars for both sides have the right to kill their enemy. They are justified in the eyes of man, but they are not justified in the eyes of God. War is of the Cain Syndrome. It is part of man’s enmity against God and yes, against himself. John the Baptist when speaking to the Roman soldiers  told them to do no harm. And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages. (Luke 3:14) In this particular light of these words we find that war amongst men is not the will of God, it is the will of sin within man, and these words would not be accepted in this very day. Yet, it is one truth that the world through its history has never accepted. For nation with go against nation, blood will be against blood; mothers and fathers will weep, hearts will be wrenched inside, and that heartache is brought on by sin and death and the never-ending Cain Syndrome; for he was a murderer and passed this trait onto all who would come after him. The Bible declares that Cain was of the wicked one, and that wicked one is the devil.

In Chapter 13 of the gospel of John, Judas is revealed to be of that wicked one. The number thirteen (13) is associated with evil, ask anyone what Friday the 13th signifies. because man has always attributed evil to the number 13, this is why 13 has become the dreaded number. The number 13 wears many hats of evil. If I am correct, many hotels have no 13th floor, they blame it on superstition, and not on their evil imagination. In this 13th Chapter of the gospel of John, Satan entered into one of his own.

Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. (John 13:26) And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly. (John 13:27)

Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil? (John 6: 70) He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve. (John 6: 71)

Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover. (Luke 22:1) And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people. (Luke 22:2) Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve. (Luke 22:3) And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them. (Luke 22:4) And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money. (Luke 22:5) And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude. (Luke 22:6)

And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver. (Zechariah 11:12)

Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, (Matthew 26:14) And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. (Matthew 26:15) And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him. (Matthew 26:16)

This is a lot to take in, but it is needful for the child of God to understand how many have been betrayed by an old familiar friend, and by those who have been closest to our hearts. Here we find that Judas, one of the twelve, purposed in his heart to betray the Lord Jesus Christ long before the act of treason. The Lord Jesus expressed this in John Chapter 6, verse 70 that one among them was of the devil. It’s interesting that this old familiar friend went to the enemies of Christ and made a covenant with the enemies of God to betray God’s Christ. Thirty pieces of silver was his reward for treachery. In the book of Exodus, Chapter 21, verse 32, thirty pieces of silver was the price of a servant or slave. If the ox shall push a manservant or a maidservant; he shall give unto their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned. This was the price of betrayal. This was the price that was exchanged for the Lord of glory. The value of God’s dear Son was not greater then a slave in the hearts of man. What many do not see in this transaction is that mankind has a low value and opinion of God’s dear Son, (the Christ, the anointed of God); thus, they in contrast have a high opinion of themselves. So the servant of God today is no better then his Lord, we will be scorned and the world will see no value in us. They have no concept of the war that is going on against their souls. They are so infatuated and engrossed in their sin that they ignore both the value and the possession of their own souls. They ignore that they even have a soul, and therefore, they see no value in their own soul. And they see no value in God’s servant or in God’s Christ.

Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me. (Psalm 41:9)

For it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it: neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; then I would have hid myself from him: (Psalm 55:12) But it was thou, a man mine equal, my guide, and mine acquaintance. (Psalm 55:13)

These verses in the Psalms come under the title of Messianic Psalms, there are psalms that are completely Messianic, and there are other Psalms where only certain verses are Messianic. The Lord Jesus, after His resurrection on the Emmaus road and within the house, said that the writings of the book of Psalms referenced His life and sufferings. David (through the Spirit) wrote the words that would be fulfilled in the life of the Lord Jesus Christ. And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. (Luke 24:27)

And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. (Luke 24:44) Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, (Luke 24:45) And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: (Luke 24:46)

There are many single verses in the book of Psalms that speak of Christ although they may appear to be only related to David’s calamities. The mind of the Spirit of Christ draws attention to specific verses and opens the mind and heart to give an understanding to those who love the Lord and love His appearing. The prophetic value of the Psalms in the life and sacrifice and death of the Lord Jesus Christ cannot be weighed in silver or gold. That which is spiritual is of spiritual value which transcends all the value of the earth. The highest value is the righteousness of God acquired through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Abel ACQUIRED that righteousness of Christ. The first man of faith was rewarded from heaven with the unlimited value of God’s righteousness that would be fulfilled in the fullness of time and would be sealed in the blood of Christ. There is no greater value then the Savior’s love for His own in that He loved them unto the end. The servant is not greater than his Lord whether in word or in deed; servants of God are considered by the world to have no value whatsoever, but to God they are of a great value and they are precious in His sight.

