Verily, Verily

Part x

The Father’s Love, The Son Sent

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. (John 13:20)

♦

Come and see the works of God: he is terrible in his doing toward the children of men. (Psalm 66:5)

For I [know] their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come and see my glory. (Isaiah 66:18)

♦

He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about tenth hour. (John 1:39)

And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see. (John 1:46)

And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see. (John 11:34)

♦

Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; (Philippians 1:27)

♦

And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see. (Revelation 6:1)

And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. (Revelation 6:3)

And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. (Revelation 6:5)

And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. (Revelation 6:7)

Introduction to Verily, Verily

—— ♦——

Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death. (John 8:51)

In our study of John 10:1, I mentioned, Verily, verily, or truly, truly, or Amen and Amen, and I am moved to return to this important point. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. (John 10:1) In the racing world, it would be known as a pit stop to prepare our car for what is ahead, to open up our chances to see the invisible. So, I am moved to return to this point of importance not only for the value of Verily, verily, but how the Spirit of Christ uses this combination throughout the gospel of John, and ONLY IN the gospel of John. It is evident that the three gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke are predominately of the earth. However, John by the Spirit of God takes us into the unseen world, into the mind of Christ, and into the revelation of God. We pass from the temporal world to the spiritual world in the first three gospels in that we can see the horizon of the earth: Matthew is the gospel of the king, Mark reveals God’s faithful servant in every way, and Luke unfolds the Son of man in a divine form as the Man from heaven. However, in John, we have heavenly things such as the eternal Word being made flesh and being God.  Angels ascend and descend upon the Son of man as the Spirit of God looks down from above wherein the three preceding gospels it is the world looking up. In the gospel according to John, it is the Spirit of Christ opening to us spiritual truths found nowhere else in the Scriptures. This reveals the very importance of Verily, verily in the gospel of John. Before we begin, I will list all the verses that have the words Verily, verily.

1. And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man. (John 1:51)

2. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (John 3:3)

3. Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. (John 3:5)

4. Verily, verily, I say  unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. (John 3:11)

5. Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. (John 5:19)

6. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (John 5:24)

7.  Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. (John 5:25)

8. Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. (John 6:26)

9.Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. (John 6:32)

10.Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. (John 6:47)

11.Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. (John 6:53)

12. Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. (John 8:34)

13. Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death. (John 8:51)

14. Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. (John 8:58)

15. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. (John 10:1)

16.Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. (John 10:7)

17. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. (John 12:24)

18.Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. (John 13:16)

19. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. (John 13:20)

20. When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. (John 13:21)

21. Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice. (John 13:38)

22.Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater [works] than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. (John 14:12)

23.Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. (John 16:20)

24. And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give [it] you. (John 16:23)

25. Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry [thee] whither thou wouldest not. (John 21:18)

The different subject matter found with each Verily, verily is extremely important. The Spirit of God emphasizes these verses so that we might know and understand the mind of the Spirit of Christ. Let’s take each Verily, verily together, and open the mind of the Spirit so that we might understand and receive of the glories of Christ. This will take some time, but I believe that this will be our only opportunity to see these truths within the veil. I suggest that you read the previous articles on Verily, verily.

The Sender

—— ♦——

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. (John 13:20)

The child of God as a new born babe has the desire of the Spirit of Christ within to study and to understand the sincere milk of the word of God. As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby. Not only was the Lord Jesus Christ SENT of the Father into this world from heaven, but in turn He has SENT the children of God into this world to proclaim His name and the gospel that is attached to His name through His sacrificial work on the cross of Calvary. The Lord Jesus (through His divine actions and will) has SENT the children of God into the world as new creations not of Adam, but of Christ, to fulfill the will of God and not the will of man. Upon the new birth there is a supernatural separation from all men in Adam. A new blood type issued by the work of God’s dear Son on the cross. It also is supernatural. The Son of God was SENT by the Father and through John 13:20 we understand that He proclaimed that He is the sender of the ones who have faith in Him. But this is not all, there is a divine closeness inferred to by the Lord Jesus Christ in linking the one who is sent with both the Son of God, and God the Father.

This takes us to the word sent, which is referred to many times in the gospel of John. The preeminent use is to the Son of God SENT by the Father, and in turn, it is the Spirit of Christ who sent us, the children of God into the world. The question then is, From where was I sent?

—— ♦——

The Dual Presence

—— ♦——

In the natural sense, one does not realize a departure from this evil world; yet, in the unseen there is a supernatural transaction that took place and put me in heavenly places. I am both settled and seated in Jesus Christ. And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: (Ephesians 2:6) And at the same time I am translated into the kingdom of God’s dear Son, or Son of His love. Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: (Colossians 1:13) Notice in the books of Ephesians and in Colossians in the words sit and translated it is IN the present tense: meaning, it happened at our new birth. This is a supernatural act by God’s sovereign will to remove us from Adam and the world and to place us in the unseen world of faith which becomes a reality to us as God reveals the unseen to us, and our world of faith becomes as real as the things that we see. One good example is our dual presence. We need to understand that we have a presence with God in heaven in Jesus Christ, and a presence on earth in the flesh that once belonged to Adam, but now belongs to God. To give us an understanding in this, we have the words of the Lord Jesus speaking of Himself in John 3:13. And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. The Lord proclaimed both His supernatural presence and His supernatural power to be in heaven and on the earth at the same time. He used His divine title as the Son of man and attached this to heaven above because He is the heavenly Man SENT into the world. He came to overthrow the sin of Adam, and death, and the works of the devil. No man in Adam can ascend up to heaven, it takes the faith and grace by the Son of man IN heaven to quicken those from Adam’s race and turn them into the sons of God by the works of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (John 1:12) Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:13)

And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. (Galatians 4:6) Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. (Galatians 4:7)

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. (1st John 3:1) Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. (1st John 3:2) And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. (1st John 3:3)

This is our new habitation. We belong to heaven in every way through the Spirit of Christ. We no longer belong to the earth or to Adam, or Adam’s father, the devil. We are forever linked to the Son of man in heaven.

