The Perfections of Christ – Hebrews 10:1 –

The Perfections of Christ

Hebrews 10:1

For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. (Hebrews 10:1)

The Pure and Perfect Christ

.999 is NOT perfect; we measure gold and silver this way. God measures His gold with complete purity. In Exodus Chapter 37 the word gold is mentioned twenty times in seventeen verses. The words pure gold is mentioned nine times and concerning the lampstand (candlestick) it was BEATEN out of pure gold: NOT .999. God is the ONLY authority on purity, and therefore, any gold that has been used of Him has NO dross.

• And he overlaid it with pure gold within and without, and made a crown of gold to it round about. (Exodus 37:2)

• And he made the mercy seat [of] pure gold: two cubits and a half [was] the length thereof, and one cubit and a half the breadth thereof. (Exodus 37:6)

• And he overlaid it with pure gold, and made thereunto a crown of gold round about. (Exodus 37:11)

• And he made the vessels which [were] upon the table, his dishes, and his spoons, and his bowls, and his covers to cover withal, [of] pure gold. (Exodus 37:16)

• And he made the candlestick [of] pure gold: [of] beaten work made he the candlestick; his shaft, and his branch, his bowls, his knops, and his flowers, were of the same:(Exodus 37:17)

• Their knops and their branches were of the same: all of it [was] one beaten work [of] pure gold. (Exodus 37:22)

• And he made his seven lamps, and his snuffers, and his snuffdishes, [of] pure gold. (Exodus 37:23)

• [Of] a talent of pure gold made he it, and all the vessels thereof. (Exodus 37:24)

• And he overlaid it with pure gold, [both] the top of it, and the sides thereof round about, and the horns of it: also he made unto it a crown of gold round about. (Exodus 37:26

In Exodus 37:17 it is the pureness of the gold of the lampstand or candlestick that causes the light to burn brighter that is why the Holy Spirit uses the words pure gold. And he made the candlestick [of] pure gold: [of] beaten work made he the candlestick; his shaft, and his branch, his bowls, his knops, and his flowers, were of the same. The lampstand/candlestick is referenced with these words  pure gold four times. (Four being the Earth number.) As Christ is the life and light of the world the candlestick is the only article within the Tabernacle that has a living name, a personal name, a name of possession. In reference to the candlestick, the word his is mentioned seven times, however it can also be considered to be eight times if you include his seven lamps (but the seven lamps IS the total of the candlestick) so, therefore, I will stick with the number being SEVEN times in Chapter 37 of Exodus. Five times in verse 17 . . . And he made the candlestick [of] pure gold: [of] beaten work made he the candlestick; his shaft, and his branch, his bowls, his knops, and his flowers, were of the same, and twice in verse 23 And he made his seven lamps, and his snuffers, and his snuffdishes, [of] pure gold.

Christ the Pure and Perfect Beaten Gold

As Christ brought life and light to man, it was through His beaten work on the cross both seen and unseen. The word beaten is used two times in Exodus 37 regarding the candlestick. And he made the candlestick [of] pure gold: [of] beaten work made he the candlestick; his shaft, and his branch, his bowls, his knops, and his flowers, were of the same: (Exodus 37:17) Their knops and their branches were of the same: all of it [was] one beaten work [of] pure gold. (Exodus 37:22). Christ was the witness of God to man and the witness of the God Man from God for man. His life and death were that perfect beaten work of pure gold that kept and keeps the light of heaven shining as a witness of God’s love in the Son of man at God’s right hand. Someone once said, ‘As the Son of God He brought God to man, and as the Son of man He brought man to God, and between them both He became the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world.’

The lampstand/candlestick did not go out, it was a continuous light in the Tabernacle. And on the day of the Lord’s crucifixion the light of the lampstand did not go out on that day, it only received more holy oil to burn brighter into a sinful world. The gold throughout the Tabernacle could not have any imperfection for every article of gold reflected the light of Christ.

So now, as we walk with the lampstand/candlestick in this world, the lampstand of the Body of Christ through the whole history of the Church, we see his shaft, and his branch, his bowls, his knops, and his flowers . . . His shaft, His branch, His bowls, His knops, and His flowers. We see the shaft of His strength as His branch reaches into the world with the bowls filled with His love. We have the knops of His love and security to hang on to, and the flowers of the sweet scent of our beloved in pure sweetness. His cheeks [are] as a bed of spices, [as] sweet flowers: his lips [like] lilies, dropping sweet smelling myrrh. (Song of Songs 5:13) And he made his seven lamps, and his snuffers, and his snuffdishes, [of] pure gold. In verse 23, we see the seven lamps, and His snuffers, and His snuff dishes. We see the seven Spirits of God in the seven lamps.

•And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. (Revelation 4:5)

•And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof: (Zechariah 4:2)

• For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth. (Zechariah 4:10)

•And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. (Revelation 5:6)

•For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars. (2nd Chronicles 16:9)

• The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. (Proverbs 15:3)

Christ the Pure and Perfect Light

The lampstand has a personal reflection of Christ IN His very Person, for in Revelation Chapter 1, He walks among the candlesticks as the High Priest forever after the order and oath of Melchisedec. And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; (Revelation 1:12) And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. (Revelation 1:13) He personally reflects His light through the seven candlesticks. He personally (through the ministry to the seven Churches) trims the wicks and pours in the holy oil. We see His work among the candlesticks in ALL seven letters to the churches. The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches. (Revelation 1:20) These seven churches are to be a reflection of His Person: the holy oil is in all seven bowls, which are the seven Spirits of God which sees all and pierces the darkness of the souls of men. And thou shalt take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle, and all that [is] therein, and shalt hallow it, and all the vessels thereof: and it shall be holy. (Exodus 40:9)

The wicks are consumed for the glory of God, and they are made pure in God’s dear Son. The Light that we (the wicks) possess is not ours to keep hidden within, but as the wicks in the lampstand are surrounded by pure gold we are also set in holy oil. And the Light of the lampstand burned through them. The wicks were not permanent, they had a life span, and this life span was spent in the light of the lampstand, and the light of the lampstand faded not away. In Christ the flesh is as the grass, it grows and has a lifetime, and then it fades away.

The Spirit of life in Christ Jesus is the unblemished, beaten work of pure gold which is in every believer of Christ. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (Hebrews 11:6) To some, heavenly riches mean reward IN THIS life. Yet this life is NOT the heavenly life. Only what is of Christ IS the heavenly life. And the reward for those who give a life is not a great thing to them, for they always compare their life to what Christ gave for them for although He was rich, he became poor. For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. Although He was very GOD, (2nd Corinthians 8:9) He humbled Himself.

Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: (Philippians 2:6) But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: (Philippians 2:7) And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. (Philippians 2:8)

The ONE who hung between heaven and earth was that pure gold candlestick. So, when darkness came over the whole world, and when His time had come, He said, It is finished. Then the darkness departed, and God’s glorious light shined bright.