Take Gideon for an example: he was an unexpected hero, a man of low esteem, and the lowest in his father’s house, yet, God placed great value on Gideon, and by the power of God, he was used to defeat God’s enemies in the midst of darkness. What strange weapons: pitchers or vessels full of light. Remember that Christ went into the darkness of death to proclaim (as in Genesis Chapter One) Let there be light. IN Him was life, and the life was the light of men. (John 1)

The life of all men, such as Judas, the Pharisees, the Sadducees, and the rulers of the Jews and that which was of Rome in Pilate and in Herod can be found in character throughout the Psalms as the enemies of God. The ways of man, in general, can be found in the book of Proverbs, and the man with the troubled heart can be seen in Ecclesiastes. Now the man of God’s own choosing, the Lord Jesus Christ, can be found in the sweetness of the Song of Songs. It is the Song to my Beloved, however, we do not have the final verses of the Song until we get to the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ. The final verses that spiritually connect the Song of Songs to the glories of the Beloved in the Song of Songs is found in Revelation 4:11, and in Revelation 5:12-14; thus, the Song of Songs is completed in the worship and praise of the One is beloved of God, His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.)

Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. (Revelation 5:12) And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. (Revelation 5:13) And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever. (Revelation 5:14)

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. (Revelation 4:11)

Master  —  Lord  —  Servant

—— ♦——

Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.  (John 13:13)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. (John 13:16)

This Verily, verily of John 13:16, can also be applied to the Son of God as the beloved of the Father sent forth as a servant. The fullness of His servitude is disclosed in the gospel of Mark because there has never been any servant who has borne the titles of Son of God, and Son of man. This unique combination is not given to any other in the history of mankind; in the manifestation of the Lord Jesus Christ, we have the heavenly Man and the Son of man being One as the Son of God. They go together, for instance, it was the Son of man who suffered to bring righteousness to man. Godward, it was the Son of God who displayed that righteousness to God the Father when He completed His work of atonement. It was the Son of man who ascended to the right hand of God, and it is the Son of God who sits on the throne of righteousness. (Hebrews 1:8) Whether from earth to heaven (manward) or from heaven to earth (Godward) Jesus Christ is the name above every name as the heavenly Man (the Son of God) and the Son of man.

All the names of God in the Old Testament are centered and fulfilled in the fullness of time. But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, (Galatians 4:4) All these names are gathered in the unseen realm of God and put forth as one name from heaven itself, a name that is above every name that was specifically delivered from heaven. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. (Luke 1:31) His name (Jesus) was delivered by an angel of God to present a Savior (Joshua – Jehoshua) to mankind; thus, setting the mark of worship and placing the name of Jesus higher than the heavens. Let us connect Revelation 5:13 to Philippians 2:10.

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;  (Philippians 2:10)

And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. (Revelation 5:13)

Notice that we have the things in heaven, the multitude, the throng without number, and in both verses, we also have the things in earth showing us the magnitude of the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. All in heaven will bow to God’s Christ, all in the earth (one day) will bow to God’s Christ, and ALL that is under the earth in the unseen realm will bow to the name of Jesus. There is coming a day when all the earth’s populace will be made to bow to the Lord of lords and King of kings when the Lord Jesus takes up His throne in the millennial kingdom — all will bow to Him. The things under the earth: the Lord Jesus not only ascended into heaven, but He descended and went into the prison of the unjust, and it we there that He preached righteousness to them.