So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: (1st Corinthians 15:42)

It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: (1st Corinthians 15:43)

It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. (1st Corinthians 15:44)

And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. (1st Corinthians 15:45)

Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. (1st Corinthians 15:46)

The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. (1st Corinthians 15:47)

As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. (1st Corinthians 15:48)

And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. (1st Corinthians 15:49)

While on earth, Christ was in His manifest body prepared for Him to be the sacrifice for sin. Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: (Hebrews 10:5) God is Spirit but to accomplish the redemption of man, He had to take on a form, a personage, and a being such as the manifest image of God in the Son of man, the Lord Jesus Christ. The Spirit of God, for God is Spirit, is uniquely and completely a divine Being with the power to manifest Himself in the tangible world as the figure of a man, however, this Man was God incarnate, Jesus Christ, who was never separated from His deity. Jesus Christ was NEVER subject to the sin of man. When on earth He had full presence with the Father. We see this in the gospel of John Chapter 17, while in the garden, He simply lifted up His eyes and looked into the presence of His Father and began to pray. It is a remarkable conversation between the Lord Jesus Christ and His Father. Although we only have the voice of the Lord Jesus in John 17, we feel the voice of the Father in the words of the Son. We see the presence of the Son in heaven above through His Spirit who cannot be separated from the Divine Being even in the death of the Son of man on the cross of Calvary before He gave up the Ghost, He committed His Divine Spirit unto His father in heaven. This same Spirit of Christ dwells in us, the children of God. We have a spiritual presence with the Father therefore, we can cry, Abba, Father from the most inner room of our hearts that which is the sanctuary of God’s Spirit, the Spirit of Christ within us. Once we see our total being as both in the flesh and in the Spirit, we realize that we dwell in a supernatural body linked to heaven, and to the Spirit of Christ. We see the confirmation of our presence with God the Father in the very words, Abba, Father in Galatians 4:6 and 7.

And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. (Galatians 4:6) Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. (Galatians 4:7)

In the words raised up together in Christ we have a present reality for we have been quickened from the dead to live in Christ and through the power of Christ. And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: (Ephesians 2:6) This confirms our presence in heavenly places not in the future, but now. God wants us to understand that we dwell not only in the world that is seen, but we also have a place in the world that which is unseen. While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. (2nd Corinthians 4:8) We have been raised together with Christ as a being that will never die. Our life now is in Jesus Christ who has the power of an endless life, and Christ lives in me as the resurrected Man so that we will never die.

And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? (John 11:26) She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world. (John 11:27)

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)

In Christ Before the Beginning

—— ♦——

This put me in heavenly places for I have a place IN Christ, and Christ has a place in me. This is the unseen of the supernatural. This is all part of the wisdom and mystery of God for Christ liveth in me. And He is the One who possesses ALL power of life, both the natural life, and the supernatural spiritual life. Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life. (Hebrews 7:16) This power of an endless life is applied to the Man Jesus Christ who did not come forth on earth by the command ‘be fruitful and mutliply’ as in Adam and Eve. The Lord Jesus Christ came forth as the Son of God, as the Seed of God, which was Christ, and as that holy thing sent by the Father to reconcile the world unto Himself. To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. (2nd Corinthians 5:19) The work of reconciliation began in the counsels of God BEFORE the creation. This is a mystery that goes back BEFORE the world was. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: (1st Corinthians 2:7) It is truly amazing how many times the Holy Spirit takes us back in time and BEFORE time to show us the eternal things of Christ. In 1st Corinthians 2:7, the mystery comes under the wisdom of God.

The gospel of Jesus Christ reveals the wisdom of God BEFORE the world unto our (the redeemed) glory. The divine wisdom and counsels of God show us in Christ BEFORE the world was, and BEFORE Christ created the world, we were part of His divine inheritance. Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; (Hebrews 1:2) The Son of God was made heir of ALL things BEFORE He made the worlds. Understand that the gospel that we preach had its foundation IN Christ BEFORE the world was.

Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, (Romans 16:25) But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: (Romans 16:26)

The Mystery of the Wisdom of God

—— ♦——

The God who is over all in His wisdom began to reveal Himself through time till the fullness of time as in Galatians 4:4. But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law. This is the revelation of God’s Son SENT into the world in the fullness of God’s time, not the fullness of man’s time. The fullness of God’s time is all about the wisdom of God in revealing Himself to man in the Person of God’s dear Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Wisdom would be revealed in Christ Jesus as the very hidden wisdom of God. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: (1st Corinthians 1:30) The Son of God, Jesus Christ, was the wisdom of God personified. Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute: (Luke 11:49) But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. (1st Corinthians 1:24) (Suggestion: Read Proverbs Chapter 8)

The wisdom that we receive in Christ, who is made unto us wisdom, is the hidden wisdom of God from BEFORE the foundations of the world. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: (1st Corinthians 2:7) We have the further explanation of this wisdom of God in Romans 16:25 and 26,

The combination of these verses from 1st Corinthians and Romans 16 seems to be missing something of the unseen. So let’s add to this revelation in Christ Jesus from the epistle of Ephesians, Chapter 3, verses 2 – 6.

If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: (Ephesians 3:2)

How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, (Ephesians 3:3)

Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) (Ephesians 3:4)

Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; (Ephesians 3:5)

That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: (Ephesians 3:6)

You see how the Spirit of God reveals the wisdom of God as it was hid in a mystery from the sons of men. But the wisdom of God revealed His purpose and plan in the fullness of time in the manifestation of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ whom He SENT into the world. Once again the apostle Paul, by the Spirit, takes us back to this same mystery in Colossians Chapter 1, verses 25 – 27.

Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; (Colossians 1:25)

Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: (Colossians 1:26)

To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: (Colossians 1:27)

Now this is for us: those who have the Spirit of Christ, and this Spirit of Christ is made unto US the wisdom of God in Him. It IS God’s will and purpose to fulfill in US 2nd Timothy 1:9 and 10.

Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, (2nd Timothy 1:9) But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: (2nd Timothy 1:10)

In both Colossians Chapter 1, and 2nd Timothy Chapter 1, we have what I call the preemptive gospel. In Abel the preemptive gospel was looking forward to the divine sacrifice in Christ. We know that God manifested Himself to both Cain and Abel, for in Genesis 4: we have the record of Cain being in God’s presence when God rebuked him and drove him out to wander in the land of Nod. Now the same God, Jesus Christ, that created Adam and breathed life and spirit into Adam is the same One who upholds and maintains ALL life. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (John 1:3) In him was life; and the life was the light of men. (John 1:4)

Remember the two phrases that are found in Genesis 1:1, and in John 1:1, (In the beginning) we have the beginning of things and they dove tail together for it is in the beginning that Christ gave life and breath to Adam. And in John 1:4, it refers back to Adam, and all of mankind. In him was life, and in Hebrews 7:16 He has the power of an endless life. Life is within the Son of God. As a crystal all life comes forth from Him including the supernatural life of the new born creature in Christ which is a mystery that was hidden in the wisdom of God, but now is revealed in the words, A man must be born again. We who have experienced this new birth (the sent ones into the world) are the children of the mystery of the wisdom of God. It is His gospel that we have been born of His blood and by His Spirit and have been sent by the Son of God into the world. In Colossians Chapter 1, 25 – 27, Paul revealed by the revelation of God that even Paul on the Damascus road was removed from the world.

Removed from Judaism, removed from kinship and family, removed from Adam, and by being removed from Adam, one is removed from self. Removed from Adam to Christ although this transaction takes the smallest moment of time, the preparation for that moment began BEFORE the creation in the wisdom of God.

Until the manifestation of the Son of God upon the earth as Jesus Christ, God kept the divine gospel hid from mankind in general. Even the prophets of old who prophesied of Christ’s life, suffering and death searched the previous Scriptures that others had written. These prophets were men chosen of God to reveal portions of God’s divine revelation of Jesus Christ and directed by the Spirit of Christ the same exact Spirit that dwells in the hearts of the redeemed today.

Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: (1st Peter 1:10)

Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. (1st Peter 1:11)

Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. (1st Peter 1:12)

This portion of Scripture opens so many doors of that which was written afore time. It opens the prophetic doors in the writings of Moses, the writings of the prophets, including David in the prophetic windows in the book of Psalms. When we study the Scriptures, we also see the characters and the personalities that God used to relate not only prophecy, but different facets of Christ in their character. This was not perfection, for perfection could only come to the fullness of time by the manifestation of the Lord Jesus Christ. The prophets (when we look closely at their writings) put together the very movements of Christ into the time line of the history of mankind. They wrote as they were led by the very Spirit of Christ revealing parts of His future manifestation as the Son of God in the fullness of time. They not only possessed the Spirit of Christ, but Scripture tells us that they were led of that same Spirit to pen the words from on high. They also searched the previous Scriptures much like the children of God today. Not one of the prophets would ever discount or cast off the writings of Moses or any previous prophets that were given of God. However, in the new age movement they have cast off ALL of the Old Testament writings; yet, Christ spoke the words from Old Testament writings constantly in His ministry to the Jews and His disciples. The book of Hebrews is filled with Old Testament Scripture both in word and type. The apostle Paul was led by the same Spirit of Christ that the prophets wrote about many centuries before.

Since sin came into the world, man (through his evil heart, a heart that has enmity within against the Almighty) has attempted to strip and erase the fabric of God’s deity and power and insert man’s own personality and power to the very extreme that man is in power and has the authority in all realms of life. In the teaching of the Bible today, men of reprobate minds love to take the authority away from God and away from His holy Scriptures. Twice in the New Testament the word of God is called the holy scriptures. Twice it is referred to as holy in its entirety, from the beginning in Genesis to the last word in the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ. The Spirit of God tells us that wisdom comes through the Scriptures and learning the Scriptures, both in Romans 1:2, and 2nd Timothy 3:15, the holy scriptures are the authority of the prophets of old and those of the New Testaments who study the Scriptures and believe them in their entirety through faith in Jesus Christ. (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,) (Romans 1:2) And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. (2nd Timothy 3:15)

The Progressive Revelation From God

—— ♦——

God makes sure that we understand that His word is breathed by His breath. He spoke with Adam and He spoke with both Cain and Abel. He carried on long conversations with Abraham, both in the seen and in the unseen. The voice of God has been known throughout the entire Scriptures. God told Jeremiah that He would put His word in Jeremiah’s mouth, not man’s word, or even Jeremiah’s word, but God’s word. In the book of Daniel, God told Daniel what to write, and what not to write when Daniel was told to close up the book, and the remaining things would be revealed at a latter time. However, those who claim supreme intelligence today, and boasts in their accusations against the holy Scriptures do not have within them the love of the truth.

Throughout our perverted world today, we have pulpits of perversion, these are three points you need to look for: first, when a person tells you how great the word of God is and THEN begins to dismantle it word by word, phrase by phrase, verse by verse, even books by book, there is no love of the truth within that person; he is using what is popular today it is called the license of interpretation and they have made it a law unto themselves. In 2nd Peter 1:20, God gives authority to His prophecy, that there is NO private interpretation. Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. There is only ONE interpretation, and this is God’s interpretation through the mind of the Spirit of Christ. Man perverts this verse so that he can have the authority to tear the Scriptures apart. For they know or have not the love of the truth.

The second point is man will tell you how great God is, and then he begins to pick apart God’s deity, this attempt to dismantle and categorize God into fragments has been a ploy from ages past and continues today. Man has a high opinion of himself, and a low opinion of God. This shows in the ministry of man which is not the ministry of the Holy Spirit of God. In very deceptive words, man wants to make himself deity, and God the lesser deity.

The third point is man tells you how great, how wonderful the Lord Jesus Christ is, and then he attacks the deity of the Lord. They play a game with their own intellect by making the Lord Jesus Christ into ‘Jesus a mere man’ than God Himself. They have never realized that Adam had to be destroyed at the cross, for it was Adam who brought sin into the world, and it was Christ who brought heaven into the world in the manifestation of Himself as the Son of God. He brought eternal life to a dead world, and offered them life which they refused, and are still refusing it today by not honoring and worshiping the Son of God as the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. (2nd Thessalonians 2:10) I once heard (within the confines of a church) someone very close to the authority within the church expressing to another person that ‘You know, when Jesus was a child, he could have sinned.’ I almost fell to the floor when I heard such blasphemy. Had the pharisees come back from the dead? No, just someone who would not receive the love of the truth. And we see it all the time in the world, how man likes his own greatness above the wonder and greatness of God in Jesus Christ. These three points permeate the pulpits of today. Only those who love the sincere milk of the word have a heart to study the Scriptures (as Timothy), and love to receive the truth from the Spirit of Christ within. Be very careful with any church group that exalts the congregation or the pulpit, or the building. They have not the love of the truth.

The previous prophets were not only called of God but SENT of God. John the Baptist was the last Old Testament prophet, and it was his calling to introduce God’s Christ. John loved the knowledge of the truth. In the Old Testament, in the book of Daniel, God tells us three times (and the only place where the phrase greatly beloved is found in the Bible) that Daniel was a man GREATLY beloved in God’s eternal realm. At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision. (Daniel 9:23) And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling. (Daniel 10:11) And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace [be] unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me. (Daniel 10:19)

There are certain Scriptures that cannot be interpreted because they have not yet been revealed. But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days. (Daniel 12:3) But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. (Daniel 12:4)

And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? (Daniel 12:8) And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. (Daniel 12:9)

The last Chapter of the Daniel still holds mysteries, even to us in this age. Although we have come out of the fullness of time, the book of Daniel shows us that God’s revelation of things to come, and of Himself, is a progressive revelation. From the beginning (when God revealed Himself as the Creator in Genesis Chapter 1) to the revelation of Jesus Christ in prophecy, to His manifestation on earth, and to that which is to come in His manifest glory has been a continual perfection of enlightenment. However, not only was Daniel told to close up and seal the words of the book, but the apostle John was also told to seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and to write them not. And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not. (Revelation 10:4) So we see future divine revelation is to be given at the end. Like Daniel, we must stand in our lot with the measure of truth that we have, and our love for that divine truth waiting to wit the redemption of our body. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. (Romans 8:23)

We have been blessed in this age of God’s truth with all that has been revealed to us, but there will be further revelation given to the hundred and forty-four thousand of Revelation Chapter 7, the saints of the tribulation, and the saints of the great tribulation will receive further and future revelation as well as the millennial saints and onward. But for us now the mystery of God’s dear Son has been revealed not only by the word of God, but by the Spirit of God’s Son who dwells within us.