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: (Philippians 2:9) That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; (Philippians 2:10) And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:11)

God said Let there be light, and there was light. And God saw that the Light was good, for it came forth out of the lampstand of pure gold.

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. (Genesis 1:3) And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. (Genesis 1:4) And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. (Genesis 1:5)

This was the beginning of our new Light and Day when He, the Lord Jesus Christ, finished the fullness of time. In our redemption Peter separates the world of gold and silver and injects the blood of Christ as far richer and purer than any earthly possessions. Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; (1st Peter 1:18) Both silver and gold is eliminated from the earthly equation, and it is replaced with perfection in verse 19. But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. Now we have a hundred percent perfection . . . NOT .999. We have the purity and the perfection in Christ Himself. His shaft, His branch, His bowls, His flowers, and we see something more, not only is it pure, but it is without blemish and without spot. There is NOTHING to dim the light of the seven Spirits of God.

—– ♦  —–

Christ the Pure and Perfect Sin Bearer

Being without blemish and without spot takes us back in the history of scripture to the day of atonement, and the sin offering without blemish and without spot, Christ fulfilled that final day of atonement forever on the cross of Calvary just as the lamb on the day of atonement had no blemish without or within. Christ was without spot. If Christ had a blemish, if Christ had a spot, He could not have fulfilled His act of obedience to God as the Sin Bearer. The Holy Spirit (who is the active voice of Christ through the holy word of God, and to the holy brethren who are partakers of the heavenly calling the Spirit of Christ) confirms in our heart that He knew no sin. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (2nd Corinthians 5:21) This is not just a statement by the Holy Spirit of God, it is a proof that that holy thing that came from heaven KNEW NO SIN. Adam knew sin, but Christ knew NO sin. That holy thing grew to be the holy child Jesus, and that holy child Jesus grew to manhood, and He as Man KNEW NO sin. The Holy Spirit tells us that He was without sin. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. (Hebrews 4:15) This confirms what Peter told us that Christ had NO BLEMISH within or without. Hebrews 7:26 discloses For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; the Holy Spirit gives us a complete picture of the chosen Lamb of God: that He was holy, and only God is holy, only God has the perfection to be holy. As I mentioned, we are called holy brethren in Hebrews 3:1 ONLY because we are partakers of the heavenly calling IN Jesus Christ. Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus.

In Hebrews 7:26, the Lord Jesus is called harmless as a lamb to the slaughter, He opened not His mouth. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. (Isaiah 53:7) The very ONE who had called the worlds into existence BY His WORD, the very ONE who could call legions of angels, submitted Himself to be the Sin Bearer and entered into death to defeat death for man, OPENED NOT HIS MOUTH. Those who heard His words unanimously agreed that never a man spoke like this Man. The officers answered, Never man spake like this man. (John 7:46) In all His trials, in ALL His temptations, in ALL His sufferings He stood in that pure gold far above Adam and far above all of mankind. There was no guile in His mouth. Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth. (1st Peter 2:22) His very breath breathed words of righteousness: for again, there was never a man that spoke such truth and such life.

In Hebrews 7:26, it says undefiled. Again, not one mark, not one blemish without or within. Another word for purity, another word for perfection and then God the Holy Spirit tells us why He was separated from sinners. He did NOT come from sin. He came from the presence without sin for He was SENT from heaven.

He was NOT of Adam, He was not of Adam’s flesh, He was NOT from the realm of mankind. His birth was a heavenly birth by a heavenly Spirit of eternal life of Christ Jesus our Lord. He was separated from all that was of sin to defeat sin and death.

ONLY His purity could restore the souls of man and GIVE the Spirit of life which is in Christ Jesus.

From the eternal pages of the determinate counsels and foreknowledge of God, He who IS perfection contemplated the cross with no mark on His divine righteousness. He was separated from sinners. That holy thing in Luke 1:35, never changes, as He was in heaven, the heavenly Man, He was also the heavenly Man on earth. As He obeyed God the Father in heaven, He also obeyed God the Father on earth. As He was separated from sinners it left Him separated from all of humanity. He was separated as the lamb of sacrifice was separated from the herd. He was here to TAKE AWAY sin by the sacrifice of Himself. This would be the only way that God could satisfy His own righteousness and be a just Judge of ALL of mankind. It must BE by the sacrifice of Himself. ONLY His purity could restore the souls of man and GIVE the Spirit of life which is in Christ Jesus. God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself. He was that holy thing which was the holy Seed, which was the holy child who was and is the Holy One. But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; (1st Peter 1:15) Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. (1st Peter 1:16)

The Holy Spirit of God leaves out any doubt that the Lord Jesus was PURE and that He was PERFECT, and that within Him was NOTHING of Adam, and there was NO possibility of sin within. His display in His manifestation on earth was NOT to prove that He was a holy man in Adam, but His whole manifestation was to prove THAT GOD HAD COME to display His own PURITY among mankind in the likeness of flesh. When we are told that there was NO SIN within Him then we also see that there was NO possibility of an earthly relationship with Adam. And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. (1st John 3:5) GOD HAD COME, Emmanuel was God with us. It was GOD IN CHRIST to reconcile the world unto Himself. The entire purpose of His manifestation was to reveal His purity as the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world. In Him was NO . . . NO . . . NO SIN. He was the Sin Bearer NOT the sin possessor. All these references to the purity of the Son of God are from the breath of the Holy Spirit and even throughout the epistles of the apostles the Holy Spirit continually fights against unbelief of the very purity of the Son of God.

Christ the Pure and Perfect Son of God

Before the Lord Jesus went to the cross, He spoke about His own purity within as both the Son of man and the Son of God. In the gospel of John 14:30, the Lord declared that the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me. What Satan had used to overthrow Adam and all of Adam’s race, Satan could not find in the Son of God. The devil had no power over the Lord Jesus Christ because there was NO sin within Him. Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me. Where there was NO sin within there could not be a committing of sin. God gives us a perfect example of Judas when Satan entered into him. How? The door of sin was opened, for sin lieth at the door. (Genesis 4:7) The sin nature in every person is open to the whispers from Satan, and open to the enmity within their own hearts. Beware of the serpent. He has not changed. Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. (John 13:26) And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly. (John 13:27) Sin had already been working in Judas. Sin was leading Judas down the dark tunnel so that the finality would be death. This was the greatest conspiracy, the greatest betrayal, the greatest iniquity that ever took place on earth. The actors of sin were Satan, man in Judas, and the high priesthood of the Jews. And what did Judas exchange for his soul because of sin? The selling of his soul came cheaply. Not only was Christ worth thirty pieces of silver to Judas, but this was also the value that he placed on his own soul. He sold out God for filthy lucre. This has been repeated many times throughout the centuries since. Men have sold out God for filthy lucre, dirty money. Without the sight of heaven man is awash in this dark world without the Spirit of Christ within the heart, the tumultuous waves of sin have no mercy for the end of sin is death.