But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. (Ephesians 4:7) Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. (Ephesians 4:8) (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? (Ephesians 4:9) He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) (Ephesians 4:10)

And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2:15)

By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; (1st Peter 3:19) Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. (1st Peter 3:20) The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: (1st Peter 3:21) Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him. (1st Peter 3:22)

For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. (1st Peter 4:6)

To give the sum of this: the total of all righteousness is met in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ as He fulfilled ALL things in His suffering on the cross of Calvary, this same Jesus is made higher than the heavens. For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; (Hebrews 7:26)

Set Free by the Master and Lord

—— ♦——

Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.  (John 13:13)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. (John 13:16)

In this life we have all had masters. Those who we labor for are considered masters in the biblical sense. Paul addressing the Corinthians said that we have all had masters and this is true of all of mankind. Everyone has been moved by another human being to accomplish their will. Therefore, I would like to look into the book of Philemon because in this small book we see both a master and a runaway slave. The name of the slave was Onesimus, and Philemon was his master. Through the leading of the Holy Spirit of God, Onesimus journeyed to Rome, and came face to face with the apostle Paul in Paul’s imprisonment by Rome. It was there that Onesimus was born of the Spirit of God. I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds: (Philemon 1:10) In Philemon 1:9, Paul described himself as the aged. Yet for love’s sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.

Through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, Paul was quite aware that he was in prison for Christ, and also a prisoner of Jesus Christ. As a prisoner of Christ, the Lord used Paul’s bonds and imprisonment to free men from their bonds of imprisonment to sin and death.

Paul had previously ministered to both Philemon and Philemon’s wife Apphia, and considered Philemon a dear friend, a beloved brother in Christ, a fellowlabourer, and their home had become a beacon of light in a dark world.

Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer,  (Philemon 1:1) And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house: (Philemon 1:2)

Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord. (Philemon 1:2)

Although Paul was born a free man, and in spite of his bondage to Rome, the Holy Spirit of God directed Onesimus to Paul. There is a similar movement of the Spirit of God uniting the seeking Ethiopian eunuch to God’s messenger Phillip. The same Spirit who took Phillip to the Ethiopian eunuch took the runaway slave to Paul. This is what we should see in the book of Philemon that there is no limitation to the movement of the Spirit of God, and there are no restraints on the message of salvation through Jesus Christ. Onesimus went to Paul as a run away slave, he departed Paul as a free man in Jesus Christ to return to his earthly master, not as a slave, but as a brother in Christ. For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever; (Philemon 1:5) Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord? (Philemon 1:6)

Paul took into consideration that Onesimus was a purchased slave, and that it cost Philemon the price of a slave, maybe thirty pieces of silver; thus, this price would be lost to Philemon, however, Paul through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, offered to pay the price of anything owed by Onesimus. We see this wonderful act of grace in verses 17 and 18, If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself. If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought, put that on mine account. Here we have the Spirit of God working so that the debt of another is willingly absorbed by Paul whatever the price.

The wonder of the gospel and the debt that we owe or owed is all paid for in the sacrificial death and shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are allowed to go free in Christ because He paid the price, however, we are not our own, we are bought with a price: the precious blood of Christ who is our Master and Lord. We are in this world as free men separated from the world but bound in heaven in Jesus Christ. Our liberty is to do the will of God because we have been set free from our slavery to sin, and the prison house of death. What a wonderful reunion took place when Philemon received Onesimus as a brother and not as a slave. And we also have been joyously received in the beloved as one of the Lord’s brethren. For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, (Hebrews 2:11)

Since Adam sinned, slavery and the bondage of sin have dominated mankind. Over the centuries man has put other men into bondage to the masters, and the head master of all evil (Satan) because of the evil nature of mankind. Lucifer loves to have men, women, and children entangled in the thorny vines of his shackles of slavery. There have been wars fought to free men from the shackles of other men, only to be re- shackled, and the iron forge of slavery renewed. The world has never really known true freedom. The world has always been a place of bondage because of the sin of man. The only freedom that man can have is in his soul and spirit, and this freedom can only come through the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ. Our citizenship in heaven has been made sure through freedom, and our freedom has been paid for by the blood of Christ. We are just men made perfect in that blood in the eyes of God. We are the true sons of liberty, but our liberty is in the realm of obedience to the righteousness of God. We have received this righteousness through and in God’s perfection. This perfection and only definition of perfection is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