The Mystery of the Great Revelation

Christ In You

The Hope of Glory

—— ♦——

By the grace of God we have been saved out of death in Adam to newness of life IN the creation by Jesus Christ of this new creature that has been removed from the world and seated in heaven with Christ. Those who have been born of the Spirit of Christ have a new being of grace. The blood of the Son of God has sealed this new being for all eternity. The blood of Christ was not of Adam. I will be bold to say, it was a blood that man had never known, for as the body prepared in heaven for Him (Hebrews 10:5) so the divine blood came from heaven and went back to heaven to be placed on the divine mercy seat on the true Ark of the covenant of grace and truth. To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: (Colossians 1:27)

In Colossians 1:27 God has made known what is the riches of the glory of the mystery of Christ not only to the Jew, but also to the Gentiles. As a flower slowly opens displaying its inner beauty and aroma so also the revelation of the mystery of Christ within is slowly revealed by inserting in our hearts the HOPE of future glory with the Lord Jesus Christ.

For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? (Romans 8:24)

But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. (Romans 8:25)

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. (Romans 8:26)

And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. (Romans 8:27)

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)

In Romans Chapter 8 we are introduced to the SURE HOPE, the sovereignty of hope concerning salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. It is an unstoppable hope with a SURE END sanctified and sealed by the body and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. This hope which is active is in the heart of every child of God. It is the presence of the Spirit of Christ that not only activates this hope, but continues to magnify the very hope within us that it will lead us to the sure end which is to be like Him. By being born again, and sent back into the world, we have within us a different environment from the world. Our inward environment is filled with the Spirit of Christ. As the prophet Elisha our hope cries out that the Spirit of Christ would be magnified within. It is the Spirit of Christ within that authors our sonship and our sonship is within the very Son of God. We are part of His divine inheritance that He received BEFORE the creation of the world. Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worl. (Hebrews 1:2) There is a future glory that will come when all is fulfilled in Christ. This glory will be the complete manifestation of His deity in the brightness of His glory. Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; (Hebrews 1:3) And we who are born of the Spirit of Christ will be united to Him as the bride is united with her bridegroom. Romans 8:17 and 1st John 3:2 confirm our likeness with His likeness. And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. (Romans 8:17) Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. (1st John 3:2) The confirmation of the Spirit of Christ concerning the sons of God has been given to us in many Scriptures in the New Testament. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2nd Corinthians 5:17) For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. (Galatians 6:15) These Scriptures show complete separation from the world in our new birth. We are completely changed for we are no longer under the penalty of Adam’s death. We are under the life, eternal life, of Jesus Christ. We have been changed supernaturally, not by our own will, but by the sovereignty and power of God’s own will. We are a new species spiritually. This was done so that we might be fit for heaven. Adam had to be completely destroyed and a new being created; therefore, we are no longer under Adam’s control, and this control was Adam’s sin. We are free from the bondage of sin and death. Adam could not do what needed to be done. The first man was the man of sin, and he could not undo sin, it would take a heavenly Man, Jesus Christ, to come and undo the tragedy of Adam by removing Adam out of the way. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. (1st Corinthians 15:47)

Over the past two thousand years, the children of God have been stripped of their inheritance, they have been stripped of their sonship, they have been stripped of the Spirit of Christ by the ministers of Satan. We should all remember that the child of God is an infinitesimal minority in a tremendously evil world of a gigantic dynamic force united together against God. The world and the ministers of Satan want everyone to relax, after all why would God deliberately send a soul to hell? These cunning agents of dissimulation are experts in misdirection, and fakery, they neither understand, not want to understand the truth of God. We have the same people in character as the Lord Jesus described said in the gospel of John, and that Paul wrote about in 2nd Corinthians Chapter 11.

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (John 8:44)

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. (2nd Corinthians 11:13) And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. (2nd Corinthians 11:14) Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. (2nd Corinthians 11:15)

In our age of deception, treason, and highly regarded insanity, you should realize that we live in a world of iniquity in the unceasing works of the devil, and this iniquity is the dominant fuse in this world. When this iniquity reaches its explosive point in sin, then sin brings forth death; consequently, the children of God have to use the Scriptures in divine discernment. The Spirit of Christ will definitely dictate the walk of those who are born of the Spirit.

There are two groups of humanity in this world: one is of Adam and the devil, which is the evil seed; and the other is the seed of the Lord, the supernatural creation and the new creature in Christ. The work of the devil has always been to overthrow the works of Christ. The devil wants to keep his seed, the children of Adam, in place in the darkness of death. The devil wants to be the dominant influence on the sons of men by having the power of death over them, and shutting the door to life in Christ. However, the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is not just the work and deed of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is the supernatural power of God to create a new people, a new race, a new spiritual being that has been created FOR Him and not for this world. The modern men of renown, the children of the devil, are doing all they can to remove the gospel from the children of the world. When you have been born again and sent into the world by Christ, you will only be received by those of like spirit. You will be rejected by the spirit of the world, and by the religious mind. Therefore, expect to be rejected. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. (John 13:20)

The Received and The Rejected

—— ♦——

Those who refuse the child of God have also refused God’s Christ, and above they all have refused God the Father who sent the Lord Jesus into the world. The life of the child of God is linked to the sufferings of Christ, as Christ was rejected by a sinful world, so to the child of God will also be rejected by this same world. In the history of mankind, many things change, however, on that day when Adam stood before the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, he brought sin into the world . . . AND ALL CHANGED. Although sin has multiplied many times, the fact of sin has never changed. It is sin that brings its ultimate outcome and this is death because of the Law of Sin and Death. But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. (Genesis 2:17)

There is also the Law of Faith that was given to Abel, the first child of faith. This Law has never changed. The Law of Faith reveals the love and mercy of God, and the Law of Faith has no restrictions.

Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. (Romans 3:27)

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. (Romans 6:14)

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. (Romans 8:2)

The Law of Faith has the same power today as when it was first given to Abel. In John 8:44, we have a wonderful revelation that those outside of Christ are under the power of their father the devil. The more that you read John 8:44, the more the Spirit of Christ will reveal to you concerning the ways and actions of the sons of men in Adam. In the 3rd epistle of John has only 14 verses, yet these14 verses are packed with God’s truth, and they give added meaning to John 13:20. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

The Spirit of God opens this third epistle of John with three men: Gaius, Diotrephes and Demetrius. Gaius and Demetrius are both children of God, but Diotrephes is a child of Satan. Diotrephes loved to have the preeminence among the church, he was an arrogant self-righteous bully, and refused to receive the apostle John, and those who were with John.

• The elder unto the wellbeloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth. (3rd John 1:1)

• I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not. (3rd John 1:9)

• Demetrius hath good report of all men, and of the truth itself: yea, and we also bear record; and ye know that our record is true. (3rd John 1:12)

The testimony of Gaius begins with 3rd John 1:3, and verse 3 adds to his testimony of truth in that he walked in the truth. For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth. Gaius was loved because he loved the truth and for his name’s sake.