In Matthew Chapter 4, we have the temptation of Christ, this in turn is explained to us in Hebrews Chapter 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. The temptation of the Lord Jesus in Matthew Chapter 4 has so much depth, and so many spiritual points concerning the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ. Christ knew exactly who He was, and He knew exactly who Satan was. It was Christ who had cast Satan down to the ground as documented in Revelation12:10, Ezekiel 28:16 and 17, and Isaiah 14:15. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. (Luke 10:18)

And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. (Revelation 12:10)

By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. (Ezekiel 28:16) Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. (Ezekiel 28:17)

Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. (Isaiah 14:15)

However, in Satan’s temptation he missed one point that Christ (being God) could NOT be tempted. Satan really believed that he had the edge against God in the flesh. Satan failed miserably and this would continue to be a conflict between Satan and man against the Lord Jesus Christ, the anointed of God.

But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. (Hebrews 1:8) Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. (Hebrews 1:9)

He was GOD in the flesh. The Lord prepared Himself for this coming battle between Himself and Satan in a most unusual way. He fasted forty days and forty nights. He proved in this that His own flesh was in subjection to His own deity, and that He was ready to face the devil face to face. The Lord told His disciples when they were not able to cast out the demons that this kind can only be cast out by prayer and fasting. Thus, in Matthew Chapter 4, Christ was about to submit Himself to temptation when God cannot be tempted. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man. (James 1:13)

Reading Genesis Chapter 3 in the temptation of Adam, we have a preconceived thought that this was the first time that Satan saw man. However, through scripture, we are told (in the book of Job) that Satan goes throughout the whole earth searching and seeking those that he may consume. Peter also informs us that Satan is a roaring lion looking for those who he may devour. Before Satan approached Eve, he had been searching and seeking for a point of attack; and what a better plan of attack than by employing his own failure and sin to attempt to overthrow God in denying God’s authority and His word.

While the Lord was fasting forty days and forty nights, Satan was watching Him, preparing his dialogue of temptation. Again, desperately trying to overthrow God and to establish his own throne above the stars of God. James tells us that God cannot be tempted. This is the Spirit’s reaction to those who try to overthrow the purity of the Lord Jesus Christ. Since God was IN Christ, He could NOT be tempted although the devil was given the opportunity to tempt. There was nothing in Christ to respond to temptation. The sin of Adam had never blighted His soul. Christ was free of all sin and His righteousness was a fortification against the wickedness of Satan.

In Matthew 4:3, Satan throws his first challenge question: IF thou be the Son of God.

Side Note: IF thou be the Son of God. Five times this phrase is documented. Four times it is connected to the temptation of Christ, and the last mention was the battle of Satan against Christ while Christ was on the cross.

And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. (Matthew 4:3)

And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in [their] hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. (Matthew 4:6)

And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. (Luke 4:3)

And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence: (Luke 4:8)

And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest [it] in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.  (Matthew 27:40) ♦ End of Side Note: IF thou be the Son of God.

Satan could not conceive that this ONE made of a woman, made under the law, could possibly be the Son of God. The world and man, in Adam, have the same thoughts about the Lord Jesus Christ, and these thoughts are even echoed in the prophetic writings of Isaiah.

Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? (Isaiah 53:1) For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. (Isaiah 53:2) He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. (Isaiah 53:3)

When Satan first sinned in heaven, we are also told that enmity and iniquity was found in him that had not been there when he was first created. So, this sin and enmity was passed on to Adam in Adam’s sin against God. The enmity of Satan caused a hatred for God within, and as Satan, this same enmity and sin entered into Adam. So, when the Lord was manifested in the flesh, when Emmanuel came forth as God with us, both Satan and man would not receive Him as God. And through man’s history even to this present age, both Satan and man STILL repeat those words, IF thou be the Son of God.

Both man and Satan have seen the results of PERFECTION in Jesus Christ and yet, they will foster all kinds of lies and perversions against the Son of God. Willfully and joyfully cursing the very name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Until the Spirit of God comes and touches the heart and then one is born of that Spirit, then one cannot see the perfection and the purity of the Lord Jesus Christ. The new birth is a complete sovereign act of God through His supernatural power, and nothing can stop that new birth but unbelief.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. (John 3:6) Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. (John 3:7) The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. (John 3:8)

And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. (Galatians 4:6)

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. (Romans 8:2)

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (John 1:12) Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:13)

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. (1st John 3:1) Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. (1st John 3:2) And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. (1st John 3:3) Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. (1st John 3:4)

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. (Romans 8:9)

Christ the Pure and Perfect High Priest of God

It is quite evident that the Spirit of Christ is the Author of our new birth. It is through the Spirit of Christ that is sent forth by the Father that gives us life in the Spirit of Christ to free us from the Law of Sin and Death. The supernatural work of the Spirit of Christ is the awakening force that opens the heart of man to the perfection of the Almighty God, and the love of God which is displayed and exemplified IN the Person of Jesus Christ. Each time that a child of God walks into the darkness of this world, he is carrying that light and Spirit of Christ with him. The perfection of Christ is the root of His power. In that perfection, His total righteousness reveals the perfection of all that He is. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, He is the fulfiller of all of the divine promises, He is the Keeper of the very creation that He created, both the SEEN and the UNSEEN. Here is the mystery of God manifest in the flesh, although He were a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things that He suffered. Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered. (Hebrews 5:8) And being made perfect . . . And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him. (Hebrews 5:9) Here we hear the voice of the Spirit of God, even in what our blessed Lord and Savior suffered through what He endured on the cross, the unseen battle against sin and death and the works of the devil. There on the cross of Christ PERFECTION was fulfilled in taking sin out of the way and destroying death and the works of the devil. We are quite aware that our blessed Lord suffered in the flesh. He also suffered in the very depths of His eternal Spirit for He offered Himself in the flesh through His eternal Spirit. How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (Hebrews 9:14)

There is a long process of the revelation of the perfection of Christ. This is why the Spirit of God in Hebrews 5:10 takes us from the present day in Christ back to Melchisedec. Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec. (Hebrews 5:10) It was THIS Melchisedec, the eternal Priest of the most high God that offered Himself both in His priesthood and as the PURE Lamb of God in the sacrifice in the flesh. He came in the order and oath of the Lord’s priesthood. He had known NO defilement for it would be impossible for a defiled priest to offer a sacrifice for the redemption of man. Thou shalt also make a laver [of] brass, and his foot [also of] brass, to wash [withal]: and thou shalt put it between the tabernacle of the congregation and the altar, and thou shalt put water therein. (Exodus 30:18) For Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet thereat: (Exodus 30:19) When they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, they shall wash with water, that they die not; or when they come near to the altar to minister, to burn offering made by fire unto the LORD: (Exodus 30:20) And He offered the sacrifice of Himself and He had to be clean within and without. Only THEN could this High Priest offer Himself as a Lamb to God for the holy convocation of man’s redemption. The unity of the priesthood of the Son of God and He, being the eternal sacrifice once and for all, is beyond all our comprehension for although we are partakers of His grace, we come by His path through the perfecting of both the priesthood and the sacrifice for sin. This was displayed in the life of Jesus Christ before man, before angels, and before God the Father. The divine perfection was the walk of the priest and only this High Priest after the order of Melchisedec could pronounce the leper of sin clean. Christ gives us this example of His divine power and will in the words that He spoke to the leper, I WILL; be thou clean.