Paul as the servant of God was bound by Rome in prison, and he had the keys of freedom for others in Christ. Man could not have written such a book as the Bible. There is nothing in man that can reach the spiritual level of God’s word unless it is communicated by the Spirit of God from heaven itself. No one would have ever put the book of Philemon in the Scriptures, it was the Spirit of God who used this book to not only free Philemon and Apphia his wife, but then send his slave Onesimus on a journey to Rome to find Christ in a prison, and hear the message of freedom from the apostle who was Philemon’s brother and friend in Jesus Christ. The book of Philemon is the trial and salvation of one slave that was made free in the prisons of men. The book of Philemon comes before the book of Hebrews; in Philemon, one slave is set free; in the book of Hebrews the whole nation of the Jews are in slavery, and Paul wrote (through the Spirit of Christ) to set them free. In the 12th Chapter of the book of Hebrews, through verses 26 and 29 we read of freedom finalized.

Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. (Hebrews 12:26) And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. (Hebrews 12:27) Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: (Hebrews 12:28) For our God is a consuming fire. (Hebrews 12:29)

The world of man is a transit world, one generation passes, and the next claims all that is left behind; however, in the glorious gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, those things that are not seen cannot be moved, and those things that are not seen cannot be shaken, if the Son shall set you free, ye shall be free indeed.

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:32) They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? (John 8:33)

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.  (John 8:36)

In the entire gospel of John, the Spirit of God wrote the word free in only three (3) verses. God is speaking to man, and in this gospel, Chapter 8, the Lord Jesus Christ stated that man is in bondage to his father the devil, and that sin has destroyed both man and the realms of mankind. The word free, however, is mentioned four (4) times in these three verses. And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:32) They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? (John 8:33) If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. (John 8:36) We have God speaking to man in the number three, and man receiving God’s voice in the number 4, which is the earth number.

The movement of the Spirit of God has to come from above, for man to be set free indeed in Jesus Christ there has to be a new birth, a new creation, a new man who is made like unto the Man in heaven in the unseen realm. You cannot see Christ in my heart, you cannot see Christ in my soul, you cannot see Christ in my spirit, and yet, He is there, and He has conquered and He has set me free to be His servant, and I am so happy in the freedom that I have in my Master and my Lord, Jesus Christ. Paul could express freedom while he himself was in prison. His delight was to set others free in the glorious gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to  the Greek. (Romans 1:16) For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. (Romans 1:17)

—— ♦ ——

The Master and Lord

the Ultimate Faithful and True Servant of God

and

His servants fulfilling the Law of Faith

—— ♦——

Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.  (John 13:13)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. (John 13:16)

Paul understood this Verily, Verily, of Chapter 13, verse 16. In Chapter 13 of the gospel of John, the phrase Verily, Verily, is documented four times.

1. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. (John 13:16)

2. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. (John 13:20)

3. When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. (John 13:21)

4. Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice. (John 13:38)

We will look into the other three (John 13:20, 21, 38) later, but for now, however, there seems to be an unlimited amount of instruction for EVERY servant of God in verse 16.

In the mind of the Spirit, let us go back to John the Baptist. He was SENT from God. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. (John 1:6) He was the last of the prophets of the Old. For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. (Matthew 11:13) The law and the prophets [were] until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it. (Luke 16:16) And John was the Spirit’s voice of the announcement and revelation of God’s Christ in the New. The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. (John 1:29) John was the first messenger of Light in the New Testament, and he was there to declare the Light and Life that was in Jesus Christ. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. (John 1:7) He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. (John 1:8)

Many years that had passed since the closing verses in the book of Malachi where the last earthly prophet has been foretold in Chapter 4, verses 5 and 6. Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: (Malachi 4:5) And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse. (Malachi 4:6) Approximately four hundred years later, after this prophecy in Malachi, the Lord Jesus revealed that it was John the Baptist who the Spirit of God had spoken about.

Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. (Matthew 11:11) And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. (Matthew 11:12) For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. (Matthew 11:13) And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come. (Matthew 11:14) He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. (Matthew 11:15)

John had come forth by the hand of God to awaken the heart, the soul, and the spirit of man to the Light of God in Jesus Christ. The verse in John 1:6, gives John the complete authority of God in John’s message. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. He was sent for one purpose: to bear witness of the Light, and within John the Spirit of God put the message of glad tidings and great joy. He completed the prophecies that were given about him, as the servant of Jehovah, and now he willfully and gladly became the servant of Christ. John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; (John 1:26) He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe’s latchet I am not worthy to unloose. (John 1:27)

The true servant is not greater then his Master and Lord. The true servant rejoices in heart, soul, and spirit to introduce to mankind God’s beloved Son. Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world. Not only did the Spirit of God give us prophecy in the Old Testament concerning God’s servant John, but also the Spirit of God clarifies that John was SENT in John 1:6. John speaking in the power of the Spirit of God testified of himself in John 1:19- 23.

And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou? (John 1:19) And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ. (John 1:20) And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No. (John 1:21) Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself? (John 1:22) He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias. (John 1:23)

In John’s testimony of himself, he directed the eyes of the priests and the Levites (who were sent by the Pharisees) not to himself, but to another. There standeth one among you whom ye know not, this was God’s dear Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. John finished his record by announcing God’s dear Son.

And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. (John 1:32) And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. (John 1:33) And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God. (John 1:34)

Here is the record of a man SENT by God to fulfill prophecy, and this prophecy was fulfilled supernaturally. The prophecy in Isaiah 40:3, set the place, the character of the messenger, and the message of this last high priest of Israel, and the last Old Testament prophet. The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. In the book of Isaiah, this voice was the obedient servant SENT. After verse 3 to verse 18, the message of the Spirit of God is to ALL of mankind.

We can almost hear the words being spoken by John through the Holy Spirit of God. It would be words like these that drove the unrighteous Pharisees to send the Levites and the priests to ask John his identity. Why were they sent? And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts of John, whether he were the Christ, or not; (Luke 3:15) There was a spirit within John that Israel had not witnessed for approximately four hundred years. John had opened the heavens for the people of Israel to repentance, and in striking contrast the Pharisees and the priesthood blocked the heavens from the people. The people were in expectation, Old Testament prophecy and writings of Moses and the prophets indicated that the time of the coming of their expected Messiah was very close. They asked John, therefore, if he was the very Christ, which he denied. Here was a man that they should have recognized as the person, the messenger, who was prophesied in the book of Isaiah, and in the book of Malachi. Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts. (Malachi 3:1)

Not only the people were in expectation, but the Pharisees also connected the character of the coming Christ to John the Baptizer. However, the Pharisees, the priests, and the Levites completely ignored John’s descent. What was so special in this servant of Jehovah? He was a son of Zacharias. The line of Zacharias was directly connected to the first high priest, Aaron, and Elisabeth (the wife of Zacharias and the mother of John the Baptist) was also a direct descendent of the first high priest Aaron. This gave the right of priesthood to John, but not only the right of priesthood, but he was the only one qualified in that day to be the high priest of Israel. There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. (Luke 1:5) And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. (Luke 1:6) Pay attention to verse 6. God is not careless with the word righteous. One can only be righteous through faith in Jesus Christ.

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. (Romans 1:17)

But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; (Romans 3:21) Even the righteousness of God [which is] by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: (Romans 3:22)

For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. (Romans 4:3) Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. (Romans 4:4) But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. (Romans 4:5) Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,(Romans 4:6) Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. (Romans 4:7) Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.  (Romans 4:8)

Both Zacharias and Elisabeth were righteous before God. This is the first time that the word righteous is used in relationship to the revelation of Isaiah 40:3-28. For John to fulfill his servitude he had to be a man SENT by God. He had to have the qualifications that God demanded for he and only he would introduce the Son of God to the world. Now the priests and the Levites did not know who this was before them, they could not identify the prophet of Isaiah 40. The messenger and prophet of Isaiah and of Malachi was a mystery man to them, but not to God. He was SENT by God to the nation of Israel and to their leaders. John was the first servant SENT by God in over four hundred years, and the Levites asked, Who art thou? The Spirit of God said that John’s birth was supernatural. God was preparing the way for His Son, by first sending His message through a prophet and a high priest.