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. (3rd John 1:4) Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers; (3rd John 1:5) Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well: (3rd John 1:6) Because that for his name’s sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles. (3rd John 1:7)

Walking in the love of the truth of the Scriptures authored by the one whose name is above every name is recorded for us to comprehend why the Holy Spirit of God has given us this testimony of His servant Gaius. The Spirit of God uses ‘name’s sake’ throughout the Scriptures even the Old Testament in reference to the name above every name, Jesus Christ. Now how do we know that name’s sake here is the name of Jesus Christ? Well, how about if we heard it from the very lips of the Lord Jesus Christ as documented in the gospel of Matthew, Chapter 10, verse 22, And ye shall be hated of all [men] for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. His name is the name ABOVE every name. His name is to be reverenced. His name is to be honored. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth. (Philippians 2:10) Whenever the children of God reverence and bow to His name then we are to expect to be rejected and hated. Through the voice of the Lord in the gospel of Mark, Chapter 13, verse 13, we are told, And ye shall be hated of all [men] for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And again, the voice of the Lord repeats how the world will hate and reject His children for his name’s sake. And ye shall be hated of all [men] for my name’s sake. (Luke 21:17) But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.

The Spirit of God reveals to the children of God whoever they are, and wherever they are that they will be hated by the world, and those around them also. The Savior is so precise that He used the term ALL men. This is a great measure of hatred. We are reproached and reviled and cast off for his name’s sake. When you study the references dealing with the phrase name’s sake in the Old Testament and the New Testament, you will find that all the references revolve around Jesus Christ and His holy redemptive work on the cross completed by His name’s sake.

Oh, for a Side Note: I can’t resist it. SIDE NOTE: look what God is doing for His name’s sake. The first mention that we have of name’s sake is that His name is GREAT. For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you his people. (1st Samuel 12:22) So we see the wonderful name, the name that is above every name, the name of the Lord Jesus Christ is GREAT. Let’s remind ourselves how GREAT this one name is.

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: (Philippians 2:9) That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; (Philippians 2:10)  And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:11)

The first mention in 1st Samuel is in relationship to the nation of Israel who would be called the Jews when the Lord Jesus was revealed on earth. For He came unto His own, which was Israel, and they received Him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. (John 1:11) Therefore, the message of the Lord Jesus Christ IN His gospel was to the Jew first, as in the Old Testament, this is reflected in His name’s sake.

The second mention of name’s sake is in 1st Kings 8:41, Moreover concerning a stranger, that [is] not of thy people Israel, but cometh out of a far country for thy name’s sake; Notice the stranger is of the Gentiles, the Holy Spirit of God does not leave any stone that is not turned. Paul reflects this very thing in Romans 1:16, For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Then the Holy Spirit of God also reflects His name’s sake in Psalm 23:3, He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. This is a marvelous thing for under THAT name we see redemption for the soul, He restoreth my soul. He has taken the fallen condition of the soul under sin and death and breathed new life into the soul in THAT name that is above every name: the Lord Jesus Christ. I am able to walk in the path of His righteousness with a restored soul because His Spirit within leads me through this sinful world because of the righteousness of Jesus Christ. It is under the name’s sake of Jesus Christ that my iniquity is pardoned. For thy name’s sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it [is] great. (Psalm 25:11) No matter how great the iniquity it is gone forever. We have the wonderful revelation that that name above every name is the Rock and Fortress of my salvation. For thou [art] my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me. (Psalm 31:3) And it is the Lord’s Spirit that leads and guides me. Compare this with 1st Peter 2:5 – 7. Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner.

The word rock in Psalm 31:3 clarifies what the Lord Jesus told Peter that it would be on the Lord Jesus, He would be the Rock on which the church of the Lord Jesus Christ would be built upon, and this would be done for His name’s sake.

And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (Matthew 16:18)

And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone. (John 1:42)

And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; (Ephesians 2:20)

In Isaiah 66:5 we have a good comparison with the 3rd epistle of John. We see the rejection of those who follow the Lord according to His name’s sake. And I love the words, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, isn’t this a wonderful message for us today?

Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name’s sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed. (Isaiah 66:5)

In Ezekiel 36 we have the last mention of name’s sake in the Old Testament, and the only mention of the phrase holy name’s sake in the entire Bible. Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not [this] for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name’s sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went. In the opening of the New Testament, the Holy Spirit records that holy name as Jesus, Son of the Highest, that holy thing, and the Son of God.

And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, (Luke 1:26)

To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. (Luke 1:27)

And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. (Luke 1:28)

And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. (Luke 1:29)

And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. (Luke 1:30)

And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. (Luke 1:31)

He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: (Luke 1:32)

And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. (Luke 1:33)

Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? (Luke 1:34)

And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. (Luke 1:35)

Here is that name’s sake given from heaven in the name JESUS. However, when we go to verse 35 of Luke Chapter 1, we see that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. So we see the connection with holy name’s sake in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ. In every gospel, the Lord Jesus claimed the title name: name’s sake in relationship to Himself in the name JESUS.

And ye shall be hated of all [men] for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. (Matthew 10:22)

And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. (Matthew 19:29)

Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. (Matthew 24:9)

And ye shall be hated of all [men] for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. (Mark 13:13)

But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute [you], delivering [you] up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake. (Luke 21:12)

But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me. (John 15:21)

It was the Lord who told Ananias to go to Paul (who was the chosen vessel of the Lord Jesus Christ to bare that name of suffering and rejection before the Gentiles, the kings of the earth, and the children of Israel) for my name’s sake. For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake. (Acts 9:16) It was also Paul, who through the Spirit of God, gave us the revelation of the name above every name in Philippians 2: 9 -11. And although we could go further in expanding and glorifying this name for His name’s sake, we must return to John Chapter 13:20. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. (John 13:20) ♦ END OF SIDE NOTE.