And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. (Matthew 8:2) And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. (Matthew 8:3) And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them. (Matthew 8:4)

In Matthew Chapter 8, we see the priesthood of Melchisedec in Christ Jesus. Only the authority of the priest could pronounce the leper clean, and even then, to fulfill the whole law of God, He submitted Himself to the Law of Moses telling the leper to offer the gift that Moses commanded. He was made of a woman to fulfill His life AS the Son of man. He was made under the law to fulfill the law and His eternal priesthood AS Melchisedec. As the Son of man, He was the Sin Bearer, as the High Priest He offered the sacrifice of sin under the law, which was His flesh. The very specific Body that was prepared for Him. Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me. (Hebrews 10:5) This was a Body prepared for Him for the divine sacrifice of Himself as the Son of man. It was the outward manifestation of God in the flesh, however, we cannot forget that within the Man Christ Jesus WAS and IS the eternal Spirit of the Son of God. Only this unique combination could give us the supernatural Man from heaven to take away sin.

By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. (Hebrews 10:10) And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: (Hebrews 10:11) But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; (Hebrews 10:12) From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. (Hebrews 10:13) For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. (Hebrews 10:14)

We are sanctified by the offering of the Body that was prepared for the Lord Jesus Christ once and for all. In the old economy, no matter how many offerings were offered by the priesthood, we are told that they could NEVER take away sin. They were merely a covering for the present time UNTIL the fullness of time came in the Lord Jesus Christ. Christ’s offering was greater than ALL the sacrifices for sin. His sacrifice for sin is recorded by the Holy Spirit to be FOREVER. And because we are sanctified by the offering of the Lord Jesus Christ in His flesh IN His perfection, He has perfected us FOREVER, one time, each and every one who is sanctified through the death of His body on the tree: the Body that was prepared for Him. In the Old Testament before the nation of Israel could be sanctified, before the Tabernacle and the articles of the Tabernacle could be sanctified and before the priesthood could be sanctified, they had to first be sprinkled with blood.

And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. (Hebrews 12:24)

And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you concerning all these words. (Exodus 24:8)

Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. (1st Peter 1:2)

Only in His eternal priesthood as the high Priest of the most high God, Christ as Melchisedec, Upholder and Fulfiller of ALL righteousness is anointed of God with the oil of gladness is able to sanctify us with His own blood FOREVER.

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! (Psalm 133:1) It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; (Psalm 133:2) As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore. (Psalm 133:3)

The anointing of Aaron with the holy oil, not just any oil, but a holy oil specific for the anointing of the high priest and for the priesthood could not be duplicated or used for any other purpose. This holy oil was ONLY a shadow of the oil of gladness in the anointing of the Son of God as Melchisedec. Christ was anointed with the holy oil of gladness FOR and BECAUSE of good things to come.  He is anointed ABOVE Aaron, and His brethren before the foundation of the earth. Read the sequel in Hebrews Chapter 1, verse 8 – 10.

(Hebrews 1:9) And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: (Hebrews 1:10)

Notice the progression of the Spirit of God in these thoughts of Christ. It is a continuity of both a King of peace and a Priest of righteousness after the oath and order of Melchisedec. In Genesis Chapter 14, we see Melchisedec as the Priest of the most high God, the first revelation of God to Abraham was GOD appearing to Abraham as the God of glory. And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran. (Acts 7:2) In the second revelation to Abraham was God’s appearance in Melchisedec in Genesis Chapter 14. He not only revealed Himself as the Priest of the most high God, but He revealed Himself as the King of peace as well in Genesis 14, verses 18 -20, and 22.

And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. (Genesis 14:18) And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: (Genesis 14:19) And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all. (Genesis 14:20)

And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth, (Genesis 14:22)

For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; (Hebrews 7:1) To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace; (Hebrews 7:2)

Before we move away from the priesthood of Melchisedec, I would like to return to Psalm 33, verse 3, remember that this is a psalm of unity because of the holy oil. And in verse 3, we see the perpetual and the continual and the forever of the life evermore. And where did that blessing take place? On the mountains of Zion. The same mount that God promised His King, the Lord Jesus Christ. Abraham prepared an altar to offer his son Isaac, yet God provided Himself a sacrifice in His own beloved Son. In the priesthood of the Lord Jesus Christ from the cross He spoke of life evermore turning to the thief on the cross with the eyes of sovereignty, with the eyes of humility, with the eyes of His heart, the Lord Jesus commanded the blessing of life evermore: today thou shalt be with me in paradise. This is our great High Priest, Jesus Christ. Not just a mere priest, but the greatest of all in the spiritual representation of God to man. Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. (Hebrews 4:14) Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; (Hebrews 3:1) But made like unto the Son of God abideth a Priest continually. He is the ROOT of the everlasting priesthood. Not just as His representation on earth in His life, in His path, and in the miracles among the sons of man. He is a Priest forever: yesterday, today and forever. Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually. (Hebrews 7:3)

Christ the Pure and Perfect Son of Man

Let’s examine but made like unto the Son of God. The Son of God is the manifest image of the invisible God. In the Body that was prepared for Him, He is the representation and manifestation of THAT Body, THAT Person, the Son of God. He also in that Person, who is the Son of God, is the High Priest from all eternity: past, present and future. His priesthood is continual based on His own sacrifice giving His life for the redemption of man. The eternity of the Son of God has always been in question by the world for they would rather embrace the man Jesus in Adam than embrace the Man Christ Jesus in God. You cannot make God man in sin. God came as a representative of the heavenly Man to redeem the lost world of man in Adam. The Lord Jesus has not saved any one of us FOR the world. He saved us FROM the world. Our dwelling place with Him is NOT in the world, but in heaven above. Although we tread the dust of this world as children of God, we are NOT of this world just as our Lord and Savior was not of this world. Since the days of the apostles, the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, His Body has been in a great conflict both with the children of Adam and Satan himself.