John’s name was also supernaturally given to Zacharias, John’s father, prior to John’s birth. The office of prophet and priest was also supernatural for these things dealt with the unseen among the seen. His voice, according to Isaiah, was also supernatural, he was a voice crying in the wilderness of darkness, and his message was ‘make straight the way of the Lord.’ John was not a personality, but a voice, because the true servant is not greater than his Master and Lord. He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias. (John 1:23) The true servant of God never thinks of high things concerning himself but takes the lowly position at the feet of his Master and Lord. There is no grandeur that the true servant seeks, he is only fulfilling what God has called him to do. We see the answer for John’s faith in John 1:26 and 27. John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; (John 1:26) He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe’s latchet I am not worthy to unloose. (John 1:27)

John was a servant SENT by God. He was a man of the wilderness. A man of solitude, and at times, hidden from the world until the day of his showing by the Holy Spirit of God. Then John’s voice echoed all over Israel for many gathered to him to be baptized and prepared in heart for the revelation of God’s dear Son. This voice echoed with the power of the Spirit of God to be baptized to repentance to God. John, in a sense, came with the key to unlock heaven’s door, and to reveal God’s Christ. God revealed to John from heaven the descending Spirit of God upon the Lord Jesus Christ. The message of repentance was God’s theme in the Old Testament to the nation of Israel finishing up with the prophet Malachi, and now through a new and open door to heaven, John revealed the coming of grace and truth in Jesus Christ.

John was fulfilling the true servitude of Jehovah’s servant in attitude, in character, in demeanor, in actions, and in faith. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. (Matthew 3:3) And the same John had his raiment of camel’s hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey. (Matthew 3:4)

This same voice that cried in the wilderness was confirmed in the gospel of Mark, Chapter 1:1-6.

The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God; (Mark 1:1)

As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. (Mark 1:2)

The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. (Mark 1:3)

John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. (Mark 1:4)

And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins. (Mark 1:5)

And John was clothed with camel’s hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey; (Mark 1:6)

Mark’s gospel begins with the voice of John, the beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Once again, John is seen crying in the wilderness,  Prepare ye the way of the Lord. Now there are certain things in Scripture that God the Holy Spirit repeats, it is that line upon line, precept upon precept, so that the child of God may embrace these truths within their heart, soul and spirit; therefore, the Spirit of God repeats it again in the gospel of Luke. The same clarification of John as the voice of God in Luke Chapter 3, verse 4.

Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene, (Luke 3:1)

Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. (Luke 3:2)

And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins; (Luke 3:3)

As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. (Luke 3:4)

Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth; (Luke 3:5)

And all flesh shall see the salvation of God. (Luke 3:6)

In all four gospels the Holy Spirit gives us a portrait of God’s servant in John. Many different words paint this portrait of a man SENT by God. We see why John was not accepted by the priesthood of corruption. His hand was not out receiving the benefits from man. He not only traveled in the wilderness, but ate of the fruit of the wilderness, and wore garments of the wilderness; thus, separating himself from other men.

Under the corruption of the priesthood there were two high priests in that day, Annas and Caiaphas; in God’s order He set only one high priest over Israel, not two at the same time. These men were corruption personified. They had NO right to the priesthood let alone the position of high priest. They were not part of the genealogy of the Levites from Aaron, the first high priest, and the Lord declared their nature and will and purpose in John 8:44. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. Notice that in John 8:44, the voice of the Pharisees is the voice of liars, and they repeat the lies of their father who is the devil.

In the gospel of Luke, Chapter 3, verse 1 and 2 we have the amalgamation of the political world and the religious world. The kings of the earth and the rulers of the world were gathered together against the Lord and against His anointed. This included the man who was SENT by God whose name was John. Notice also that the word of God was neither spoken nor given to the political establishment or the religious establishment. Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. But the Spirit of God specifically says, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. Here the Spirit of God gives us a combination of names (John and Zacharias) thus joining them both together as direct descendants of Aaron, the approved priests of God, and the authority of God as the high priests of God in the proper order of God. The Spirit of God clarifies that John was the son of Zacharias, and the Spirit of God informs us that the word of God came unto John, the true servant and high priest in God’s order. The false priesthood had no authority from on high, therefore, the word of God could not and would not GO through them.