Gaius had a testimony and the apostle John loved him in the truth. We see that they went forth and were SENT by Christ, returning us to John 13:20. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. However, John and his company were refused fellowship by Diotrephes. In considering this man’s testimony by the Holy Spirit he was not of Christ. Just as in Adam, Diotrephes was a child of the devil. His evil testimony begins in verse 9, as the man who loved to have the preeminence. I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not. He wanted complete control, and only by his authority would anyone be accepted for fellowship. His preeminence contradicts Colossians 1:18. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. It is the Lord Jesus who should have the preeminence. We meet in fellowship WITH and AROUND the Lord Jesus, for His name’s sake. He is the predominant and preeminent personality amongst us through His Spirit. Where two or three are gathered in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, He is in the midst and He has the preeminence. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. (Matthew 18:20) A person such as Diotrephes is not satisfied until he drives ALL of the Spirit of Christ out of the meeting. And there are many just as Diotrephes, who refuse to accept those who are sent by the Lord Jesus Christ. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. (John 13:20) The second thing that we learn about Diotrephes is that he did MANY things to hurt the brethren of Christ. In verse 10, the word deeds is plural, and his deeds were evil. Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church. You would think that rejecting those of Christ would be enough, but this man was also hot headed and his words were maliciously spiteful. And those who sought fellowship with others around Christ were also cast out of the church. In verse 11, the apostle is giving a comparison between the evil works of Diotrephes and that which is good in Gaius and in Demetrius. In John’s 3rd epistle we have a good example of those who refuse those who are SENT by Christ. And in turn, they are refusing Christ Himself, and God the Father who sent Him. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. (John 13:20) Why do you think religious organizations have been formed? They all deny the presence of the Lord Jesus by their endless boards of finance, their boards of mission programs, by their superfluous committees, and by their conditions of acceptance. They all have the spirit of Diotrephes and they have all been hood winked by the devil. This rejection and control over the house of God and the things of God have been going on for thousands of years. Remember that the epistle of John was written at the beginning of the history of the church. The devil has had more than two thousand years to pervert the ordinances of God to prevent those who are SENT by Christ from entering in. It is interesting that in the first church in Revelation Chapter 2, we have the last mention of name’s sake in verse 3, And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.

Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks; (Revelation 2:1)

I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: (Revelation 2:2)

And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. (Revelation 2:3)

Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. (Revelation 2:4)

Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. (Revelation 2:5)

But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. (Revelation 2:6)

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. (Revelation 2:7)

I want to clarify that in all seven churches it is the overcomer and ONLY the overcomer who are embraced by the Lord Jesus Christ; the rest, however, are gathered under the rebuke of the Son of God who testified of Himself at the beginning of every church, and ends in Laodicea with the testimony to the very few who will open the door to Him. All the rest are spued out of His mouth. Today those of Laodicea are very good at collecting money and they are very good at spending money, but there is nothing in them to work for money. Laodicea may be rich in goods, but one price she will never be able to pay, and this is salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. All her money, and lavishness will be burned in the great fire of Babylon the Great.

Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: (Revelation 3:17) I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. (Revelation 3:18)

Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God. (3rd John 1:11) Notice how this verse ends, he that doeth evil hath not seen God. So all those back room meetings of Diotrephes and the men who are like fellow to him have not seen God. By our contemporary understanding of spirituality it is hard to see through the clouds of evil. We must rely on the Spirit of Christ within to separate that which is good from that which is evil, and by studying the word of God we will be able to discern between good and evil. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. (Hebrews 5:14)

Not of This World

——♦——

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. (John 13:20)

If you wanted a textbook so that you might study architecture, or engineering, or many of the technical writings you would hunt for the best so that you might learn ALL facets of that particular skill and subject. Now God, in His sovereign grace wants us to have a complete knowledge of the holy. It is to ALL those who are born of the Spirit of God to study the Scriptures. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. In 2nd Timothy 2 verse 15, those who know the Lord Jesus Christ (as Timothy) are admonished by the Spirit of God to study the Scriptures and to shew thyself approved unto God. Therefore, one becomes a workman who is not ashamed of his labor, for it is a labor of love for the word of truth and the Living Word which is the Lord Jesus Christ.

In 2nd Timothy 3:16 and 17 we understand that ALL Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and ALL Scripture is profitable, and ALL is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness to perfect those who are SENT by Christ. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (2nd Timothy 3:16) That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. (2nd Timothy 3:17) It is by the word of God ministered by the Spirit of God through the servant of God that instructs men in righteousness. Everything in the servant’s life must be based on the word of God; therefore, God has given us His word, the most accurate word today, the gold standard of the spiritual textbook, the KJB (King James Bible).

We live in an age of barkers, ‘Here is Christ, there is Christ, everywhere is Christ.’ The signs of unregenerate men ‘Come worship with us,’ when they know not what they worship, or what is worship. The spires of the cities of great religions tell the true story of the religious hearts of men. Subconsciously, or maybe not so subconsciously, man is still building his tower of Babel and confusion. The world religionist represents the world of Diotrephes, a religious world of evil that accepts and condones sin. It is easy for them to deny, malign, or give false witness concerning the true servants of God. Just as Diotrephes, they shut the doors of truth to all who sit under their hand. The congregations of Diotrephes, or the present man of renown also unite together as keepers of the door not allowing the truth to gain entrance for THEIR name’s sake. Today Diotrephes embraces ritual, tradition and lies over the truth of the word of God. Multiple this by all the pulpits of the world, and we have many with the character, heart, works, words, lies, and deeds of Diotrephes.

Over the past two thousand years plus, all these things have come to pass, this is why the ministry of the Lord Himself through His word to the child of God is so important for the Lord’s wisdom and His truth can only be known by His Spirit within. Today, trust no man; only trust the Lord and His truth by the word of God. The formula is simple: Open the door, He will come in, and you will sit and sup with Him. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. (Revelation 3:20)

We are in the final moments of church history. The evil has become great and the sins of the Laodicean church are so full that the people are blind to the truth, they have been blinded by success and wealth. They have been blinded by the lies from the pulpit. They have been ministered to by blind men like Diotrephes, who had an evil heart, and a father of lies. (John 8:44) The Lord declared in John 13:20 that He will send all ministry of truth, and this ministry will come from Him in the one who He will send. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. (John 13:20) You may ask, Where are they coming from, or where are they being sent from? They are coming from heaven as new creatures in Christ.

I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. (John 17:14)

I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. (John 17:15)

They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. (John 17:16)

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. (John 17:17)

As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. (John 17:18)

And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. (John 17:19)

Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; (John 17:20)

It is very important to digest and discern these verses. In verse 14, the Lord acknowledges of His own that they are not of the world. I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. And to these who are not of the world, He has given them His word, and because they are ministers of the truth of His word they are hated by the world. It’s all there, just look. The Lord Jesus compares His position of not being part of the world with our position as not being part of the world. However, in the mystery of our salvation we are SENT BACK into the world with the message of the gospel. And we are SENT by the Lord Jesus and under His authority.

Now, in verse 15, He commits us to the Father as His servants in this world, but He especially beseeches the Father to keep us from the evil of this world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

In verse 16, once again, He compares His servants with Himself. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. This makes the heavenly places in the book of Ephesians very important to our position IN Christ Jesus. Four (4) times the words heavenly places is mentioned and this phrase heavenly places is only mentioned in the epistle to the Ephesians.

Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly [places] in Christ: (Ephesians 1:3)

Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set [him] at his own right hand in the heavenly [places], (Ephesians 1:20)

And hath raised [us] up together, and made [us] sit together in heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus: (Ephesians 2:6)

To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly [places] might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, (Ephesians 3:10)

Just to open our eyes a little bit, and rub those grains of sleep from our face, and with eyes wide-open God the Father has blessed us with all spiritual blessings, the complete degree of spiritual blessings in heavenly places IN Jesus Christ. It is stated in the present tense. Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly [places] in Christ. (Ephesians 1:3) Our security is found in Ephesians 1:20. Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set [him] at his own right hand in the heavenly [places], (Ephesians 1:20) God the Father raised the Lord Jesus from the dead and set Him on His own right hand in the same heavenly places that we receive all spiritual blessings in Jesus Christ. In Ephesians 2:6 not only has God the Father raised the Lord Jesus Christ from the dead, but He has raised us from the dreadful death of sin in Adam to be together in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. And hath raised [us] up together, and made [us] sit together in heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 2:6) Again, a present reality given in the present tense. Now, not only have we been raised up together, but we are made to sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. You are not going to get these truths by reading Tom Sawyer. The keepers of the door to Christ want to keep these things from you. Very rarely will the pulpits of this world acknowledge that these verses in Ephesians are all in the present tense, meaning that while we are on earth we are in the presence of God in heavenly places, and we are sat down, showing a permanent location and a permanent residence.

In Ephesians 3:10, God is showing us the mysteries of the principalities and powers in heavenly places. To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly [places] might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God. (Ephesians 3:10) He is instructing us that by the mystery of the wisdom of God He will open the truths of heaven for those who are sat down in heavenly places with Christ. The manifold wisdom of God is the very Person of the Lord Jesus Christ. The wisdom which is in Christ has many facets, each facet reveals by revelation, and exalts and glorifies the Person of Christ who is called Wonderful. Counsellor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of peace. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6) Within all this, Christ is made unto us wisdom, and He reveals the manifold wisdom of God to us in heavenly places. To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly [places] might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God. (Ephesians 3:10)

In John 17:17 we have the sanctification of God through His truth, not man’s truth, for man cannot discern the truth. The truth HAS to come from God through the word of God, for His word is truth. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

In verse 18 of the gospel of John, Chapter 17 the Lord Jesus acknowledges that we are SENT into this world as He was SENT into the world. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. This places us out of the world in the spiritual realm of the principalities and powers in heavenly places; consequently, by being out of the world, it is only the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God the Father that we are SENT into the world.

In verse 19, the Lord Jesus has sanctified Himself for us. He sanctified Himself by upholding all righteousness through the sacrifice and death of Himself upon the cross of Calvary. We are to be sanctified in THAT truth that IN the Lord’s sacrifice He not only sanctified Himself, but sanctified us in the manifold wisdom of God. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

In verse 20, the Holy Spirit of God clarifies that Chapter 17 of John was not only given for the present disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ in His day, but the same blessings that they had are applied to US in THIS day because we have obeyed the word of truth, and we are sanctified by that word which includes both the written and the Living word of God, the Lord Jesus Christ. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word.

Since we, as the children of God, are not of this world, where do we belong? And to what world do we belong? We belong to the world to come. We are now residents of that world although we are in this present evil world. (Another example of the dual presence.) We have been sent into this world as was confirmed in John 17. Five times in the Scriptures the world to come is mentioned and only in the New Testament.

And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the [world] to come. (Matthew 12:32)

But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. (Mark 10:30)

Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in  the world to come life everlasting. (Luke 18:30)

For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak. (Hebrews 2:5)

And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, (Hebrews 6:5)

The Mystery of the Taste of the World to Come

—— ♦——

The children of God (in their transformation) have been translated into the kingdom of God’s dear Son. Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son. (Colossians 1:13) Through this translation we have been given a taste of the world to come by the Spirit of Christ within us. Thus, revealing to us the world to come, and that we belong to this world to come, and that we have been SENT by Christ Himself into this present evil world. Believing also that the Son of God was SENT from heaven, and that He existed before He was manifested on earth as Jesus Christ. However, with His name He has been known within the Godhead in the determinate counsels of God.

He was SENT of the Father. This He declared many times in the gospel of John, and thus, He has SENT us into the world that we may glorify Him and His name which is above every name. When the Spirit of Christ came into us, we were transformed from death to life and all things became new. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2nd Corinthians 5:17)

At that point in time, as a child of God, I received the Spirit of Christ as the earnest of my salvation. Let’s look at the definition of the word earnest: “something of value given by a buyer to a seller to bind a bargain, a token of what is to come : PLEDGE.” When we receive the Spirit of Christ, it is also to seal us to those things which are laid up for us in our salvation, whether it be in heaven or in the world to come.

For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. (Romans 8:19)

Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. (2nd Corinthians 1:22)

Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing [is] God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. (2nd Corinthians 5:5)

In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, (Ephesians 1:13) Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. (Ephesians 1:14)

The Mystery of Being Sealed for the World to Come

—— ♦——

We need to examine our new birth and what takes place the second that God in Christ transforms us from a child of Adam and the devil to a child of God. Many do not see the common denominator between Adam and Satan, or Lucifer. The common thread is sin, both with Lucifer and Adam.

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! (Isaiah 14:12)

For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: (Isaiah 14:13)

I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. (Isaiah 14:14)

Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. (Isaiah 14:15)

They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; (Isaiah 14:16)

That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners? (Isaiah 14:17)

All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house. (Isaiah 14:18)

But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet. (Isaiah 14:19)

Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned. (Isaiah 14:20)

∼

Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. (Ezekiel 28:13)

Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. (Ezekiel 28:14)

Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. (Ezekiel 28:15)

By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. (Ezekiel 28:16)

∼

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (Romans 5:12)

Notice in verse 16 of Ezekiel 28 that the Holy Spirit inserts the word sinned, and it is attributed to Lucifer as the covering cherub. Lucifer was one of the covering cherubs who God had placed over the divine mercy seat in heaven. Of course, with Lucifer’s fall into sin, he was replaced as Ezekiel Chapter 28 informs us. And when the tabernacle was given there were two covering cherubs. God has seen fit not to give us the names of these two Cherubims. Could it be Michael and Gabriel? This we do not know. We know that they did not rebel against God. God has used them both in key circumstances throughout the history of mankind.

As a child of Adam, I came into this world with no hope until God in His divine counsel and sovereign will quickened me. No matter how much you think that your will is so important, you cannot quicken yourself. God quickened us by His Spirit. This is the Spirit of Christ who came to dwell within our hearts. Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

The same earnest, the same token of the Spirit of God in Jesus Christ is given to us in 2nd Corinthians 5:5, Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. The fact that God puts within us His Spirit SEALS the child of God for ALL eternity. From the second of your salvation your eternity is settled, no questions asked; thus, the Spirit of God gives us the SEAL to SEAL the whole transaction. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, (Ephesians 1:13) Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.(Ephesians 1:13) You were SEALED after that ye believed, you were SEALED with the holy Spirit of promise, and this promise is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. You can break the seal of a king, or the seal of a government, but you cannot break the SEAL of the Holy Spirit of God at the moment of your salvation. The reason that there is so much confusion around this sealing of the Holy Spirit of God is that those who are outside of Christ are playing at religion and they DO NOT HAVE the Spirit of promise. They have not been sealed. I can see the doubts for the Spirit of Christ is not within them. They still live in the world, play in the world, and love the world. They follow all the traits of Adam and his father the devil; consequently, there is no assurance of anything, for they have not been SEALED. This is why the Spirit of God gave us Romans 8:9, But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Romans Chapter 8, verse 2 begins the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus, For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. In contrast to the Law of Sin and Death in Adam, the Holy Spirit then shows us the difference between the flesh of Adam and the Spirit of Christ so that when we get to verse 9 He shows us that if anyone has NOT the Spirit of Christ he is none of His because they have not been SEALED by the Spirit of promise. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