In our present time period, the world and Satan, has built a HUGH counterfeit church under many names and under many different thoughts and understandings all to confuse and to dilute and to deny the truth of the word of God and most of all to deny God’s Christ. Throughout the centuries the counterfeit church has grown as Satan has inserted the same thoughts of the world into this false church concerning the Person of Christ. When anyone thinks that there is a chance of any defilement upon the Son of God in His birth, in His life, in His death, in His resurrection and in His ascension to the right hand of God that one speck of defilement has come from a heart of unbelief with the same words of Satan:  If thou be the Son of God. The world and the counterfeit church want Adam and Adam’s mentor, the devil, to rule over them. They do not want a PURE sovereign Son of the most high God, Christ Jesus, our Lord. When they deny His eternal priesthood, they also deny His eternal Sonship and when they deny His eternal image, they also deny the perfect divine Body that was prepared for Him in His manifestation of the invisible God. When John, in his captivity and banishment on the Isle of Patmos, received the revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto His Son to show His servants things which must shortly come to pass John beheld the image of the Son of man in the fullness of His priesthood walking among the candlesticks. The same was the Ancient of days in the vision of Daniel. All was revealed as John gave a title to the image that He saw was that same Jesus the Son of man. Christ is NOW in His ministry as Melchisedec ministering to the churches, to the redeemed ones who He purchased with His own blood. This full description of Melchisedec as the Priest of the most high God even in this grand revelation we see His spiritual ministry to His own Body: His Church.

I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, (Revelation 1:10)

Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. (Revelation 1:11)

And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; (Revelation 1:12)

And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. (Revelation 1:13)

His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; (Revelation 1:14)

And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. (Revelation 1:15)

And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength. (Revelation 1:16)

And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: (Revelation 1:17)

I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. (Revelation 1:18)

Do we dare look into the eyes of fire of Him who we have to do? Do we dare listen to His voice as a trumpet as the voice of thunder, as the voice of many waters, as the voice of the Son of man? In the closing of the revelation the Lord Jesus proclaimed, I Jesus have sent my angel to testify to the churches. I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. (Revelation 22:16) God’s voice is represented in many ways throughout the scriptures. He has spoken to man from His own manifestation as the Son of God. He has spoken from a cloud, and from a mountain. He has spoken with thundering, and He has spoken with a still small voice. He has spoken in the past, and the present, through His word for His word is the continual voice of the Spirit of God. And this voice will continue into the future. John first describes the voice of the Lord as a trumpet sounding. In the history of the nation of Israel, the trumpet was used to assemble all of Israel. It was also used to announce the year of jubile. Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth [day] of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land. (Leviticus 25:9) In Revelation 1:10, this voice is not only to John, but this voice is a continual voice to the churches with all authority from both the King and the Priest of the most high God. I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet.

In this manifestation of the Lord Jesus Christ in Revelation Chapter 1, Christ is fulfilling the words that He spoke to Peter in John Chapter 21, verses 21 and 22, Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.

Why do I treat this as a manifestation and not as a vision? because first, it takes place in the world; secondly, it takes place on the Isle of Patmos, and thirdly, it fulfills the prophecy of the Lord to Peter that He gave before His ascension. In verse 17 of Revelation Chapter 1, the Lord lays His physical hand on the apostle John. And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last. And reaffirms to John that He is the first and the last and that Christ IS the Alpha and Omega, and that Christ IS the eternal God that liveth forever. I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. What was revealed on the Isle of Patmos had never been revealed before, and we should remember that this is before the door in heaven is open to John in Chapter 4. The first three chapters of the book of the Revelation deals with what takes place on earth during the timeline of Church history. Everything prior to the door opening in heaven is related to the Church here on earth and the ministry of the High Priest, the Lord Jesus Christ, walking among the candlesticks.

When the high priest in the Old Testament went into the Tabernacle, the whole nation of Israel lost sight of this priest. During the sacrifice and offering on the brazen altar in the courtyard and on the cross the sacrifice was offered in the sight of all of the nation of Israel, but when the high priest entered into the Tabernacle he was out of the sight of the nation and people who were called of God. As He walks through the seven golden candlesticks in the book of the Revelation, He is out of our sight, but nevertheless, He has a presence in our hearts. He is the High Priest of God, although we do not see Him in heaven, He is ministering to us by His Spirit as He trims the wicks and pours in the oil into every branch and every bowl so that through His Spirit there is fruit produced by God.

When John turned to see the voice that spoke, for up to this moment it was the voice that had the preeminence, but when John turned, then he saw the seven golden candlesticks. Each candlestick had one main stem and six branches giving seven lights in each candlestick thus giving us a total of forty-nine. In the Old Testament, the forty-ninth year actually began the year of jubile, which was the fiftieth year, so in these candlesticks we see the complete movement of the Lord Jesus Christ through His Church during the whole history of the Church on the earth. And in this glorious fulfillment He will call His Church home to Himself. Another point we need to see is one like unto the Son of man. And in the midst of the seven candlesticks [one] like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.(Revelation 1:13) The same Son of man that John walked with upon the earth during the Lord’s ministry before His crucifixion was the same Son of man that was manifested before John on the Isle of Patmos. He was clothed with a garment that reached down to His feet. The High Priestly robe covered His entire frame: the robe of sanctification, the robe of His own purity, the robe of His own perfection, the robe of He who is first, and He who is last, the robe of the beginning of the creation of God for nothing came forth without that voice of a trumpet.

From utter darkness the beginning of the creation of God Jesus Christ spoke the heavens and the earth, the stars, and the abundance of creatures into existence both in heaven and on earth. He is the first to create from absolutely nothing, and He is the last to uphold all things that He created by the word of His power. And the high priestly girdle that Christ wore on the Isle of Patmos was the golden girdle of His own righteousness that He fulfilled in His life, in His death, in His resurrection and in His position at the right hand of God. Both His head and His hairs were as wool as white as snow for all His thoughts, all His actions, all that was in the determinate counsels of God was in pureness of thought, holiness and righteousness. Then we have the outward flames of fire, His eyes which pierces every heart for He knows what is in man and what man is capable of. In Adam it was the flame of fire that judged the sin that Adam brought into the world. The first fire that was kindled on earth was NOT man’s discovery of fire, but the flame of fire that God lit upon the altar in the garden and sacrificed the two sacrifices for both Adam and Eve. God revealed FIRE by revelation to both Adam and Eve. And those first flames of fire were symbols of God’s judgment upon two innocent beasts for the sin of man. The first offering was only a type or shadow of the one offering of Christ on the cross for the sin that Adam brought into the world. In the last book of the Bible, we see once more the flame of fire which is also symbolic of the eyes of the Lord in the Lamb as the seven Spirits of God that goes forth into all the earth. And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. (Revelation 4:5) And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. (Revelation 5:6) To complete this manifestation of the Person of the Son of man, His feet were as fine brass as if they burned in a furnace. Again, we see that through the fine brass and the fire of the furnace judgment will come upon the earth, and this judgment will be against the sons of man who have not obeyed the Christ of God and His Spirit.

Only one time in scripture were waters used for judgment over the whole earth: those who had refused God and those who watched and acted in their own ungodly imaginations were erased from the earth by the many waters. Since the very day that the Lord proclaimed It is finished, His voice has traveled over the populace of the world as the sound of many waters. These are the waters crying out to man to repent and to turn to God. The High priest is walking among the candlesticks, He is the first and the last, and in this visible manifestation it is He that liveth, and was dead, and He assures the apostle John that He is alive forever more. It was upon one of the mountains of Zion, (Moriah) on the cross of Calvary, that the Lord Jesus brought forth the blessing, even life forever more, and He has the keys of both hell and of death. I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. (Revelation 1:18)

In chapters 1, 2 and 3 of the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, Christ is manifested before John on the Isle of Patmos. All that takes place and is given in these three chapters are given directly to John by the manifestation of the Son of man, who is the image of the invisible God.