The testimony of Scripture by the Holy Spirit of God tells us that John’s message was rejected by the priesthood and by the political element of Rome for it was Herod who ordered the death of John. The world rejected both John and his message, and in the ultimate conclusion of rejection, the world, as a whole, rejected God’s Christ, whom John had introduced to the world. The same message of John is also repeated in Luke Chapter 3, verses 4 – 6. As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. (Luke 3:4) This would come to the conclusion when the Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth; (Luke 3:5) And all flesh shall see the salvation of God. (Luke 3:6)

This is the witness of the true messenger of God, and the Lord said, that the servant is not greater than He who sent him. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. (John 13:16) In the prophetic writings we have seen a man who was to be SENT of God, in the gospels we see THAT man who fulfilled those prophecies in John the Baptist. All four gospels testify of God’ servant, John the Baptist. You have the words of the Holy Spirit, and you also have the words of Christ in the testimony that He gave concerning John.

There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true. (John 5:32)

Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth. (John 5:33)

But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved. (John 5:34)

He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light. (John 5:35)

But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me. (John 5:36)

And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. (John 5:37)

And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. (John 5:38)

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. (John 5:39)

We see the testimony of the Lord Jesus concerning John, that John was a burning and shining light. I want to clarify that the burning was John’s zeal and the consuming of his own energy through the Spirit of God. He was a testimony OF the Light by his own faith IN the Light. Just as those who believe in Jesus Christ are SENT into the world to be a light unto the world with the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. John was SENT with His message of light in his day to announce grace and truth in Jesus Christ. And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. (John 1:16) For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. (John 1:17)

Now I want you to pay close attention: in verse 15 of John 1, it is John the Baptist bearing witness to the Son of God, Jesus Christ. John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. John’s message in verse 16 is that God has shown forth HIS FULNESS in Jesus Christ and made available to all grace for grace. In verse 17, it is John with his message of truth of being a light in this world who tells us that the law was given by Moses, and he divides the law of Moses from grace and truth that came by Jesus Christ. In these two small verses John, being the last of the prophets shut the door on the Law of Moses and opened the door to grace and truth through Jesus Christ. A division that was fulfilled at the cross in the sufferings of the Savior and in the fulfillment of all righteousness in the words, It is finished. John was truly a servant SENT by God, but he was not greater than his Master, for he said of his Master, He must increase, but I [must] decrease (John 3:30). The wonder of things is that if one listens to the voice of the Spirit of God one will realize that things have not changed. The servant today is under the same obligation as John, Christ must increase and the servant must fade away. Do we see this today? Is the spirit of John in those who want to be known? Is the spirit of John in those who want to have a reputation? Is the spirit of John in those who love the praise and laud of the congregation? And isn’t it amazing how the so called servants of God today gather together and pat each other on the back, and reminisce how great they are? And how they scramble for the highest seat in the building. Fame of self is the tool of the devil. And is in their message. The sad part is that the people love to have it so.

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. (John 5:39) These are the questions that a true servant of God must continually ask. Where is the back side of the desert? Moses. Where is the brook Cherith? Elijah. Where is the wilderness of Jordan? John the Baptist. These were all men meek and lowly in heart living in the hollow of the hand of God until they were SENT into the battle against the mystery of iniquity. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. (2nd Thessalonians 2:7)

To say that the outward world church is flourishing spiritually is a BIG LIE. Christ is NOT the great entertainer. Christ is the Great I AM. And all power has been give unto Him in both heaven an earth. All the power of judgment has been given to Him over all the earth, and He has sent His Spirit into this world since the sacrifice of Himself on the cross to reprove the world of sin.