The Love of God Set Us Free

—— ♦——

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. In John 13:20, the Lord makes sure that we understand that when He sent us into the world to show forth His truth and glory that the world would not receive us because we would be too far out of the main stream of religion. (They have done their best to change me, but this is impossible because of the Spirit of promise within. They won’t receive me in the religion of man, and the world will not receive me just as it would not receive God the Son and God the Father who sent Him.) When you have a perverted religion of man, everything becomes a debate because man loves to debate. The purpose of the debate is for man to display his own intellectual so-called wisdom and not the wisdom of God in Jesus Christ. Over the centuries all kinds of key phrases have been developed by sinful men who are outside of the word of God. When you meet someone and they tell you that they are of Christ, the first thing that they ask is, What church do you attend? They have no concept of the body of Christ. The reason within Adam and his curiosity of a church is to fit you into a preconceived box so they can debate with you. This devious question is their way of looking for spiritual faults. This is how Adam discerns who he and his father will fellowship with and whom they will accept. The world wants to cast us out of the world because they believe that they have the right to judge ALL that is of God.

This is what sin brought to the world: an endless system of bondage whether political or religious. The same world that condemned the Lord Jesus still exists today. The faces have changed, but Pilate and Herod still rule the mob, and the mob are the Jews and the religious leaders of today. They still have their perishing throne of evil but maintain their power over the children of Adam. This is a fact that few admit: when I come in the name of my Savior Jesus Christ this is not good enough for the world unless I add one of their traditions, decrees, creed, or ceremonial observances to the word of God that detracts from my Savior. The world wants to add a system to you, a denomination, a false religion, a name because the name of Christ is not enough. They do this knowing the truth yet not believing the truth. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness. (Romans 1:18) And this is the very thing that holds them in bondage for they have decided willfully inside their hearts not to seek the truth, or obey the words of the Lord Jesus Christ. And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:32) If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. (John 8:36)

This freedom that the Lord offers is the freedom from sin, the freedom from Adam. Adam was not in any bondage until sin came into him and into the world. Then ALL men from Adam were in bondage and could not go back. There had to be a force greater than sin to break the shackles of sin. This force was and is the righteousness of God. But how was God going to reconcile man and still be a righteous God? God had established the penalty for sin which was death. The words continued to ring in Adam’s ears, Thou shalt surely die. Reconciliation had to come from God because Adam in his bondage to sin had no power to change himself. So God had to pay the penalty for sin and death. He would have to pay it in full for every man. He would have to justify Himself by lifting the sin of the whole world upon Himself. It was God IN Christ reconciling the world into Himself. Adam had no part in this reconciliation, and today, Adam still does not have a part in God reconciling the world unto Himself. The sacrifice of the divine High Priest Himself shed His own blood on the cross of Calvary. Christ PAID the price of sin through the work of atonement so that man could be lifted out of sin and death. He did this by being a Man from heaven, a holy and righteous Man without sin, without and within, no blemish of Adam was upon Him or in Him.

When John baptized the Lord Jesus unto the Lord’s death, we also have the Divine Priest washing at the laver. Jordan was the introduction of the sinless One from heaven. He finished all righteousness by walking through the world unspotted by the world. In Matthew 3:15 the Lord Jesus told John that in the Jordan it is up to them to fulfill all righteousness. The Lord was being baptized unto His own death, and He knew that His death would fulfill all righteousness. The finality of this righteousness, the complete fulfillment, came from the lips of the Lord Jesus Christ in the three words, It is finished. Righteousness was fulfilled.

See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: (Hebrews 12:25) Paul was listening to the voice from above when he gave us Romans 6:10-14.

For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. (Romans 6:10)

Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:11)

Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. (Romans 6:12)

Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. (Romans 6:13)

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. (Romans 6:14)

True Christianity is not a way of life. It is a new life in Christ Jesus. It is not a reformation, but a transformation from death to life.

Freedom from sin has given us the capability to live unto righteousness. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. (Romans 6:18) With this capability to live in righteousness we have everlasting life. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. (Romans 6:22) We have been made the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ. True Christianity is not a way of life. It is a new life in Christ Jesus. It is not a reformation, but a transformation from death to life. And this life is in Christ in the power of His endless life. Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life. (Hebrews 7:16) New birth means a new creation, a new creature not of Adam, but supernaturally transformed and translated into the kingdom of His dear Son, or Son of His love.

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: (Colossians 1:13)

That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory. (1st Thessalonians 2:12)

Now there is one kingdom, the kingdom of God’s dear Son as we see in 1st Thessalonians 2:12, and this kingdom belongs to the Conqueror. It is Christ who conquered sin and death and the works of the devil. The Son of God (as the fullness of the Godhead bodily) sacrificed Himself for sin and for love. He exercised the love of God within Himself to justify those who would believe in the presence of God. His love was without bounds for He bore the sin of the whole world upon Himself. We are children of God by the adoption of suffering. This has put us into a relationship of sons with God the Father.

To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.(Galatians 4:5) And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. (Galatians 4:6) Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. (Galatians 4:7)

We are the sheep of His pasture, the lambs of His dominion, the flock of His love, and the fold of His eternity.

The world has been trying for more than two thousand years to take away our sonship in Jesus Christ. The religious systems of this world not only deny our sonship, but they deny the very sonship of Christ when they try to make Him of Adam, and not of God. They cannot see the wonder of God’s grace that embraces the children of God. They have never been able to fathom the depth, the height, or the breadth of the love of God. To all those who read these lines, it is not man whom we obey, it is God. We seek Him in our heart, soul and spirit with the eternal flame of His love within our hearts. He cries out to the world to seek Him while He may be found. Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: (Isaiah 55:6) Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. (Isaiah 55:7) The very words of Isaiah have been fulfilled many times throughout the history of mankind, and God (through His grace) is still fulfilling it today in grace and truth in Jesus Christ. This grace and truth have come from above in the very Person of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. We, as the children of God, come in that very name. It is the name above every name. It is the very wonder of God IN Christ reconciling the world unto Himself. We are the sheep of His pasture, the lambs of His dominion, the flock of His love, and the fold of His eternity. He has embraced us with the everlasting arms of the cross of Calvary, and through His Spirit within He allows us to hear the very heartbeat of God by the presence of His Spirit within us. Truly, in His presence is the fulness of joy.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. (John 13:20)

Amen and Amen.