And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God. (Revelation 3:14) In Revelation 3:14, the Lord Jesus confirms that He is the first and the last, that He Himself is the true witness of God, and that He Himself is the beginning of the creation of God thus reaffirming Revelation 1:13 where He is defined as the Royal Priest of God, and that the revelation of this book is the final revelation to mankind which contains both the revelation of His priesthood in its finality, and His kingly reign as the King of Kings in Chapter 19:16, And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. He is also the true Amen, He takes this title or name for Himself here as He closes Church history with the words These things saith the Amen in Revelation 3:14. In this one verse we have the beginning of the creation of God and the Amen of God’s creation.

We also see the joining of His priesthood and His kingly reign in Zechariah 6:12 and 13. And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD: (Zechariah 6:12) Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both. (Zechariah 6:13) In Zechariah Chapter 6, we see the Branch which speaks of the light of the candlestick, the Branch also speaks of the true vine, the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the true light of the world. (John 15) In Zechariah 6, we also see a priest UPON HIS THRONE, the throne speaking of His kingly reign in His millennial kingdom where He will fulfill both His priestly function as the priest forever after the order of Melchisedec, and He will fulfill the promise of the Davidic kingdom as the King that is both the ROOT and the offspring of David, the bright and morning star of the beginning of the creation of God. I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. (Revelation 22:16)

In Zechariah 6:13, we see that between the Lord’s priesthood and His kingly throne there will be the counsel of peace shall be between them both. For Christ has brought peace by His priestly work of righteousness and His kingly position as KING of peace upon His throne. In regard to His priesthood, we looked at Psalm 133, we saw the anointing of oil, the oil of gladness, which only Christ was anointed with.

Aaron as the high priest and David, the chosen of God to be the king of Israel, were both anointed with oil. Aaron was anointed with the holy oil to sanctify him for his holy work before God and David was anointed with the oil OUT of the horn, a symbol of strength and of God’s anointing his kingly position of authority. Although Saul was anointed as king of Israel, he was anointed OUT of the vial, and not the horn. Only a thought: could this have been the horn of the unicorn? We will leave that with the Holy Spirit. But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil. (Psalm 92:10) In both positions, the Lord Jesus was anointed as the great High Priest with the oil of gladness, simply above all, the Lord Jesus was anointed with the OIL OF GLADNESS to sit upon the throne of David, and to bring the finality of peace, not only to the true Israel of God, but to ALL those Gentiles who put their faith in Him. For He is truly the possessor of heaven and of earth. As we look at the book of Genesis, we see the book of ALL beginnings in God’s dealing with mankind. The last book of the Bible, the book of Revelation, is the book of finality: the FINAL judgment of man, the FINALITY of the old creation for God will create a new heaven and a new earth, for the old things must pass away so that ALL can become new. .And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. (Revelation 21:1)

• But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. (2nd Peter 3:10) Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, (2nd Peter 3:11) Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? (2nd Peter 3:12) Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. (2nd Peter 3:13)

• For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. (Isaiah 65:17)

• For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. (Isaiah 66:22)

This will be the last cleansing for all that offends God will be removed for this old earth has moaned and groaned long enough because of the sin of man. The beasts of the field have suffered from the blood thirst of man, and heaven itself has suffered and endured the rebellion of Lucifer, the old serpent, the devil. As man was tempted and fell to the temptation of Lucifer, so man bringing sin into the world suffered the penalty of sin which is death. But where did sin begin? Prior to Lucifer’s downfall, he rebelled against God, and sin was found in him. If we chronologically follow sin, we will discover that the first sin, and mention of sin, took place in heaven. Although Lucifer and his rebellious cohorts were cast out of heaven, sin left scars in the eternal realm of God so that even heaven was cleansed in the sacrifice of Christ on the cross. And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. (Colossians 1:20) In the finality of the old creation all that speaks of the sin of Lucifer and the sin of man MUST BE REMOVED. God has chosen to do this by creating a NEW heaven and a NEW earth. Behold all things will become new. Therefore, if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2nd Corinthians 5:17) And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. (Revelation 21:5)

In the judgment of Satan, and in the judgment of Adam they both (in reality) were cast down to the ground. Lucifer, however, being an angelic entity that CANNOT die, was cast down to an earthly realm, the ground. (Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28) The judgment upon Adam was similar to the judgment of Lucifer, the difference being that Adam COULD DIE. Therefore, God declared since Adam was created from dust that to that same dust, he would return . . . he would end as he began.

And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; (Genesis 3:17) Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; (Genesis 3:18) In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. (Genesis 3:19)

Both Lucifer and Adam in their own respective judgments were both cast down to the ground. The ground became the accursed thing for now upon the face of the earth, God sowed thorns and thistles to be a reminder of the curse that sin had brought upon the earth. This is why when the Lord Jesus was judged by the Roman court, one of the first acts of cruelty was to place a crown of thorns deliberately pushed into the brow of our Sovereign. This was to mock the divine King from heaven. The Roman soldiers represented Caesar, and the earthly rule would have nothing to do with the heavenly Monarch; so, they mocked Him and His kingship. All the Jews prior to this, had sided with the Roman rule they had declared that the Jews, the nation of Israel, had NO king BUT Caesar. The representative king of Satan (Caesar) was held in more esteem than their Creator and King, the Lord Jesus Christ. But the crown of thorns was also necessary to show us that He was not only delivering man from the sin of man and from death, but He was also delivering the creation that was under the curse. Although the Lord Jesus FULFILLED ALL things in His death on the cross in the words, It is finished, the fulfillment of those things has been progressive and ARE still being fulfilled TODAY and will be fulfilled throughout the remaining history of man. The curse had to be lifted and fulfilled in the Lord’s death and would be completely fulfilled at a later date when ALL things will become new for not only man would be delivered from sin and death, but man, IN Christ, would be given a new heaven and a new earth. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. (2nd Peter 3:10) As God used fire in the garden, in the first judgment against sin, so He will use fire once again in the last cleansing when the earth and the elements will melt with God’s fire. In verse 11 of 2nd Peter Chapter 3, God directs the saints to be convicted of these things that they as the children of God, have been bought with a price and this price is the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. The holy conversation that we are to have with the world is that our whole being would walk in the holy conversation and godliness of the Lord.