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not a way, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. (John 16:7)

And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: (John 16:8)

Of sin, because they believe not on me; (John 16:9)

Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; (John 16:10)

Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. (John 16:11)

The Spirit of Christ has come, and as the Person of the Lord Jesus was rejected in His bodily manifestation, so also the Spirit of Christ has been rejected by this world. For the Spirit of Christ came to reprove the world of sin, and to show the righteousness of God to the world; the world has rejected the Savior’s message. Therefore, since the world has rejected the Spirit of Christ, the world TODAY is under God’s judgment. The world church is under God’s judgment. What defines the world church? A church that will not reprove sin, a church that will not uphold righteousness. A church that will not execute judgment. These ALL band together such as in the World Council of Churches, and the intermingling of denominationalism rejecting the voice of the Holy Spirit of God, the Spirit of Christ.

Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? (Hebrews 10:29) For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. (Hebrews 10:30)

By rejecting the Spirit of Christ, which is the Spirit of grace, one rejects the love of God in Christ Jesus. In our day, multitudes in the political arena, in the nations of the world, in the religious systems of men all have rejected God’s Christ and trodden under foot the blood of God’s dear Son, and in turn, have done despite to the Spirit of grace. The precipice of evil leads to the depth of hell. Therefore, multitudes upon multitudes are being weighed in the balance by the Spirit of Christ. And the peoples of the world try to hide themselves under the cloak and garments of religion. After Adam’s sin, both he and Eve hid themselves from God and clothed themselves with fig leaves, sown by their own hands; however, that did not hide them or their sin from God. God knowing of their fall still wanted to hear the words of repentance from them, He even asked them this question that He asks of all men, What hast thou done?  And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. (Genesis 3:13) There was no spirit of repentance in either one of them. SO God in grace as a prefigure of the cross of Calvary shed the first blood in the sacrifice for Adam’s sin. This was the FIRST sin offering as a foretaste of things to come. It would be two lambs, they would be male without spot within or without. Their coats of the skins of a dead animal would become a covering to remind Adam and Eve of their dreadful sin and that its cost was the cost of blood. Adam would not accept his fallen state, he would not repent, and he would not admit his guilt so that God drove Adam and Eve out of the garden never to return and never to partake of the tree of life. They would remain in an unrepentant state in a land of thorn and thistles and the sweat of their faces. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life. (Genesis 3:24) Man was now living in the wilderness of his own sin that would be rehearsed many times through the history of humanity including the wanderings of Israel in the desert land of Sin as a shadow of all mankind who will not repent, and who will not seek after God. There would only be one refuge, and this would be the Law of Faith which embraced the children of God beginning with Abel. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. (Romans 3:27)

God established the Law of Faith in Abel, and Abel received the righteousness of God in his most excellent sacrifice (Hebrews 11:4). The Law of Faith is established in grace in truth that came by Jesus Christ. He is the Keeper of faith. I live by the faith of the Son of God (Galatians 2:20). He is the Beginning and End of all faith (Hebrews 12:2). He is the Author and Authority and the Creator of faith. He has written the by-laws of faith for without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). The Lord Jesus is also the Finisher of the complete document of faith. This brings forth the Spirit of Christ within, and just men being made perfect in Him. Faith includes the revelation of Himself as the Son of God for man must believe that He is. He is the One who has opened the door of justification by faith by the sacrifice of Himself so that the just shall live and breathe and walk and serve by faith.

The testimony of the man of faith is found in Hebrews Chapter 11. It is a small glimpse of the victory over the world and over the flesh by faith. Faith gives notice to all in Hebrews Chapter 11. It was Old Testament saints who first established faith by looking into the future, and the fullness of time. And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: (Hebrews 11:39) God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect (Hebrews 11:40). It is all the Old Testament saints giving faith to their testimony, and in verses 39 and 40 we have the grand conclusion of faith that surrounds the fullness of time in Galatians 4:4. And the fullness of time brings forth the fullness of faith in Christ the Finisher of faith on the cross when He proclaimed with a loud voice, It is finished.

What does Christ require from His servants today? The same humility of the cross to die to self, to seek no reputation, to walk humbly with your God by faith, and to embrace all the unseen attributes of faith in the Son of God at God’s right hand. The just shall live by faith and walk by faith that the Law of Faith should be, and will be metered within them, According to your faith be it unto you (Matthew 9:29). Fulfill the Law of Faith for the servant is not greater then his Master.

Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for [so] I am.(John 13:13)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.(John 13:16)

Amen and Amen.