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, (2nd Peter 3:11) Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? (2nd Peter 3:12) Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. (2nd Peter 3:13) Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. (2nd Peter 3:14)

Made Perfect through the Pure and Perfect Sacrifice

Going back to Hebrews 10:1, we found that all the Old Testament sacrifices could NOT make the comers to those sacrifices PERFECT. For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. However, Christ IN His perfection and the fulfillment of the heavenly will has perfected us unto His holy and heavenly calling that they of the past could not be made perfect without US, and the great Perfector of all, the Lord Jesus Christ. Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; (Hebrews 3:1) God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect. (Hebrews 11:40)

There is a perfection of the saints IN Christ: we are of His Body, that is all those who believe in Jesus Christ are of His Body, the Church, we are of His MIND, and we are of His SPIRIT, the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. In His suffering on the cross, He beheld the travail of His own soul for us. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. (Isaiah 53:11) The work of perfection could only be completed by the ONE who is perfect. In turn, He has made the spirits of just men perfect in Christ. To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect. (Hebrews 12:23)

And do not forget the promises of God throughout the total history of mankind. After Adam and Eve were driven out of the garden and barred from the garden, the only thing that they possessed was the covering of animals, the covering of death upon them. As castaways in the land of thorns and thistles, the first Law that our merciful God gave to them was the Law of Faith in order to remove the Law of Sin and Death. Abel was the first possessor of this divine law of mercy. Faith was given to Abel; thus, he was seen by God as a just person, a just man, made perfect which would take place in the fullness of time when God IN Christ would lay down His life and see the travail of His own soul to make the spirits of just men perfect IN Him. By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. (Hebrews 11:4)

Abel offered a more excellent sacrifice, this excellent sacrifice looked FORWARD to the PERFECT sacrifice in the fullness of time. This word excellent found in Hebrews 11:4 is the ONLY time that this word is mentioned in the ENTIRE Bible. The Holy Spirit had this reason: the word excellent is defining something above goodness, or even magnificent, the word excellent here describes the PERFECTION of Christ, and this is the DIVINE combination of a MORE EXCELLENT SACRIFICE which would be the PERFECT sacrifice IN Christ Jesus our Lord. And this is what the first man of faith offered to God believing in his heart that God was able to deliver him from both sin and death. Abel offered unto God because his spirit could see the fullness of time that in the offering of Christ Himself was the MORE EXCELLENT and PERFECT sacrifice to remove both sin and death, the works of the devil, and the curse upon the creation of God. Christ’s perfection in His offering of Himself would reconcile ALL things to Himself. And Christ as the fulfillment of divine resurrection of life as Abel speaks from the earth, Christ in His divine position speaks from above to a world of lost sinners that they should repent and call upon the name of the Lord and embrace the Law of Faith and listen to the word of God. And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. (Hebrews 12:24) See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: (Hebrews 12:25)

So how much more does the blood of Christ speak of better things than Abel. When Abel was slain by Cain, his blood cried out from the ground. When the centurion took the spear and pierced the heart of God, and those drops of the blood of God fell to the ground, those drops of blood cried out not only with the voice of grace but with the voice of God’s wrath against those who trample underfoot the blood of Christ and do despite to the everlasting Spirit. It is still THAT voice today in Jesus Christ that speaks from heaven, and we are exhorted by the throne of God to listen to that divine voice through the divine Spirit in the word of God. It is the Spirit of Christ who is the divine messenger of His deity to man on earth. The words Holy Spirit are only mentioned seven times in the Bible, thus, fulfilling the seven Spirits of God.

Side Note: The words Holy Spirit in the Bible.

1. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. (Psalm 51:11)

2. But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, [and] he fought against them. (Isaiah 63:10)

3.Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, [and] his people, [saying], Where [is] he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where [is] he that put his holy Spirit within him? (Isaiah 63:11)

4. If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall [your] heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? (Luke 11:13)

5. In whom ye also [trusted], after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, (Ephesians 1:13)

6. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. (Ephesians 4:30)

7. He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit. (1st Thessalonians 4:8) ♦ End  of Side Note: The word Holy Spirit in the Bible

Another fact concerning the words Holy Spirit: only ONE time in the entire Bible are the words Holy Spirit capitalized, and this is in Luke 11:13, If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall [your] heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? This is the revelation that the Lord Jesus Christ gives to us, this was well before Pentecost, and the anointing of the believers with the GIFTS of the Holy Spirit, however, Christ tells us, and the Spirit of God tells us by capitalizing Holy Spirit that God is faithful to those who are His children to give His divine Spirit to them who ask Him. The prophets and the writers of ALL of our Old Testament scriptures, had within them the Spirit of God which is the Spirit of Christ. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (2nd Peter 1:21) Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. (1st Peter 1:11)

Out of dust Christ created us. Out of sin and death, Christ has perfected us. Out of our lowly estate in Adam, Christ has glorified  us.

The perfection of Christ is IN ALL who have put their trust IN Him, and therefore, God the Father has sent forth the Spirit of His Son INTO our hearts crying, Abba, Father. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. (Galatians 4:6) Through the PERFECT, we the children of God, have been made perfect in God’s Christ of perfection. This is not a proud boast, but a humble realization from the Spirit of God within us that out of dust Christ created us.  Out of sin and death, Christ has perfected us. Out of our lowly estate in Adam, Christ glorified us.

Christ the Pure and Perfect Creator

In the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last, this is how the Lord addresses Himself in the book of the Revelation that ALL things begin with Him, and all things end within Him. As John, in Revelation Chapter 1, we fall at His feet as dead. It is difficult to comprehend all of His power, and all His divine attributes, and all His righteousness, holiness, wisdom, sanctification and redemption. It is difficult spiritually to see the manifest image of God, the Lord Jesus Christ as the beginning of the creation of God. There in all His perfection He called out of darkness, out of emptiness, out of the great void and created the heaven and the earth. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (Genesis 1:1) And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (Genesis 1:2) The BEGINNING was and is who He is, and who He will ever be. The END is all that is accomplished in Him and by Him. In the Alpha and the Omega, we have all the divine existence and all the divine creation; we have all the divine revelation that He made known to His entire creation, and the specific revelation that He gave and gives to the children of Adam and to His own children: the redeemed of God with the holy and divine calling of God.

In Revelation Chapter 22, verse 13, the One who is Perfection is the One who has perfected us unto salvation. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. He is the One who has perfected us through the heavenly calling and will yet perfect us IN His presence when the children of God are ALL gathered around Him. So, He reminds us in Revelation 22 that He is the Alpha of perfection for He is the beginning of the creation of God, and as the Omega, He is all finality in the knowledge of man and all that He has given to man.

Christ is the first in all knowledge, and the last of all revelation.

God has poured out His wisdom upon man, and He has revealed His own divine intelligence to the sons of man through the revelation of Himself as the Alpha and the Omega. The complete timeline of mankind in the scriptures come under these first two titles: the Alpha and the Omega. Man was created and within man was the spirit that God gave. God BREATHED into Adam His own Spirit, and with this Spirit came divine intelligence to man when He created Adam: Adam’s knowledge was imparted by God. When Adam named all the beasts of the field, it was by the knowledge that God had put within him. The first enlightenment that mankind received of his own Creator came from the Creator Himself. God has been the divine Teacher and before the mind of man was corrupted by sin man had a divine Tutor every day. And all that was taught to man was BY and THROUGH divine righteousness. Man learned through direct communion WITH His Creator as the Living Word of God. Christ was the divine Teacher and so through the history of mankind in Revelation 22, Christ reminds us of this very fact that all that has been written was by the Alpha and the Omega. This is the far-reaching title that He gives to Himself at the close of His revelation to man. Then He expands this by the first and the last. He is the first in all knowledge, and the last of all revelation. He is the beginning of understanding and the end of wisdom and knowledge. He has created by His Word and with the same Word upholds all things. He is the FIRST, the first voice that man ever heard, and He is the last not only to share and to give mercy to man, but also the finality of the judgment of man as well. The word that He has given from Adam to the end is the pinnacle of ALL knowledge. The greatest knowledge that man can obtain is the knowledge of the holy. And this knowledge comes through the Living and written Word of God. He is the FIRST, He is the beginning of wisdom, for He is ALL wisdom, and all wisdom MUST begin with Him. All His communication to man has been written in a book so that man would be without excuse when in the finality of man, he stands before the great white throne and before He who is the BEGINNING, and the END will once more give the revelation that man without Christ will suffer the judgment of God’s wrath.

The book that we call the Bible is the book of perfection to declare the One who is Perfect, and to instruct us how we can be made perfect IN Him. We are given instruction how to acquire the heavenly calling. Faith is not only a GIFT, but FAITH is proclaimed throughout the whole word of God, through God’s continual revelation to mankind. His word tells us, those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, that without Him we could not be made perfect. It is that Perfection that is within Him that has perfected us and ALL who trust in Him.

He is the beginning and the end, again, we see the beginning of the creation of God that Christ was the divine instrument of all the beginnings. That by the Word of Christ we have the creation of God; this is the same Son of God who creates the children of God: past, present and future.

Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: (Colossians 1:15) For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: (Colossians 1:16)

And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: (Ephesians 3:9) To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,(Ephesians 3:10) According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: (Ephesians 3:11)

The phrase God was in Christ brings out a position of SOVEREIGNTY for the Son of God. To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. (2nd Corinthians 5:19) It is an outward declaration that Christ was God and is God, and that He as God IS the great Creator, and no one else. For He is the essence of all beginnings, and all beginnings are found in Him.

In the very closing of God’s word, we have to see the importance of this verse: three times and in three different ways, the Lord Jesus gives us the height, the depth, the width, and the length and the SPAN of His whole Being. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Within these titles in verse 13, all things are revealed, all things are contained, all things have been given, and all things will be completed in Christ Himself. This is the mystery that has been hid in Christ from the beginning. And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: (Ephesians 3:9) And now, in our day, as we approach the final curtain closing on mankind, what a blessing to us to have all this revealed in Christ Jesus, the Son of God that we, the children of God, have been made perfect in Him.

From the very beginning God has made known His power in the very creation that He created, and that ALL things came into existence by the WORD of His power with all majesty as He created ALL things by the WORD that was IN Him.

Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; (Hebrews 1:3)

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. (Hebrews 11:3)

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1) The same was in the beginning with God. (John 1:2) All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (John 1:3) In him was life; and the life was the light of men. (John 1:4)

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (Genesis 1:1) And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (Genesis 1:2)

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. (Genesis 1:3) And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. (Genesis 1:4)

And he [was] clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. (Revelation 19:13)

In the book of Genesis, God presents Himself as the Creator . . . In the beginning GOD. In the gospel of John, Chapter 1, God presents Himself as the BEGINNING of the WORD. In John’s 1st epistle, the Spirit of God takes us into the darkness and describes to us that which was FROM the beginning before all things began. And the Lord Jesus Himself in Revelation Chapter 3, declares of Himself that He is the beginning of the creation of God. And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; (Revelation 3:14) And the beginning of the creation of God introduced mankind to time, and then presented His own image to man in the fullness of time when God manifested HIMSELF as the image of the invisible God which was and is the Lord Jesus Christ.

The revelation of God Himself abounds from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21. If anyone wants to know and receive the knowledge of the God of creation ALL is found in God’s holy book. God spreads His knowledge from the beginning to the end before us to make us wise unto salvation. Although we cannot comprehend the fullness of God Almighty, we have His holy book before us to show us the path to the knowledge of the holy. We have the beginning and the end, the finality of the determinate counsels and foreknowledge of God that at the end all will be gathered together in Christ. That not only was He the beginning, but all things are complete in Him.

Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. (1st Corinthians 15:24) For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. (1st Corinthians 15:25) The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. (1st Corinthians 15:26) For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. (1st Corinthians 15:27) And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all. (1st Corinthians 15:28)

The circle of deity will be complete. The Godhead will be displayed in ALL His glory. The end of this creation of the heaven and earth will be replaced by a new beginning that has no end wherein righteousness dwells in the fullness of God. And God will be ALL IN ALL.

The first and the last: He, our blessed Lord Jesus, is the express image and fullness of the Godhead bodily. The first is the only Creator. The first can only be the Sovereign. The first can only be the Savior and Redeemer. He is the first to speak, the first to understand, the first in wisdom, and the first in righteousness. He is the first born as that holy thing, He is the first and only One to be manifested by God in Himself as the Son of God, He is the first as the Creator to claim a people for Himself, He is the first born of the Father, He is the first born from the dead, He is the first Priest of the most high God, He is the first King of righteousness. He is the first voice to man, and the first voice to all of His prophets, He is the first voice from heaven, and NOW as the Son of man, He yet speaks from heaven. He is the sole voice of redemption. And then as the last: there is no other god beside Him. Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he. (Isaiah 41:4)

Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. (Isaiah 43:10) I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. (Isaiah 43:11)

Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. (Isaiah 44:6)

Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any. (Isaiah 44:8)

Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last. (Isaiah 48:12) Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together. (Isaiah 48:13)

And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: (Revelation 1:17)

The last is not the end for we know that Christ lives WITH and THROUGH the power of an endless life. Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life. (Hebrews 7:16) When the last kernel of wheat was put into the ephah it was not the end but a complete measure. The LAST does not bring the end, but it completes the measure when all is gathered IN Christ IN God. For all that He is, is without measure: the vastness of God and man’s understanding of God will always have the element of mystery to man. He is the first deity, and He is the only deity. He is the first Creator and the last Creator. In His revelation to man, He is the first witness to Himself and the last witness to Himself in Revelation 22:20 and 21. He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. It is Christ with His own personal witness who signs His whole testimony to man with the one-word Amen. I am the first. I am the last. All perfection is within Him. The Jewel of God is His Son Jesus Christ. And you can see all the facets of God in this complete perfect Jewel, the Lord Jesus Christ. All His perfection is seen in the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. All God’s perfection lies between these two titles of our God and Savior Jesus Christ. Selah and Amen.

. . . . These things saith the Amen . . . . (Revelation 3:14)
